We got off at the…read morenext likely exit from I 94, and found ourselves in Huntley Montana, One of many small quaint towns along the Yellowstone River. In more or less the middle of town, we found this park: a large rectangle of grass, shade trees, a considerable play structure, and a few other odds and ends like a small basketball court, tetherball, and an athletic field. Heck, there's even a sand volleyball pit that looks well used. Just a few folks enjoying a quiet day of white puffy clouds and cerulean skies, along with our family. We picked one of the picnic tables in the park, a table that would have been reserved through some kind of online system back home. Not here, plenty to choose from and each one inviting for a road weary family. It felt good to get out of the car, and move around a little bit. A freight train went by on the nearby tracks, reminding us that this ain't SoCal. I can't imagine when we'd be back here again, but suffice to say, it made for a nice memory, and glad to put them in the Yelposphere.

I really didnt see any picnic tables or much more that would help classify this as a park, but then again I was in a hurry to get to the airport so all I managed to get to do was a short walk on the trail and walk to the river to take in the amazing scenery. The river walk area takes you to the Yellowstone River, and offers you a great view of the Sacrifice Cliffs which are pretty spectacular. I wish that I had more time, it would have been great to be able to bike down the trail. If I ever make it back to Montana, I will be sure to return.

He knows how to swim it's only 3 ft when you freaking reach the bottom and so yes I swapped wristbands with another girl that was taller and gave it to him cuz the girl didn't want to ride he wanted to ride on the side like he did two weeks ago but unfortunately they saw that so when me and my son went up to go down the slide they had three ladies up there and the one lady was just rude as all can be and she said it's for the saved my child's head reached the middle of the orange part on the pole like I don't know why they got to be so weird about it my son has been on many slides many many waterslides and has never had issues like I can understand if you did not swim or whatever the case may be but the kid just wants to have fun you guys let him on the slides two weeks ago with no problem if you guys all need to be on the same little policies and rules or something because you brok my kids heart today thanks for that

What an incredible city park. There's no way you can visit this park and not find something to do…read moreor see or find a place to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Joggers, hikers, adults, kids, families, dog walkers, little league players, swimmers, all have their own space. It has everything: Swimming pool, playground, baseball/softball field, a hiking/jogging/walking trail, a sculpture garden, picnic tables, and more. The big trees provide shady areas for having that picnic or a party. The sculpture garden is an interesting addition to the park. It doesn't seem to fit into the entire outdoor activity thing. On the other hand, why not? The park sees a lot of foot traffic and if the art community wants to showcase the local talent, why not a park. Art for everyone.

A relatively short drive out of Billings, this State Park is on the Crow Indian reservation. It's…read morea beautiful spot, part of the land deeded to Chief Plenty Coups through the Dawes Act. Plenty Coups' story is equally fascinating: honored as the last of the traditional chiefs of his tribe, his story is entwined with this park, part of his original land allotment and place upon which he built his home (modeled on Mt. Vernon according to the details). As one of the first to understand the loss of the way of life of the Native American tribes, he settled in this location after seeing it in a vision. The cabin is larger than a standard log home of the era, and has an upstairs, as well. Also included on the property is separate building used as a community store, according to the descriptions. The park itself also has a teepee set up next to the home, and a museum and visitor center that does a great job describing the park and the residents of the surrounding area. It's a nice historical park with a short (less than a mile) trail around the property and along the creek, and also offers a picnic area. There's an audio tour available, but the markers along the path and around the home provide a nice self-guided tour if that's your preference.
