All 3 of my kids have attended Fountainhead Montessori at one time or another. Although, some of the staff has changed throughout the years (since we first came in 2007), the quality of care has never wavered. Overall, I've been very pleased with how understanding and caring the teachers are (especially Ms. Uzma in the Toddler/Prep class). My child has been having some trouble adjusting to preschool, and the staff is experienced and have been extremely patient with her. When there have been issues, they are brought to my attention right away and resolved. In the past, I've toured several preschools in town but wouldn't trust my kiddos at any of the other schools. I particularly like that they follow the Montessori method of education closely (not all Montessori schools do) and also the new security protocol they have in place really gives me peace of mind. When I drop off my child, I feel she is safe, secure and in good hands. Great value (you are not billed for days that class is unavailable) and wonderful staff in a nurturing, kind environment is the reason why we come to Fountainhead Montessori. read more

My son has been attending Fountainhead Montessori Livermore since he was 18 months old, and we've had a wonderful experience. The entire staff -- Ms. Uzma, Ms. Divya, Ms. Erica, Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Bhagya, Ms. Doris, and others -- are incredibly caring and attentive towards the children. Our son has been going to the Fountainhead Montessori Livermore since October of 2024. We are amazed at how much he has learned over the months. Special thanks to Ms. Uzma and Ms. Stephanie for helping him adapt to the school environment. There was constant crying during initial drop offs, and they (Ms. Uzma and Ms. Stephanie) worked with him very patiently to calm him down and get him engaged in class activities. Irs been a good expierence for us in FMS. My daughter looks forward to school and keeps on saying her friends name . It really makes us happy to see her adjust in the new environment. We have recently moved to Livermore and FMS exceeds all our expectations at this point. I am changing my 5 star review due to the fact that FMS has decided to "go in a different direction" and with hardly any notice to parents or staff terminate two directors and replace them with someone else. We have stayed at fountainhead for 8 years because of these two directors and over night they have cut them. Our kids will suffer greatly from this sudden and devastating change. We will be giving our 30 days notice as soon as possible. The change was so sudden the executive director thought it was a smart idea to notify parents of the change before the directors themselves. Have you even notified them yet? That is the lowest thing a boss can do. How heartless of you Shandy Shutes. Debra Molloy, how can you show up Monday morning ready for work knowing that the parents were only notified on Sunday and at best maybe the staff heard from the parents. You must be just as heartless as Shandy. Do you know what happens when loyal, diehard parents that have sent their kids to fountainhead for just shy of a decade, leave? More follow. You will really have to "change direction" at that point, Shandy. I hope all the current staff finds a better place to love and educate children. We planned on having the rest of this year and the next with fountain but not now. I would recommend all look elsewhere now. We had such a wonderful experience at FMS Livermore for our children from ages 18m to 5 years (2019-2024). Up until recently I would have recommended the school wholeheartedly. However the recent dismissal of two of the school directors is such a poor decision and so woefully handled. I understand that staffing transitions sometimes need to occur - however, the abrupt nature and poor communication are inexcusable. These two directors were loving, caring facets in the lives of so many young children - and they were removed without even an explanation or chance for these children to cope with the transition. I have been sending my kids to FHM for over 2.5 yrs and I'm more than happy with Julianne and staffs attentiveness's to the children and to anything we might need and want for the children. Our experience with FMS is a two-part story. During the first 4-5 months of our daughter's enrollment, things seemed great. The teachers and director communicated well with us, our daughter seemed content, and we looked forward to bringing her to school every day. The director, Julianne, was also very courteous and responsive. But then at some point, a switch seemed to flip. Julianne became very rude and abrasive in even the most basic interactions. We are not sure if this was because of personal issues, stress from being overtaxed serving as both director and a classroom teacher, or something else. All we know is that every interaction we had with her became unpleasant. At the time, we were beginning to potty train our 2-year old daughter, and we were extremely excited that she was making such great progress at home. Her teachers, Stephanie and Uzma, were very supportive and offered to help her transition to using the toilet at school. But the very first time she tried to use it, it was obvious there was a problem. The toilet was far too big for her! We asked the teachers if we could possibly get a seat adapter or bring a smaller potty for kids her size. They did not see any problem with it at all. But when we asked Julianne, she was insistent that this was against the school's licensing policy. We asked if there was any chance they could change the policy, but Julianne would not hear of it. Over the next several weeks, each time we made suggestions of things we could try, she shot them down immediately. Her inflexibility and stubbornness on the matter was only trumped by her condescending attitude. She kept telling us, "This is the way we've been doing it for 15 years." It was like listening to the general manager for a sports team that continues to fail every year, but refuses to change because they're simply too hard-headed. On a couple of occasions when we dropped our daughter off, Uzma recommended that we try to sit next to her on the potty to see if having us there would make her feel more comfortable. In both cases, Julianne found her way into the bathroom and creepily watched our daughter and made everyone feel as uncomfortable as possible. It's no surprise that after this our daughter started to say, "No like Julianne. Scary." My wife consulted with other day cares in the area and review California law to see if there was any issue with using a seat adapter or having a separate potty. It was no shock when we found out there is no issue whatsoever. We decided we'd move our daughter to a different day care where they could accommodate such basic requests. On her very first day there she had no issue whatsoever using the potty. As much as I want to give a one-star review for FMS based upon this experience, I cannot do it in good conscience because of how nice the teachers were. We appreciate everything Uzma, Urma, and Stephanie did for our daughter. We just feel so sorry for them. To have such a terribly rude micromanager for a boss must make coming to work a nightmare. read more

