I wanted a vanilla cone before heading back to the bay so the gang and I stopped here for one. We got some swirl, vanilla, and dipped cones and a spicy chicken sandwich. Cashier was efficient and got the order in quickly. We had our ice creams right away and waited a couple minutes for the sandwich. Our ice cream was tasty. Not as creamy as others are but good overall. I took a bite of the chicken sandwich and it tasted like a Dave chickens spicy sandwich. The spicy was pretty spicy. Not a sandwich that I could finish or would be able to finish. Found a booth to sit in and enjoyed our food. Plenty of tables. Place was empty so not hard to find a place to sit. All in all fast and efficient service. read more

I usually just get their milkshakes here and they've all been really good! I finally decided to try one of their sandwiches and went with their Krispy Chicken sandwich. It was very good! I also really like their fries. There is plenty of parking and their drive thru is pretty quick. I don't have any complaints about this location. read more

We come here once in a while for old time sake. Spent $$ and I asked for a cup for water. They said they were out of water cups but wouldn't give me one they use for other drinks. I asked them how much one of their small cups costs and eventually they said $.55. Really? Starbucks only charges $.25! read more

I stopped by Fosters freeze about four weeks ago to get a small hot fudge sundae. After I ordered, she informed me that the price is going to be $13. I told her that she must've misunderstood me. I just wanted a very small little bit of ice cream in a cup with hot fudge on it. She confirmed The price was $13. Needless to say, I moved on to McDonald's and got what I wanted for $3.95. read more

We usually love going to Foster's Freeze. But this time we got kids chicken strips and they were skimpy chips. 2 PIECES! almost empty inside with very little fries. For this we paid $7.50+tax. We hope they do better than that. We ordered regular chicken strips also and they were just fine. So not sure why the kids were not the usual quality. read more

I took my 2 grandchildren for lunch today. 8 and 6 years old. My grandson got a chicken sandwich meal with an up charge for a small shake. My granddaughter got a mini corn dog meal with the shake as well. They both wanted the waffle fries. There's an up charge for those as well. I did not eat. I just got a small soda. It's a 6 oz cup for $3.49 plus a $.10 cup charge. They also charge $.10 each for the cups with the meals. It was over $37.00. The employees were very pleasant. Needless to say, I won't be returning to Fosters Freeze. read more

Been stopping by from time to time for a couple of hot dogs for lunch from the driveup. They come dressed with mustard, catsup, relish, and onion. Not today! They were served bare with a couple of packs of mustard and catsup. No relish nor onions, and...no napkins! Sigh. Another one bites the dust! read more

love it I love the ice cream. It's very tasty and delicious I think it would be better if it had more options tho

PART TWO As we're about to drive off, I loudly say: "thanks man. And hey-- why don't you tell your coworker he can FINISH IN HIS FACE!" because I just couldn't help myself. The icing on the proverbial cake? The return receipt says "(6) chicken strips" and we were absolutely positively given four pathetic "strips" that you could get at Burger King for $2. So, moral of the story? Foster's Freeze has a reputation for being one of the cheaper fast food chains, yet a "freeze" and four chicken "strips" will cost you a whopping $14.70. You can get the same two items at Burger King for less than $5. Oh, and pro tip- never get yourself a job in customer service if you're going to have a chip on your shoulder and say things like "can I finish?" P.S. if you'd like a chill and quiet place to park in the shade to take a toke without being on CCTV, turn the corner as if you're going through the drive-thru line and stop before hanging a left where the menu/speakers are located. Pack that shit, hit it twice, pass it to the homie, blow the ash out the window, pop that bitch in reverse and PEACE THE FUCK OUT! read more

Did you know that this Fosters Freeze CHARGES your card a dollar to use it. If you pay cash your amount is different than if you pay with a card, and the little girl in the window of the drive thru doesn't have any customer service skills, NONE! No where is it posted that you will be charged for using your debit card, THEY ARE THIEVES! Consumer Affairs will be hearing about this! The more people that know that you charge for using your card, the more that will not go! And yes they are thieves. The food we got last night was pretty disgusting too! read more

