Love this little dog park in Broomfield! It's very close to the mall, so it's easy to fit a visit…read morein with some shopping and dining. It's off the beaten path and fairly quiet. I love the location, alongside a marshy area with lots of light, fresh plants and shade. There's a nice short loop to walk, and some facilities around as well. The other dogs were friendly and my dog had fun walking around the path. There was a bit of water around but that's usually normal after snow. Great stop for a quick break or play time!

Meant to show what life was back in the agriculture era here, it's a great place to see some well preserved machinery like this Tresher. Lots of money went into these for the farmers and it's interesting to see them in a unique setting. It's also the end of the Coal Creek Trail so a great place for a bike picnic. The buildings themselves usually aren't open but look to be used at times. The machines are in really great condition and you can tell people do not come often. The thresher is huge and really cool up close. I'm sure it made a heck of a noise back in the day!

This park has a great view of some mountains in the distant background and multiple physical activity opportunities for people of abilities the path is wheelchair accessible bicycle welcome and dog friendly. The path is mostly Gravel with no major impossible rats and looks very well maintained there are benches throughout. Just not the initial part where my mom needed one so she turned around and went back. A time was had by all.

Today the high winds up there swirled snow and clouds almost vertically. To the right in this view is Longs Peak in RMNP. To the left is the Indian Peaks Wilderness area due west of Boulder. You might not use this this approach to Boulder on a weekday commute in when it will likely be bumper to bumper going very slow for several miles. And a bit dangerous with snow and ice and high winds at ground level. But on a beautiful clear dry winter day, it is classic and how so many people see Boulder for the very first time.

There's a path for free roaming dogs and a path for dogs on leash. I've never had aggressive dogs seen there! The trails connect to miles of paths further away too. Great place for a sunset walk!

You'll see the playground at Jefferson Avenue and Lafayette Street. The part of the park which we visited is rather small. There is a tennis court and pavilions on the sides of the playground. The playground is nice and well maintained. There are two infant swings and two low-to-the-ground swings. There is a large play structure for bigger kids, and a smaller one for younger kids. There is a small sandbox to the side, too. The park has old, big trees surrounding it, so there's a lot of shade. I think one of the best thing about this park is the parents we encountered. One mom had 5 total kids with her, and we chatted for about an hour. Another pair of parents came by, and one asked if we had left a stuffed animal as we were leaving (we didn't). That was nice. If we ever find ourselves back in the area, we will return here!

Despite all these recreation options, I could only find one porta-potty in the parking lot. No drinking fountains. I confirmed with a regular visitor that was it. It shares a parking lot with the Broomfield Depot Museum so maybe there are restrooms in there? But the Depot Museum is only open on Saturdays from 9-3 according to the website so that doesn't work. My point is come prepared. It's about a quarter mile walk to commercial so that's an option as well. The material under the play structure was all wood chips. Not my favorite but probably the most common material for playgrounds these days. Two toddler swings and one regular swing (I think one was broken). There was also a pretty fun spinning stool shaped like a leaf and one of the ladders going up to the monkey bars also spun. Lots of things to climb on. My toddler had fun. But the lack of restrooms and drinking fountains for such a large park makes me sad.

The girl scout shelter has working restrooms and a water fountain that is also clean and well maintained, the surrounding playground is clean and all the swings and other equipment function properly and is free from graffiti and other forms of vandalism. In the winter the trees along both sides of the road a covered in Christmas lights and while driving by at night it looks like you are driving through a tunnel made of sparkling multi colored lights.
