Lots of home cooked favourites to be had. We both had the Big Al burger platter. Delicious homemade patty lightly spiced and freshly cooked, bacon, cheese and the works. The platter comes with fries, rings and coleslaw. A very substantial meal I must say. They have a daily special so a couple days later I dropped by with my son. He had the Big Al platter and I had the special which was a chilly cheese dog. The dog was sloppy so Al brought me a fork with it but OMG it was good. Homemade chilli too. The decor is diner style with lots of antique radios, cameras and old house hold items on the shelves. Al built and raced cars in his youth and there are lots of pictures of old cars on the walls, one with him and his wife beside his 74 AMX. A great spot for breakfast and lunch. Closes at 2pm. I enjoyed the cheesecake for desert with an espresso and it was very satisfying. Christine our server was very attentive and friendly. We sat at one of the sunny windows and enjoyed warmth and charm of the decor. Iris and family have worked hard to create a beautiful clean, and welcoming environment. Such a wonderful experience and fabulous addition to Renfrew.

I had been wanting to try Kingburger for years, but every time we were in the area, we were always just passing by and had to get to where we were going on a specific schedule. This past weekend we had some time and stopped on the way home. My husband and I each got a King Cheeseburger and split a large poutine. The King Burger has two beef patties, triple bun, Kingburger sauce, and fried onions. The cheeseburger just adds cheese. The patties were real, homemade beef patties. They weren't too thick or dense and were juicy. The cheese was real cheese slices and not Kraft singles. The fried onions were good, not too many and not overwhelming. The Kingburger sauce seemed mostly like a mix of ketchup and mustard and there was far too much for me - I would've liked to taste the beef more because it was really great! I was also hoping to give more burger to our little kiddo without the sauce or just minimal. The buns were nothing special, but were fresh, soft, and helped soak up the sauce. In fairness, I like light sauce, whereas my husband likes everything super saucy and he really enjoyed it. All in all, it's definitely a good burger and I might try the Super Burger next time, which also comes with back bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and subs fried onions for raw. The poutine, unfortunately, did not the have cheese curds I was craving, but the gravy was very tasty and the fries were so perfectly crispy. As a big cheese lover, dare I say that I might just order fries and gravy next time. The portion was pretty big, too. Super affordable, weekday specials, and fast and friendly service. Love a small, local, family-owned restaurant that's been around for ages. There's a patio to the side and parking, but no indoor seating and truly a drive-thru with a drive-in theatre restaurant vibe. I'll need to try one of their many milkshakes next time.