Welp...this is probably the 3rd time we get foster fries with chicken, bacon, and jalapeño and they forget to put in the sauce. It's so upsetting getting home and eating it dry. Will be telling them give me the sauce separately and hopefully they won't forget. read more

Fosters Freeze - a container of food on a table - Burgers Near Me - Watsonville, California

We stopped here to get some ice cream with our grandson. We ordered a banana split and a chocolate dipped cone. The banana split was ok but small, especially considering it cost a little less than $8.00. The machine to make the dipped cone was not working, but we weren't told that until the employee handed me the cone. I told him "that's supposed to be dipped in chocolate." His response? "It's not working." The reason I'm only giving it two stars, however, is because when I finished the banana split, I went to the restroom to wash my hands, and the soap dispenser was bone dry. I can only hope that the employees wash their hands in the kitchen after using the bathroom. Yuck! So disappointing and disgusting. I will definitely think twice before going to any Foster's Freeze again. read more

Wow, I've been going to foster freeze for some time now, and just learned tonight that if you use a debt card to pay for your food, it costs you more money...it's not posted, why do they charge more money?? I think it's bullshit. So I've decided I'm done spending my money on a company that treats their customers like this. " Gilroy here I come" when my friend said she isn't returning again, the woman said ok. Customer service... is everything. Added: I wasn't saying gilroy here we come to foster freeze, it was about going to gilroy for a better restraunt . Foster freeze in Santa Cruz, was great at one time, even with a price hike, they are still nice. There have been some nice employees, but not many. Thank you for the ones who care about their jobs. Added: I never called you a theve, need to get your story correct before you start accusing someone of something that they didn't say. read more

They have a sign up in the drive through at the window to wear a mask while being served which is more than ok but you can't read the sign bc when the window open (often is) the sign is obstructed. They also put massive amounts of mustard if you ask for mustard only. Which I know is basically here's your FKN mustard. Rude. The sign needs to be moved to the front of the drive through where the menu is. Common sense. read more

Honestly this is one of the only foster freeze still open including Salinas. I moved to Anaheim about a year ago & every foster freeze in the south are either closed up for good or abandoned... LA county including so far. read more

You would think because they charge premium prices for their food, the food would be of equal quality. We upgraded upgraded all our meals to waffle fries, which was a waste of money because the oil in the fryer is long overdue to be changed so they tasted awful. We were puzzled as to why the buns were so greasy, do they set the cooked patties on the paper before the completed burger is wrapped? And all the burgers were slathered in sauce when no extra sauce was requested. They made a cheeseburger when a hamburger was ordered, and the cheese was impossible to take off because the hamburger was overloaded with sauce. A disappointing fast food meal for three people for $45. read more

Fast service and very polite i order a rootbeer float and explained them how i wanted it and it was perfect for sure coming back.

Stopped by for a choc chip malt & after getting over the sticker shock, my malt was AWFUL! I worked at a fosters as a kid. This was not the quality I'd had in the past from other stores. It took the girl at least 10 repeats of our order to get it right, then mine - as I said- was terrible. Malt at the bottom not mixed in and little if any ice cream. How hard is it to make a malt? This store either needs to train its workers better or perhaps just doesn't care. read more

I went to foster freeze to get my three year old a corn dog and have never been so disappointed since today. -i cannot believe this place is still in business -it always looks dead in there -my sister jez would take me there a lot when i first came from the PI, esp. after dairy queen closed -i miss having a dairy queen in town....but anyway -sister would get us chocolate covered cones, or the cherry ones -it's a nice place to sit down and just chill cuz it's so dead -but i prefer the drive thru since my ass is always on the run -typical high school students' work place, all zit infested face and braces galore but really nice and polite -i hate the bumps in the parking lot -i crave shieyt when i'm on my rag so, i made a drive out there tonight -would say their food is better than jack in the crack =PLEASE DON'T CLOSE ON ME OR MY PERIODS WOULD BE SO UNHAPPY read more

Myself and my friends ordered in the Uber eats app, and we all got food poisoning. I'm making a report.

