Thanks to poor care of my teeth many years ago, I've been to Founders Dental three times in the last month and a half. I started there with just a cleaning and checkup, and found out what previous dentists had said would likely happen: I needed a crown on a molar. Additionally, my nighttime teeth grinding has recently started to cause daytime jaw pain. The entire staff at Founders Dental has been stellar in their diagnoses, determination of a care plan, explaining every step to me, and carrying out the work. I've been to plenty of dentists who hurry you through, don't explain things well, don't check on your comfort, and one who was so bad they kept having to retake X-rays (my head probably glows in the dark from that). Founders Dental is the exact opposite of that! They take the time to explain as much as you want to know (they even ask how if you're a details person or a big-picture person on the patient intake form!), they're meticulous in the precision of their work, everyone in the office has a friendly, easy-going manner, and best of all -- for me anyway -- they're gentle when working on your mouth. Maybe it's just me being a 6'3", 285-lb guy who other people have thought they could treat like a lumberjack treats a tree, but I've been to dentists who, when they were inserting a filling, would jab it in there so hard, I could feel it stabbing all the way to my jawbone. When getting a filling (yeah, I had to have that too) at Founders Dental, I was told, "You might feel some pressure now," and I didn't! I did NOT feel it. If you've had the other experience, you know how big of a deal it is to not have to feel something like that.
Add to this magnificently professional and talented staff the fact that their brand-new office in Castle Rock is clean, beautifully decorated, and outfitted with all the best, new technology, and I've never been more at ease at a dentist's office.
One more thing: Upon learning I needed a crown, I asked if Founders Dental was one of those places where they create your new crown right then and there during the same visit. Dr. Larisa Khmil let me know that her office does not do in-house crowns because the better option is to take an accurate mold of the original tooth and send it off to a lab to have a more precise crown created. She said most in-house crowns are made too big and poorly fitting -- something I had wondered about from the last crown I'd had done, which was in an office where they made it right there. It's huge. But the one I just had done at Founders Dental fits perfectly. And the two weeks' wait for it was no big deal, because I was given a totally useful temporary crown which caused me no problems.
In all, I am SUPER impressed by the team and facility at Founders Dental. I wholeheartedly recommend them!! read more
