We feel incredibly lucky to have had Angela as our doula because our birth experience (including…read moreall the prenatal touch points and postpartum) would not have been the same or as positive without her as we recently welcomed our baby boy. We immediately hit it off after facetiming (we found Angela via Doula Match) - Angela exudes such a calming and grounding presence and is the perfect balance of bringing evidence based knowledge/approaches and positivity. She was super flexible and catered to our needs and wants throughout it all. We had an induction birth and leading up to it, Angela provided so many helpful resources (e.g. referrals, videos, articles etc) to help me prepare and supplemented any gaps I felt I had with my OB. During my labor, Angela had ALL the tricks and tools handy to help me get through the physical and mental pain and was right by our side throughout it all providing words of encouragement and also fit in perfectly with our care team (e.g. getting me into different positions, advocating for me to have time to labor down before pushing). It was such a mental relief walking into the induction knowing she was going to be there to support me and my husband as it was my first time delivering. I really can't think of a single negative or constructive thing to say about Angela - she was the absolute best decision and a small part of me wishes I was still pregnant to be working with her ha! Angela is worth every penny as a doula and you will walk away with a friend as well. Can't recommend her enough! THANK YOU ANGELA!!

If you're considering hiring Angela, do it. It was one of the best decisions my partner and I made…read moreduring my pregnancy, and I can confidently say she was worth every penny. From our very first conversation, we were drawn to Angela's calm, grounding presence. She immediately made me feel safe, and I had a strong sense that I would be well cared for, which turned out to be absolutely true. We were also impressed by her experience, her commitment to continuing her education, and her familiarity with both my OBGYN and the hospital where I delivered. What set Angela apart most was how completely judgment-free she was. From the beginning, she made it clear that her role was to support my birth, not impose her own opinions. From decisions such as considering an induction or planning to get an epidural, she always provided balanced, evidence-based information and helped me think through my options without ever trying to sway my decisions. She empowered me to make informed choices that aligned with my values and birth plan. During labor, Angela was everything I hoped for and more. She was my emotional anchor, a wonderful advocate in the hospital, and an incredible support for my partner. Since our families live far away, she filled such an important role for us, bringing warmth, reassurance, and steady guidance throughout the entire experience. After I got my epidural, she continued helping me labor by guiding me through different positions to encourage progress, and she always seemed to know exactly what I needed in the moment. One thing I especially appreciated was how she built genuine relationships with the nurses caring for us. She took the time to get to know them and even brought small appreciation gifts. It created such a positive atmosphere, and we ended up with an amazing care team that made our hospital stay even better. The prenatal meetings were another highlight. They were thoughtfully structured and left me feeling informed and confident going into labor. Practicing labor positions and comfort techniques with my partner beforehand made a huge difference, and seeing all the tools and techniques Angela had in her toolbox gave me confidence that I'd be well supported no matter how my labor unfolded. What many people may not realize is that Angela's care doesn't end after delivery. We scheduled our postpartum visit for the day we came home from the hospital, and it was one of the best decisions we made. She helped me get my recovery supplies organized, set up the baby's bassinet and other essentials, and made our transition home feel so much less overwhelming. One of the most meaningful gifts she gave us was a beautifully written birth story that she documented throughout my labor and delivery. It's such a special keepsake that I'll treasure forever. Looking back, I honestly can't think of anything I wish Angela had done differently. She exceeded every expectation we had. My partner and I are so grateful for her guidance, compassion, wisdom, and unwavering support.

I cannot say enough about Emilee Benner. Nine months ago, I had never even heard the word "doula"…read moremuch less knew what it meant. Today, as my wife and I are proud parents of a beautiful three-week-old girl, I couldn't imagine either of us getting through it without her. She was enthusiastic, supportive, nurturing, responsive, and 100 percent committed to shepherding us through the final, difficult months of pregnancy, and beyond. She guided us through a 26-hour labor and was by our side and actively assisting for the last 10 hours. She advised us when to go to the hospital, and was our advocate the entire time we were at the hospital. We wanted a natural birth, and if it wasn't for Emilee we wouldn't have known how to navigate around the hospital's standard operating procedure (IVs, Pitocin, pain medications, epidurals) in order to have the birth that we wanted. For guys who are reading this, the biggest question you will have is "is my wife in labor." Unless you've been through it, you have no idea what a "real" contraction is versus a Braxton-Hicks contraction, especially toward the end when the Braxton-Hicks start coming more often and more intensely. Also, there are other things that can happen toward the end that are a bit scary and even if you've taken all the classes (which we did) you will not know what is normal and what is not. I ended up texting and calling Emilee way more than my wife did, and to her great credit she always responded within minutes. The other big question is "when should we go to the hospital." There is no way that we would have been comfortable doing most of the labor at home if Emilee was not there with us. We would have gone immediately after labor started and our experience would have been much different. But a good doula will "know" when it's time. Emilee also didn't stop helping us after my wife gave birth. She has helped immensely with putting us in touch with milk donors and has checked in on us multiple times. She shows her passion with everything she does. We were lucky to have her.