Said it closed at 1am and at 12:01, they said they had just closed. Who does that? Put a sign that says if you're in line at 11:58 and we can't get to you until after 12am, don't even bother getting in line. Back up and drive away. read more

Went here again on 12/ 03/ 14. Late night ice cream outing before going home to video game some more. The 2 ladies who helped us at the counter were Emily and Jackie. Their smiles and willingness to help this undecided couple was refreshing. Normally at joints like this we get a funny look and a "do you know what you want?"... not this time. Patient and helpful - thank you ladies! Plus the ice cream was yummy. On the downside, there aren't any available outlets except by the bathrooms. I don't really fancy sitting by the bathrooms so that's a ding in my book but it's not like Watsonville has a lot of Fosters Freezes to go to. So you're kinda stuck if you want to take advantage of their Thursday $1.29 dipped cone specials. read more

Gross. My burger tasted straight from my high school cafeteria. I didn't even finish half of it because it was so terrible. The lettuce was yellow and the bun seemed stale. read more

I want to VERY CLEAR this review is for the non soft serve treats side of this 50+ year old fast food chain. It's been years since I've had a hamburger from Fosters Freeze. So I stop in a little after lunch and the place is pretty quiet. Only ONE person dining in. The rest of the passing crowd were coming and going licking their ice cream treats on this 90+ degree October day. I went up to the counter and told the very "odd" older guy...who's got to be one of the oldest fast food order takers...I haven't eaten a hamburger here in ages. He told me in these words..."oh, well then you're in for a real treat.!" in a Forrest Gump sort of way. I was waiting for a fast food jingle to come over the loud speakers...hmmm. So, I end up ordering the "Classic" combo. Well, my memory may not be what is used to be but I know that this burger seemed larger in size in years past visits. I mean remove the mound of lettuce, tomato slice, and cup of goo and you have your basic "kids" 1/8 oz hamburger an order of fries and a medium drink for $4.99 (plus tax). Maybe I should have gone with the "Little Fosters Kids meal"...would have gotten a toy and the cheaper price. If you're wanting to have a decent size combo meal be prepared to pony up $7+ for other options. I'm off to "Have it your way Ronald McDonald but where's the beef!" read more

If you're going there, go only for the Blizzards. They are over-priced but good. I got a chili dog and was automatically charged an extra 70 cents for a few shreds of cheese on top that I didn't ask for. A crappy chili dog that costs $3.50? And when I tried to call in to complain, the phone rang and rang and rang until some automated system picked up that demanded I enter a code to continue. I called the number on the receipt and the one listed online for that location. Will not return. Also, did they get a discount on speed bumps or something? read more

I usually come here on ice cream runs because of the drive thru. I'm a lazy ass, plus it's usually late. I usually stick with a Twister or from time to time eat a sundae, then hate myself afterwards. I haven't been inside to eat it so long, but it's always empty. The food is typical fast food fare. I suggest go with the grilled cheese. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER! The teenage girls that work there were so rude to us, yelling at us for not wearing a mask when we got to the window. We were not aware that we needed one in our car, but happily obliged to put on one even though we were treated so nasty. They handed us our ice cream cones while we had to wait another 10 minutes for our food and were told we could not sit there and eat our ice cream in our car with our masks off. Not sure how you eat ice cream any other way. The food was cold and disgusting when we got it. Service - awful, Food - awful. The girl serving us our food had filthy hands with gloves on (dirty and touching her face) and the garbage was overflowing in the drive thru lane, NEVER GO TO THIS FOSTER FREEZE! NASTY GROSS!!!! read more

This used to be my favorite place to go get ice cream and now every time we go something is always wrong. Last time we went their ice cream machine wasn't working correctly so I had to ask for my money back after the girl handed me a yellow frosty looking thing that was supposed to be a vanilla cone. I just left again today without anything because their card machine was down and after waiting for 15 minutes behind another customer the girl told me that they can only take cash. This place is loosing my business. read more
