Some business' on Yelp should get more than a 5 star and Four B is one of them. I have been taking my cars - a Mercedes and a Range Rover, to this place for over a decade. David is no longer the owner, Tanya is and has been for about a decade. I first started going here since it was highly recommended and close to where I was working at the time. I did go elsewhere for about a year after David was rude to me over the phone, basically told me that if I didn't want to wait for service, then go elsewhere. All that has changed since Tanya has been in charge. She runs the place with her sons and is extremely knowledgeable about cars. They are always busy so it might be a bit difficult and you may have to wait but if it is an emergency, Tanya will find a way to get you in. My cars have been going here for tires, brakes, maintenance etc. and even though Four B does not have tires to replace, Tanya has found me a place to go to for new tires as well as when one of the tires on my Mercedes blew up and I just needed a used replacement. She really does go out of her way. Being a woman, I always feel, and I am sure it is true in a lot of cases, that I am taken advantage of when it comes to my cars. I have never doubted Tanya's advise nor does she over charge. She is very reasonable and I wish there were more people and places like these. read more

Amazing work at half the price of a dealership! Would totally recommend. Completed within a day with OEM parts.

I took a car here to get a pre purchase inspection (PPI). I called the morning of to make sure they have a time slot for me to take in the car. I arrive and they were unfortunately backed up due to unforeseen circumstances. I waited for maybe 30 minutes or so in the lobby. Thankfully they had wifi! Anyways they check out the car and were done in short order. Thankful that they were able to do the inspection since that was the last day of the car's return period. Good family owned shop operated by good folks. Very reasonable prices too! read more

I own a 1987 e30. Parts r a nightmare 2 find & a mechanic 2 work on it is a challenge. Then I found Brandon @ Four-B. He's done blown head gasket rebuild along w/ many other big repairs thar other shops wont even attempt. They r very fair in price. And, I always drive away from his shop "Fixed". Four B Auto Service did an outstanding job on handling the maintenance for my 2016 BMW 328i. I came in to get the seals done on my BMW (Valve Cover, Oil Pan). Not only did they get the job done, but also realized a few other errors that they were able to squeeze in and get done with the repairs. I used my warranty to pay for the costs but for what my deductible was and half the price that my warranty wouldn't cover, it still was very affordable. Huge thank you to this shop for being great with their service and reasonable with their pricing. Will definitely come back for all my automotive needs. read more

First off, they are very covid friendly so you will be fine you are in and out of their office in like 3 minutes. Second, these people are amazing been going for about a year and I recommended one of my friends with a 328i there he had got an inspection at bmw and found that there were three leaks oil housing gasket, valve cover, and oil pan leak bmw quoted around 4.6k for that which was ridiculous, however, four b priced it at 2200 and it was an easy yes upon them dismantling the car to repair the leaks they began to find bigger problems like 2 cam shaft bolt gears completely destroyed and they showed us through pictures how bad it was something that wasnt mentioned by bmw and gave a new price point (less than bmw still). They are extremely transparent in their work his car has been running beautifully ever since they put hands in there. They are quite literally the best for bmw's and best part is their time management is insane as they got it done within 2-3 days of dropping it off this is the place to be im telling you! I come here with my n55 2011 for all my bmw needs and upgrades especially the full bolt on equipment. There cant be enough said about here, they got me and my familys business for life! read more

I went to four B auto to get a tune up on my M3. They ordered all the parts that was needed at a really decent price. Did not price gouge or anything. Honest customer service. Work is top notch, and when you get your work done there you don't have to worry about getting ripped off or being charged for things you don't need. This review is long due. Brandon has serviced my M car multiple times including doing mod updates. He's extremely knowledgeable and is also fair on price. There are lots of good BMW shops here in the Bay, but some sell you snake oil (on their branding/marketing) and charge you an arm and a leg. 4B Auto is legit and honest. I recommend the shop for work whenever someone asks for a good shop to do mods. I've been driving 30 min to bring my car to Brandon for service. That should speak for itself. read more

Service! This is my first time reviewing auto service, not because this is the only time I need auto service, it is just every time I HATE all other places, I do not even want to think about the experience again. Four B is totally the opposite. It is GREAT! They asked detailed questions. Tell us what could be wrong and also gives constructive suggestions and recommendations which is not intend to break our bank! Outstanding service every time! I highly recommend Four B. I take my 2012 BMW 328i there for all my service needs.