This place deserves 0 stars. Kids are being neglected there, no one cares if they are sick, bored, cry or wander around. Lack of care they tend to call "promoting an independence". During orientation the director promises she'll be there to support your child, will be sending pictures and keep you posted on whatever's important. In fact neither teachers nor the director communicate anything. As other reviews mentioned, there is lack of hygiene/sanitizing measures, they allow sick kids to attend the school and kids get viruses all the time (more than at other preschools). During our first week at Fountainhead there was an outbreak of a pink eye, then RSV, then Covid etc. Expect that your kids will be staying home sick and you will keep paying the school as they may require prepayment for several months depending on when you enroll. Also the school has too many days off (I believe they follow the public schools' calendar) and you need to pay extra if you want a childcare during those days. We dropped after my kid had a medical emergency and none of teachers nor the director noticed or reported anything. My son ended up at the hospital the very same day which could've been avoided had the staff communicated his condition to me sooner. I believe kids and parents deserve a better treatment considering that this place is pretty expensive for the area. read more

My daughter loves going to this school every day, which makes us happy! The director, Ms. Julianne, has been very approachable and involved, with any questions we had and is always willing to provide us with advice when needed. My daughter's teachers Bhagya and Veronica are very kind and approachable. They always communicated with us on our daughter's school days and how she was doing at school. This allowed us to stay informed and make sure our daughter was receiving the best care. I also appreciate how this school organizes events to involve parents in providing more information on how their child is growing and experiencing what they are learning. read more

I have to share my exit experience with Fountainhead. It starts off with Shandy in taking care of a statement we received. She then mentions their billing system is wrong and then send us a statement that's 5x more. I said there's no way the new amount is correct and as I'm trying to take care of this issue I noticed Shandy being rude and not friendly at all on the phone. After doing research I had to point out to her that her amount is wrong and that the statement amount that we received the first time was correct. I found it difficult to work with Shandy so we reached out to Debra and asked her to call us but she never got back to us. I reached out to Julianne about my kids belongings and medication and shared my experience with Shandy, she said she no longer has their stuff because it's been over a month since she last heard from me which isn't true last time I communicated to her was 10/4/22 and I emailed her 10/26/22 for their belongings. She also didn't acknowledge my bad experience with Shandy. I wouldn't have written this review if someone just acknowledge my frustration I felt and if someone just apologized for the mix up. At the end poor communication is what I got out of this school and I would not refer anyone to them. read more

My child attended this preschool for few months, All I would like to say is this facility is just after your money. Their directors would not respond to any of your communication. The middle person are just want their payment on time, nothing else matters, what a family is going through or anything. My child was enrolled for afternoon schedule, as morning schedule was not available, afternoon schedule costs less, but we were looking for morning slot, which we did get, but just about 2-3 days later, unfortunately her grandmother passed away, and our family had to travel to India immediately, they did not show any goodwill, since it was already near Summer, we did not anticipate her return to school, as she would attend elementary school soon after, and since most of our family are on visa, the situation everyone knows how tough it is to get visa stamp and return, we requested to unenroll and waive the fees, but they were like, even if its end of world, they would stick by their rule book. We also tried to reach directors, as mentioned by one of the teachers, but the middlemen never conveyed the message or directors just ignored, the employees mentioned, they only meet once in a quarter, its more than 3 months, I haven't heard anything. They got the money, so nothing matters. To be clear, they charged full month of morning schedule fees (which she hardly attend any class), which is more the afternoon one. Before this school, she attended a preschool in Milpitas, I would say staff and management was much better there. read more

Our two children have attended FMS since March 2021. Our oldest stayed through the Kindergarten program and is so well prepared for first grade in the public schools, and our youngest has excelled in the preschool. The staff clearly care about meeting each child where they're at and ensuring each child receives the support they need, and the mixed age group classes were phenomenal for teaching our kids confidence by being a "role model" for the younger children. We loved how often the kids came home excited to show us what they learned at FMS. The director, Ms. Julianne, has always been available for any questions we had, and each teacher always communicated with us on our kids' days and how they were doing. This school, and it's teachers, has truly been a blessing for us and our two kids. read more

