There are two different loops you can take at the top, and it you do both, the total distance is 3 miles round-trip. The trail is easy to find and follow, great for novice hikers and kids as long as you have the endurance to get to the top. Take a picnic to the top! Lots of great spots to see below to town and out to the mountains. Some shaded areas too. Dogs on leashes are permitted. I did not see any restrooms, or picnic tables. There is also a disc golf course here too; I don't know anything about disc golf, but some of the baskets were in very challenging spots!

Once you get on the plateau it's a very easy walk from there back to the bottom. Some incredible views with a very nice breeze blowing. It was 100° when we went but still very pleasant due to the low humidity and the cost of breeze. Not a busy trail, we only encountered a few people when we were there. Now onto the park itself. There's a parking lot with a few picnic tables, and a trail that seems to go out into the horizon. They call it a Park, and I suppose with a couple of picnic tables in the shelter and the "necessary" building, it is a park, but not one that encourages long-term lounging. There's something about this spot that makes you want to walk, or run, or meander. Here, on top of the rimrocks, either direction, there's an impressive view of the City continuing all the way over to the Beartooth Mountains. It's a park that's also the trailhead for further exploration. Along the route there is an occasional bench upon which to sit and look at the sunset, or the sunrise, or the clouds moving over the mountains. The path is wide enough to accommodate walkers, joggers, and bikers in both directions. It's ADA accessible. But, come back to the Park to take a break, or have that picnic, or just stand around and chat with friends. You can't lose with the view.

The Shiloh Conservation Area is an unexpected bonus in an area in which there is a much recent…read moredevelopment. It's a chance to get outside and enjoy nature without traveling far. As you walk along the path, there are signs describing what the conservation area does and the flora and fauna you might see. It's an easy walk, the paths are paved, the signs easy to read, and despite being close to a main road, it's quiet. While there are walking access points at the nearby apartments and businesses, there's also entrance off Shiloh near the Knife River business. It seems to be popular for families with kids and dogs or both, and people who like to fish. I've seen plenty of all of them. There's no seating or picnic tables, or the like, so it's a place to keep you moving (except maybe if you're fishing). You never know what you'll see around the next curve in the path, and that's not a bad thing.

In October 2022, I booked a trip with Austin Adventures scheduled for July 2023. Austin Adventures…read morerecommended that I purchase travel insurance for the trip and provided a link to their travel insurance partner. I purchased the travel insurance. I also made airplane reservations and a hotel reservation for the night before the tour. In April, I was informed that Austin Adventures was cancelling the trip and refund my payment for the trip. However, Austin Adventures refused to refund my travel insurance premium. In addition, I lost money on the airplane tickets. My total losses were over$1000. I spoke to Austin Adventures. I explained I understood that trips are cancelled from time to time. But, that should be financially neutral to me. I lost over $1000 trying to book a trip with them and following their recommendations. I asked if they were OK with that. They told me they have been in business for over 40 years and were highly rated. In conclusion, be very careful dealing with this company. They may cancel your trip and you could lose money you have invested in it. I have since seen other reviews that have reported similar problems. Beware!

About 4.5 years ago, my wife and I were interested in a family Yellowstone vacation as our two sons…read morewere finally old enough for the trip. We had never been to Yellowstone, and I thought I would be able to call a few weeks ahead to book hotel rooms and a rental car, I was terribly mistaken in my naïveté. Luckily, we stumbled across Austin Adventures in a travel magazine and gave them a call to see if we could book one of their family tours. They had one opening left on the first tour of the season and we jumped on it. I will wholeheartedly say that this was one of the best family vacations we have ever experienced. The tour guides were unbelievably knowledgeable about the park, environment, wildlife, etc. They provided an amazing experience throughout the park, at the attractions, on the hiking trail, in the hotels; everything was taken care of. Immediately after our vacation, we booked a tour for my wife's parents and our children. Again, they delivered an amazing customer experience. After that trip, we booked a private tour for our employees. This was the last tour of the season, which could have meant AA might have been experiencing some fatigue from a long season. But, it was anything but that, we had a wonderful tour. Our employees still speak about it to this day. We had another tour this season, everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves. AA has only improved on their impeccable customer service.

I really didnt see any picnic tables or much more that would help classify this as a park, but then again I was in a hurry to get to the airport so all I managed to get to do was a short walk on the trail and walk to the river to take in the amazing scenery. The river walk area takes you to the Yellowstone River, and offers you a great view of the Sacrifice Cliffs which are pretty spectacular. I wish that I had more time, it would have been great to be able to bike down the trail. If I ever make it back to Montana, I will be sure to return.

We got off at the…read morenext likely exit from I 94, and found ourselves in Huntley Montana, One of many small quaint towns along the Yellowstone River. In more or less the middle of town, we found this park: a large rectangle of grass, shade trees, a considerable play structure, and a few other odds and ends like a small basketball court, tetherball, and an athletic field. Heck, there's even a sand volleyball pit that looks well used. Just a few folks enjoying a quiet day of white puffy clouds and cerulean skies, along with our family. We picked one of the picnic tables in the park, a table that would have been reserved through some kind of online system back home. Not here, plenty to choose from and each one inviting for a road weary family. It felt good to get out of the car, and move around a little bit. A freight train went by on the nearby tracks, reminding us that this ain't SoCal. I can't imagine when we'd be back here again, but suffice to say, it made for a nice memory, and glad to put them in the Yelposphere.

I have the opinion there are basically four types of guides.....Good ones, mediocre ones, bad ones, and great ones. Chris is one of the great ones. From the minute I met Chris, I knew it was going to be a fun day fishing. Chis has a great sense of humor, a true love of the outdoors, a constant smile, is incredibly positive, an amazing fly fishing instructor, and a great fisherman. There was never a dull moment during our 8 hrs. on the water. My fishing partner and I were shown one of those "days to remember." If you're pondering a guided trip to one of Montana's incredible rivers that Chris guides on, you won't find a better guy to fish with. We have already booked several dates with Chris for the Spring. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of the Bighorn: every season, every hatch, every spot, every time of day, any water level, any weather. He's a skilled fisherman and a great teacher. He'll put you on fish and help you catch them. Great guy, too. If you need additional guides for a bigger party, he will arrange them, and they'll be great. Jeremy's customer service is excellent. Once you're booked with him, there's literally nothing to worry about. Just show up, fish, and have a great time. I've lost count of how many trips I've taken with Jeremy...more than ten.