Excellent shop, fair prices and lasting, quality repairs. Been a customer for years and have always been happy with the results.

I was on a road trip and ended up staying the night in San Jose/Santa Clara area. Of course, the car needed an oil change so thanks to yelp, I found this place right down the road from t he hotel. I called at opening and requested an appointment. The representative was quick to get me in right away. I dropped off the vehicle, waited for a few... book in hand. Before I knew it, the car was ready to go. Great so easy service and the mechanic that helped me was super chill. read more

Once again Four B comes to the rescue. Been having issues with my AC for a month now (one side doesn't get cool air) and especially with the hot weather lately, I decided to finally do something about it. I saw that the local Firestone Auto Service location was running a special on "AC system check", so I brought my car to them to see what the issue was. They said there was no issue, pressure was fine, and refrigerant level was good. Not sure why they think that warm air only from one side is not a problem. Seems they didn't even really check anything at all, except collect the fee for the "AC Service check". But then they offered their next service "AC Recharge" for $178. Typical upsell by bringing me in for a "check", and then selling the service. I politely declined. The next day I brought my car to Four B (which I should have just done initially!). Within an hour, they called me and said my refrigerant level was low, they refilled it, and I was good to go. Simple and half the price of what Firestone wanted for their "AC Recharge". I can tolerate the hot weather now that my AC is working again :) Thanks as always Four B ! read more

As most people know, it's difficult finding boutique service shops of any sort, where the service comes with Trust, Value, and Reliability. Especially for autos, which can be a very costly proposition for any kind of needed repair or maintenance. I discovered Four B thru my fiancée, who had been going to them for years. Four B maintains an old-school work ethic and business operation... and they deliver those factors of Trust, Value, and Reliability seamlessly every time. I drive good autos and I have taken them to high-end shops and dealerships regularly for years. Don't confuse glossy for grass roots. Four B isn't about leather-seated lobbies and coffee machines... but they are high-end for all the other more important reasons-- high quality service for your vehicles, at an honest price. Super chill and friendly shop! Employees are straightforward, honest, and competent, and they have a lot of experience working on German cars. I brought my car in for a PPI, but I might start bringing it in for future mods. Only qualm is that social distancing protocols aren't being followed, so if you're higher risk for the virus, might want to find a different shop or wait it out. read more

I had been going to Four B for over 6 years but recently the quality of service severely declined. I came in for electrical problems with my car, I was told that I had a fuse that was out and was charged $120 for the service. 3 days later, the same problem persisted and I was told they would have to do a diagnostic which would be another $100. But this didn't make sense given the fact that the original problem was never fixed. I received much attitude from the lady owner. I asked if I could speak with her husband, David, who was who I worked with usually and I was told he was not around. Later, I found out that he had a new shop across the street since they separated and that her along with her sons were now running Four B. Of course, I switched over to David's new shop and haven't looked back since. read more

This has become my go to spot! Easy to schedule. Quick service. Very organized and the most important part - not super expensive. My Civic wouldn't start despite having two neighbors help jumpstart it for me. Took a chance on this place and had it towed to Four B around the corner from me to have them see what was going on. They texted me within a few hours to tell me that they determined that the starter was out and gave me a quote. After some research, I determined they quoted me a fair price and had them do the work. It was done within 24 hours and the final bill came in a little lower than their quote. They also let me know that my rear tires needed to be changed, which I appreciated. Tanya at the front desk was friendly and communicative during the process. Two weeks later, the car is still running fine. Thanks, Four B! I'm happy with them. read more

