Matt and I decided to start hitting food trucks on the north side of town in our biweekly lunch…read more The first truck we went to was Los Compas. The menu was very complete for the various meat served. I usually like to get Cabeza but I saw that they had chorizo on the menu. Most food trucks don't sell this type of meat for some reason. I really like the spicy flavor of this meat. So I ordered it with cheese and no cabbage (I hate cabbage). I added a flavorful red sauce from the condiment bar. Perfect for me but to hot for Matt. The meat was well cooked so you didn't have any orange grease dripping out of the taco. Some of the best chorizo I have ever had at a food truck. Matt ordered his usual carne asada taco and a carne asada corameles. As you can see from the photos, he added a lot of condiments from the outstanding sauce bar. He liked both of his lunch items. They had a very good condiments bar and had plates and cups to serve what ever you want to add to your lunch. The service was fast and efficient. They even had some one to help you at the condiment bar. They had a nice covered patio and Spanish music playing on the radio. The patio was very clean and the chairs were comfortable. Since Matt never finishes his lunch and takes the remains home for dinner, they offered him a bag to put the food and condiments in to go. The only drawback I saw was the noise from the road since they are right on the edge of the road. Nothing they can do with minor noise but after awhile you don't notice it as much. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend this food truck for lunch or dinner.

Wasn't impressed. The meat is underwhelming and the salsas are also underwhelming. The salsas…read moreovertake whatever you put them on bc everything is so mild in flavor. Would not comeback.

I had the Chipilon which is the toasted bun and the melted cheese. The best way to go, in my opinion. It was very good. Some of the chopped onion was a tad large and a just a tad crunchy. By "some" I mean only two pieces on the whole dog. That didn't bother me at all but I know for some that might be an issue. Not much in the way of a salsa bar. He had only two, a very watery guac sauce and a very watery mild green salsa. On the SW corner of Ft. Lowell and Country Club. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Prices are on par for seafood. Check out the photos of the menus I took. There was no salsa bar, but that may be because of the current COVID-19 policies. There were small containers of salsa and chipotle mayo included with my order. I ordered the fish taco and the Tori-Taco. The fish taco and the shrimp taco are named the same on the menu as "empanizado." As the lady seemed to have a very small skill set of English, my tip would be to emphasize several times which taco you want because I received a shrimp taco instead of the fish taco. The shrimp taco was good. The breading was light and not greasy. Served on two corn tortillas, it came with Mexican slaw. The Tori-Taco is described as chile guero with creme cheese, bacon and shrimp. Both were good. The shrimp taco ($3.00) was about on par with Taco Fish's. The Tori-Taco ($4.50) was also good. Give it a try, you'll probably like it. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. I didn't anticipate that bc I live maybe 6 minutes from this place. I got the fried fish, fried shrimp and Marine tacotote. All tacos came with avocado and premixed coleslaw/mayo, which I didn't know. Fried fish was soggy and the premixed coleslaw and avocado was just too rich and wrong for this taco. I really wish I had known it came like that. I'm used to having a some sort of crema and fresh component like pico or chopped onion and cilantro. Shrimp taco was exactly as described above with the toppings. The shrimp was way way waaayyy over cooked. Marine tacotote was interesting. It had a huge piece of fried fish, 2-3 fried shrimp, and a tomatoe vegetable, cheese medley with a grilled fish on the botttom. It was...nothing like I've ever had. I can't say I enjoyed it bc the coleslaw was too much and it didn't add anything to the taco. The tacos were HUGE. I didn't need to buy 4. The price for what you get is extremely reasonable ($17) I would give it another chance but no coleslaw or avocado and I would eat it there. The people who own this shop are wonderful and kind. They have two menus English and Spanish. There is plenty of seating with hot sauce, napkins and salt and pepper at every table.

I was also served tostitos and mayo (?) overall it was freaking delicious, with the mayo on a chip withhot sauce and shrimp....YUM!! You sit outside, on picnic tables. Or take it back to your car. Today, I came to try the breakfast menu and was in love. Though I am not vegan, I wanted to try their vegan menu, as this is one of the few restaurants that puts dedication into vegan food, using real foods and not just meat substitutes. The dedication shines through into the taste, textures, and flavors of the food. I ordered the Tamal Plate and loved how the tamale came crispy. The restaurant was busy on this Sunday morning, making the service a little slow. However, every worker was very friendly and helpful despite the busy day. The inside is also decorated nicely, making you feel cozy. There is also some outside seating that I would have loved to have utilized if it wasn't full. I am excited to come back to try more of the menu! I highly recommend Del Cielo to both vegans and non-vegans!