My son has been attending Fountainhead for a year now, and he is absolutely thriving there! The Director Julianne is amazing, and really does a great job keeping families apprised of what's going on at school, and how the kids are doing. All the teachers are also wonderful, so friendly, my son likes them all! I love how excited my son gets at drop off to see all of his friends. I also love the diversity this school has too, as well as all of the crafts my son brings home with him. Can't wait to get our second son into this school so they can share the same experience. My son has been at Fountain Head montessori since he was 18 months. He is 4 and half now. I have interacted with most of the teachers and they are all awesome and genuinely care for the kids. They have tons of activities and educational sessions through out the day. Our son has gained lot of knowledge over the years and really loves it. Love this school and the staff Excellent clean and open layout for hands on learners like my daughter. The teaching staff is very friendly and attentive. Cozy but excellent playground with sand box and garden boxes, which is my daughters favorite part :) My daughter was new to having a set schedule everyday so it was very difficult for her at first but the staff there was extremely kind and patient with her and did an wonderful job communicating with me so we could ease her in a bit easier and now she's so excited to go to school she runs the whole way there. I especially like the head teacher Julianna, she's done an amazing job guiding my daughter so far. I'm very impressed and will defiantly be sending her there again next year. read more

The best school for my grandson..the teachers are wonderful. We have seen him to be so happy to go to school

Our child joined this school from Oct 2014 until early 2015. Summary: Poor Hygiene. Poor and inexperienced management. The playground is very small and limiting. They don't provide lunch at all. The check-in/out system is pathetic and out dated. We discovered that children don't wash their hands using soap and water, instead, they use wipes! It took the staff multiple weeks to fulfill our request to wash hands. Expect your kids to constantly get sick. Yes, more than the usual daycare sicknesses. Our 2-year old child was hurt and injured multiple times during the short period he stayed there. Unfortunately they blamed my child's balance for that! One time, we had to take him to urgent care because his inner lip had a deep cut and his tooth was loose. We left after that incident and later on enrolled him in a near by, well known, daycare center. Some of the care givers/teachers are good but I would say the majority are just OK. They all look tired and out of energy. read more

My 2.5 year old daughter has been attending Fountainhead Montessori in Livermore since June 2017. My daughter started just as the school hired a new site director (Julianne), and she is amazing! Although my little one was hesitant to start a new school, the staff did a wonderful job with the transition, making sure to welcome her warmly and allowing her to wave at me from the window. If she's upset, they calmly speak to her with reassurance and don't dismiss her feelings with a simple, "oh, you're alright..." Ms. Uzma, the head teacher for my daughter's age group, is just lovely. She's worked closely with us as we continue to help our daughter learn how to use the toilet. Ms. Uzma is incredibly knowledgeable with our daughter's age group's developmental needs and sincerely cares for each child. The other caregivers are also warm and caring. We're very happy with our decision to place our daughter at Fountainhead. She's thriving, and comes home with an ever more expanding vocabulary, self assurance, and awareness. read more

Horrible experience!!! We moved our son from preschool in militias to fountainhead Montessori. No focus on academics were given and the teachers were less experienced and impatient. The director of this campus was very rude and least cared about children's care. We felt that the organization is so money minded and outdated. The worst day care and the worst experience.we regret every minute we spent there. Our child was getting sick every week." wiping hands" not washing hands was taught to kids before meals.The director seemed to be friendly but after enrolling we saw the real side of her...she refused tha we call and check on our kids in the morning! My child has been going here for a while. I would like to say that I'm in love with the place but I'm not. My child loves the head teacher and she is one of the primary reasons that we keep our child at the school. My child has learned quite a bit in the short time since enrollment. I'm not crazy about the Director. She tone of voice has come across as very condescending (with me, not my child). She seems to be under the mistaken impression that her opinion is wanted on how I parent my child. There aren't many Montessori choices in Livermore and I definitely don't want my child going to the Valley Montessori (very snooty staff). A plus that I will give the school is that all of the kids appear to like the staff. read more

My daughter has been enrolled in the toddler program for several months and we could not be happier! She absolutely loves going and when she is not at "school" she is talking about it. She only attends part time but the time she is there has been so beneficial for her. She is more independent, has better language skills, and the social interaction she gets is invaluable. The teachers are friendly and nurturing to the children. My daughter attended a traditional daycare before coming here and she screamed every time I dropped her off. Both of my children attended Fountainhead Livermore campus for a combined total of almost four years. I can't speak highly enough of this school. The director, teachers, and staff provide a nurturing and loving environment for the children to learn and play. My children were instilled with a curiosity to learn and allowed to develop skills at their own pace.