I highly recommend Four B. I have been coming here for several years with my car. They are pretty quick and cost efficient as well. I have qualms about the service they providing when I drop my car off with them. My husband and I have been coming to Four B auto for years. They always take care of us and no upselling. They are honest and tell you like it is. I appreciate that. Recently I got into an accident on 101 and was sandwiched between 2 cars. I was the only one who was damaged. AAA gave me the option to go to one of their auto body shops or find my own. All of their "certified" shops had terrible reviews, so I decided to take it into four B. Tonya and Brandon took care of me. They milked the insurance company. Every little scratch they took photos of and got approval to replace. My car came out looking brand new! They were also kind enough in helping surprise my husband with installing a new exhaust on his STI. We came up with a ruse and they played along perfectly. Hubby was SO surprised and shocked. It was awesome. Thanks David, Tonya, & Brandon! read more

Lo and behold, Four B Auto Service coming to my rescue! A few days ago, my car started to act up when I was stepping on my brakes. This blew a lightbulb in my head. Uh-oh! I think it's time to change my brake pads and get my rotors checked out. BUT...it got worse. My engine light comes on too! Since it happened during the weekend and in need of a mechanic...I had to wait until Monday! Boohoo. Yet, this gave me time to find an auto shop to help me out. I couldn't take my car to a dealership, knowing full well that I'd be charge up the butt for little damage control on my poor car. I was in need of a good, reliable, and honest mechanic who charges at a reasonable price, especially when it comes to European cars. Of course, I have no greater instincts but to use yelp and do my research. After a few attempts, I finally settled on this place. I first called before driving my car to the shop thinking they might not take my car in on such short notice. The person who answered the phone was the owner. Yay David! He asked me a couple of questions, asked if it was driveable or perhaps consider getting it towed but he said it's fine for a short drive, and gave me the quick run through that he can take a look at my car right away free of charge! So far so good. Upon entering their shop, you'll find they have a pool table inside their office, two couches to sit and wait, magazines, trophies from racing and certifications, soda and vending machine, and FREE WIFI! Checked out the number of cars around and it was mainly VWs and BMWs but he can work on any other cars. Finally spoke with David after waiting for a few minutes and he got straight to talking. He was very friendly, easy to talk to in concern what was the problem, and helpful with a lot of knowledge what may have happened. I explained about my brakes, the engine light, etc. After waiting for a half hour, he said, well after a diagnostic run through, you're right about the brakes and rotors. They will be fixed right away! He gave me the price and details after a few minutes of discussing the situation. I paid less with their shop than my usual mechanic and dealership! He saved me $$$ Completely satisfied, he also implied what other specifications I need to get fixed. He made me feel at ease that my car was fine, just needed two things to get fixed with no fraction of the cost. Other places who quoted me were offering me an expensive price. Thanks to David and his great team, I drove back home happy! After my experience, I am coming back to Four B from now on. Especially to do my oil change and tune up! A better deal than I could ever ask for! Thanks guys!! =) read more

If your looking for extremely friendly and expert mechanics look no further than Four B Auto. I have been coming to this shop for 4 years now and each time has been a pleasant experience. I couldn't help but write a review because I went in today to install new headlights on my e92 m3 and they were able to install them in half the amount of time I was told it would take as well as they fixed all of the issues I was having. 10/10 would recommend this shop. read more

Have been going to 4B for years now. David has always been VERY open and honest about repairs and cost. I have even brought in sister's car for 90k service, he inspected it and said that I didn't have to do it for another 20k miles - "everything is still good" That just goes to show how honest of a person he is nowadays. We have all had our fair share of mechanic horror stories, but with 4B - it's to the point where when I have a problem with my car - I just drop it off and ask him to call me when it's ready. I don't even have to ask about pricing anymore - i know I'm getting the service/price here. The only downside I would see is that he is getting so busy now where it's probably a good idea to call before you go in. Cars that he's worked for me and my friends: Honda Accord, CR-V, S2000, Mercedes E55, S55, CLS500, S500, S430, Cadillac Escalade, CT-S, BMW 545i, 330i read more
