    Monday Special Beef & Noodles
    Melissa T.

Walking down memory lane. Ate at Dell's in the late 1960's & early 1970's. Surprised it was still open. Glad it was. Our party of three sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant. I don't think the floor layout has changed in all the years. We ordered two cheese burgers & fries and a Monday Special of Beef & Noodle along with two sodas. All that was less than $35. DEAL. Burgers were nice size patties with perfectly toasted buns. Beef and noodles were served over REAL mashed potatoes. The noodles were not homemade which for the price was expected. Generous chunks of meat were found throughout the dish. Oh forgot to say a salad bar was included with the Special. I was pleasantly surprised to find a picked beat juice whole egg. The owner chatted with us. Excellent customer service.

The place is decorated with old lunch boxes and Thermos bottles.

This is a great old style diner. Food is excellent, especially the BBQ ribs. The meat just falls off the bones. Everyone is friendly and there are daily breakfast and lunch specials. Definitely worth a stop if you're near Fostoria.

THE best ribs in Ohio and their famous "fried" mac & cheese is life changing! No wonder they're approaching their 100th anniversary!!!

The food that I've ordered is usually breakfast. It's very good. Definitely a Mom & Pop place. Staff is kind of grumpy.

Good food for sure. My mom loves their Manhattan sandwiches. Small business but they have some good stuff on their menu.

Travelling through Fostoria around dinner time, my wife and I decided to give the town's culinary…read morechops a taste. The first couple of places we tried were apparently "to go" pizza joints with no (or almost no) tables for dining in, so after a couple of false starts, we ended up at R-Place. On entering the establishment, we navigated around locals enjoying themselves, and over the din of the jukebox, told the elderly barkeep that we were there for supper. He said something we could not make out, then fetched menus for us, pointed to the tables, and shouted that we should let him know when we were ready to order. My wife selected one of the higher tables, which I immediately hated because the solid pedestal base left nowhere to put my legs. After picking some menu choices, we pondered how to get the bartender's attention, and eventually decided to just go back up to the bar and shout out our orders of two burgers with lettuce, cheese, ketchup, and mayo, plus an order of pickle fries, and two Vernor's sodas. Before tip, our bill came to $21.20, which seemed pretty standard. The décor was pretty typical for bars that serve food, with lit neon signs advertising various beers, and several flatscreen televisions showing basketball games. A large shuffleboard was along one wall, which was pretty popular during our visit, as was the pool table. While the higher tables looked great and sported both power outlets and USB plugs, there was nowhere to stick your legs, so my wife and I felt like cowboys: her sitting sidesaddle and me man-spreading in an attempt to sit close to the tabletop and the food. Speaking of food, it was delivered by what I can only guess was the kitchen guy. He asked us a question, but neither my wife nor I could hear him over the blaring music, and seeing our blank, confused smiles, he smiled back and returned to the kitchen. The burgers were a decent size and of average taste. Nothing bad about them, but also not spectacularly good. The pickle fries were hot, crispy, and otherwise pretty tasty. A drink refill might have been nice (the Vernor's was one of just two drinks on the menu that were listed as having 1 refill included in the price), but the aged barkeep never came to our table. Going over to the bar to ask for our bill and then cash out, I felt bad for the old fellow that he still had to work at his advanced age, so I left him a 22% tip. PROS: decent sized portions, good pickle fries, reasonable prices, clean restrooms CONS: uncomfortable tables, wait-staff that did not technically wait on us, and REALLY LOUD MUSIC Overall, I rate R-Place as being Good and would return.

First time back to Juniper in a long time, and likely my last trip…read more I ordered the original chicken sandwich. The chicken was so dark and chewy and stringy I honestly could barely get it down. Came with tomato, onion, and a giant piece of soggy lettuce that I had to take off and tear apart to get on the sandwich. I got mayo, too, but you have to pay extra for it! This sandwich has no sauce on it otherwise. The fries were pretty bland as well. Would I ever get this again? Certainly not. Their online menu doesn't have descriptions for the food. That's not acceptable in 2026. And the beer menu was out of date. This makes taking a look at the menus before you visit a waste of time. Another place that I guess expects you to put your bag on the floor in the restroom, both at the sink and in the stalls. Yuck. Their saving grace is their beer, but I think I'll stick to drinking it at other places that carry it.

We were able to taste from a small selection of draft craft beers. We chose a wheat and cider but opted for the cider. Good taste. Not too sweet and a definite aftertaste of berries. Yum. The service was so quick but it was a Monday afternoon before school began. My friend ordered a churrizo burrito. I ordered a chicken wrap with fries. This place offers a coffee shop, craft cocktails wine and beer along with an unusual selection of healthy ( salads and grain bowls) to not so healthy (smash burger and fries) food. I love the spacious rooms and woodwork everywhere. Wish this place was nearby.
