Fosters Freeze is the place you go when you want a big juicy burger, crinkle cut fries, a jalapeño and a cold drink to wash it down with. I usually order the old fashioned add cheese, bacon and onion because I'm a grown up (ish) and I pay for my own things now. If the burger is done right then it's going to be delicious all the way until the end. Once in a while we just go for a twister, banana split or a simple vanilla cone (dipped if I'm feeling fancy) Everything is made to order and in front of you. This location has gone down hill! We used to love taking our kids here for an after school ice cream. Unfortunately today we decided to stop by for an end of the week, after school treat. The service was terrible. The person taking our order was rude and barely responsive as I ordered; glaring a hole in my head as I made my selections. The table was filthy, so I asked for napkins to clean it. Again I was met with a disgusted expression and zero verbal response. The music playing was full of expletives - which doesn't bother me, but is not something I like my young son to listen to. Then there's the food. The fries were greasy and tasted of old, dirty oil. The final straw was the curly hair my wife found at the bottom of her banana split! This is definitely the last time we visit the Selma location. Before all that hype for INO, this was the original OG Triple OG of California old school style burger-flipping-shake-blending joint. The food is incredible, I'll definitely try to at least hold my urges to eat to take more pictures. They keep their fryer nice and hot, which makes for absolutely anything they fry awesome. Their fries are the best anywhere, guaranteed. Their burgers are huge. I recommend the Double Decker. I tried their tacos too, it sure is better and healthier than Taco Bell (anything is) Foster Freeze tacos are delicious, very simple and hearty. As if the burgers and fries weren't good enough, they have REAL ice milk shakes, with real malt. Does the owner not know what is going on in the world right now. Most businesses during this COVID19 pandemic are trying their best to comply with safety best practices. Not this place. After eating here, I feel like I should be monitoring my temperature for the next 14 days. 1. There are no markings on the ground for customer Social Distancing, customers piled up on top of one another. 2. They physically take your card and hand it back to you without sanitizing their hands in-between customers. 3. They give you a dirty un-sanitized pen to sign with. 4. No one is wearing a face covering or gloves when preparing food. 5. Instead of them providing wrapped plasticware, your spoon is grabbed bare-handed by employee and plopped in your desert. 6. The counter the person before you leaned on is not being sanitized between customers. Nothing is. This is so disappointing. Clearly the franchise owner does not care about their employees or the community their employees are serving. Basic sanitation should be followed at all times not just during a pandemic.
