I work in the town of Marana and there's not many restaurants out here! I'm a sonoran hot dog lover! Just don't put any tomatoes on my hot dog and we're good to go! This food truck has been around for a few years and I love their food! They have a menu full of delicious tacos, burros, tortas, tostadas, hot dogs, and my personal favorite the plaza fries! Plaza fries are $7.50 and you get so much food! The young lady who takes your order is super sweet and makes sure you don't forget your salsa!

I'd eat here everyday if I could. Really good tacos, and their plaza fries are addicting.

Ok, we're driving back to Tucson from Phoenix on i10, and we missed breakfast so we're hungry on the short trip. Stopped in Marana to try this food truck. It has moved down the street to the baptist church as another Yelper mentioned. Good find! The lady was very friendly and helpful. We had the Sonoran dog and shared the Plaza Fries. The dog was served on a nice griddled bun, and the flavor of the bacon wrapped dog was good. (I had mine without jalapeños, and I think it would have been better with). My husband loved it. The fries were huge! We only ate half of them. They offered green and/or red sauce with the meal. We also got 2 Agua Frescas (bottled, not fresh) - mango and horchata. They were ICE cold. Mango had nice chunks of mango in it. The horchata was too watery and sweet for me. We sat at one of the 3 picnic benches provided. It was a perfect little find. TIP: I think it's CASH only, but I might be wrong.

Had the tacos and Sonoran dog today for lunch. Second day in a row going back for the tacos. They are amazing, Sonoran dog is very good as well. Extremely quick, I placed my order and was back on the road in under ten minutes. Highly recommend!

I'm addicted to this place. Breakfast burritos and tacos are great. Tried their carnitas burrito today. It blew Nico's away. I'm Totally hooked,

We went around 4pm and they were already pretty busy, but we were able to get a table right away. The service was quick and friendly -- I especially liked that multiple people stopped by to check on us throughout the meal. Chips and salsa came out immediately, which is always a great start. I also loved the fun, upscale container the chips were served in -- such a nice touch. For food, we ordered the chicken chimi with a side of rice and the lighter fare plate with a chile relleno and chicken enchilada. We also took advantage of happy hour and ordered two house margaritas for $8 each. Everything was fabulous. The chimi was huge -- honestly it ended up being two meals because it was so big and filling! The red sauce on both the chimi and enchilada was especially good, with a nice smoky flavor. The chile relleno was also very tasty. We'll definitely be back. The only thing we'd love to see is a few more options on the happy hour food menu -- that's usually how we like to try new dishes! Great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere!

If you were wondering, the smell of cows was NOT perceptible even by my extra good sniffer. Probably because of the auction, combined with great reviews - the place was packed with cowboys/girls & farmers along with a mix of other diners. Young, old, hip, not hip, all getting along in there. Wait staff was busy as could be, but kindly took our order & served our dishes while they were still piping hot which is a pet peeve when it's not. Menu had gluten free and vegetarian options which I didn't expect but did think was smart & I'll def try one of them next time I eat here. Lots of choices for everyone. Prices were the usual for this economy ($15+ person entree, excluding beverage or spendier stuff like steak). The place smelled like a good diner ought to: sizzling fragrance of thick bacon & burgers, scent of fresh coffee, toasted breads & perfectly cooked eggs. I ordered the Breakfast Torta, a SW twist on a bfast sammy - egg, bacon, tomato with gorgeous & plentiful avocado atop a thick smear of housemade refried beans. All packed into the freshest torta bread I've eaten anywhere. My husband had the chicken fried steak breakfast with crispy house potatoes. They serve Pepsi products so hubs had a big glass of chocolate milk (nice sized!) and I had water & a side of fruit. Golly! The portions were generous and whoever is cooking clearly knows what they're doing cause I could taste the love in every bite. (Even the bites of not-my-entree under the guise of needing to review his plate, too!). The chicken fried steak was perfectly seasoned, inside and out and the thickish gravy had a zest to it which really made the dish extra good. I was pleasantly surprised that the home fries were perfectly crisp. Usually it's the side dishes at many cafes that I find a real let down. Not here. Start to finish, everything was dinerliciously great. Five stars for executing country cafe food without cutting corners. Had enough to enjoy some for next days' lunch. It is a down home country cafe & deserves all the stars. Yeehaw!

Which, you know, is kind of the whole point of a restaurant. The atmosphere was great, a little on the nose, but great none the less. It feels like a Mexican dinner or at least what I imagined a dinner in Mexico would look like. The staff where beyond amazing, especially the woman who made our complementary salsa right at the table. And the salsa was yummy but sadly that's the only part of the meal that I can say that about. The thing is, nothing was truly bad, but just about everything was incredibly bland. You'd have expected someone who puts raisins in potato salad to have served it, not an authentic Mexican restaurant. Though the positive is the lack of seasoning is really the only major problem. The food did not have any weird taste, it wasn't dry, the presentation was fine. It simply needs to be seasoned and this place goes to a solid 4/5 rather than a three.

When he said Nico's, everyone got excited and when is Al's I had never had it, they told me I was in for a treat. They were right. I can still remember that burrito, as big as my forearm, stuffed with egg, potato, bacon and cheese. It was delicious to the last bite. I became a Nico's devotee from that moment forward. As I travelled the world, whenever I returned home to the Old Pueblo, stopping at Nico's became a ritual for me and my family. That's why this review is difficult to write. While the food is still tasty and the portions are sizable, the customer service was dreadful. Apparently my first mistake was to ask about the "Flying Saucer" which is the Thursday special. I was told that it's basically a chimichanga with an open tortilla. It comes in chicken or beef machaca. I asked which the employee prefers, and received a smart Alec response that their tastes are different from mine. My wife ordered a carne asada chimichanga, I ordered the chicken spaceship, my son ordered the chicken tacos. Our friendly attendant forgot to take the taco order and we had to pay for that separately. Apparently Nico's has adopted a pricing scheme where the displayed price is only for cash payment. A different price is charged for credit cards. This policy is explained with a small sign by the register. Nowhere does it explain the difference. Apparently credit cards negate the special. The attendant told me that Filiberto's does the same thing, when I asked about the difference in price of what was charged from what was on the menu. The funny thing is that I don't mind the surcharge. I resent the lack of transparency, and the rude behavior from the attendant. So, thanks for the memories. I don't need the attitude.