We interviewed more than 10 doulas before meeting Emilee. The moment she walked into our apartment,…read morewe knew she was the one. She has a great down-to-earth energy, but is also very frank. She was the only doula who actually asked us more questions than we asked her. She seemed genuinely interested in our birth and we were as excited to work with her as she with us. Emilee is very knowledgeable. I consider myself a bit of a research junky, but I always learn something new after a meeting with Emilee. Her meetings with us before and after the birth were very informative and helpful. During the birth, she followed our lead beautifully and added bits of her own that really made our day run smoothly. From aromatherapy to massage to different positions and breathing, I always felt like Emilee would have 5 more ideas if something wasn't working. In the end I had a very short (10 hour) first labor and I know Emilee was a big part of that. She helped give me the confidence to let my body and my baby do what they needed to do. Thank you Emilee. You're amazing!

She was also a valuable resource for myself and my husband for questions, support and general education and information. Her capsules and tincture packaging were very high quality and came with detailed and valuable instructions. I can't stress enough how grateful we were!! As for consuming my placenta, I felt a distinctive difference the days I took the capsules vs. the days I forgot to take them. I also never had any postpartum depression and I truly believe it was the placenta medicine that saved me. I would HIGHLY recommend this (and Emilee!) to anyone having a baby!

I had the pleasure of working with Sada as my doula during my pregnancy, and home birth this fall…read more Sada was amazing! I personally really enjoyed taking her yoga classes at Golden Sol in Los Feliz, she has an extensive array of knowledge - from pregnancy to birth and the journey onward into motherhood. I felt supported and empowered by the information Sada supplied me with. My husband and I also took private childbirth ed classes with her. Sada seemed to be especially passionate about home-birth, but when I would see her interact with women having hospital births she had SO MUCH information to share with them about the hospitals and doctors they'd be working with. It was amazing really, and part of the reason I was so drawn to working with her. My labor was about 33.5 hours total, and at the first sign of labor (my labor started hard and fast) Sada came over and sat with me so my husband could get some rest since we had a big day ahead. When she came back the next afternoon, I was still laboring, and completely exhausted. She helped me (and my team) stay focused, and was the strong energy I needed to get through my slow labor. Leading up to my labor Sada was a continuous support system for my husband and I. She checked in with me, counseled me, hugged me when I needed a hug and really took the time to dive in deep so that she could help me have the experience I wanted. After my baby was born, we had a lovely visit a few days later sharing fruit, gawking at all the hair on my sweet babes head, and discussed the happenings of my birth. : ) I ended up making smoothies with my placenta, so i did not need to utilize LABK's placenta medicine services, but Emiliee did teach me how to make a tincture just incase I wanted to make one with any left over placenta (which I ended up doing). Sada was lovely to work with, and I just wish she did postpartum classes because I miss her! :)

Nancy has the warmest, most nurturing presence -- she's kind, caring, and incredibly intuitive. She's the kind of person who comes into your home and immediately becomes part of your family. She helped us get both babies on a schedule and guided us through all the uncertainty that comes with those first few weeks. For every question, she had an answer. For every challenge, she had a plan to overcome it. More than anything, Nancy became our village when we didn't have one. Her support meant everything to our family, and we were so grateful to have had her by our side during such an important time. We've joked that we'd have a third child only to have Nancy back with us for another extended period of time. We truly cannot recommend her highly enough! Separately, I experienced Nancy's Mayan postnatal massage and the Closing of the Bones ceremony. As with everything she does, Nancy was so caring and ensured the massage was tailored to my body's specific needs. The Closing of the Bones ceremony helped me feel so centered and calm, like I had put a big, beautiful bow on my pregnancy journey, and was ready to move forward with getting back to my regular self. It was an incredibly special experience that I would recommend to all new moms.

Stacey brings a calming yet empowering presence, something that can be hard to find in a hospital birth setting. That, paired with the incredible preparation and education she provided to me and my husband, gave me the confidence I needed going into my unplanned induction at 41 weeks. Her support didn't end after birth. Stacey continued to check in with me during those early postpartum weeks and connected me with resources including the lactation consultant and perinatal therapist who became hugely important parts of my postpartum support system. One thing worth noting is YES Stacey is busy and YES your prenatal appointments may be rescheduled (possibly multiple times, which stressed me out beyond belief as a first time mom who had insisted to her husband that investing in a doula would be worth it). However, I learned that this just comes with the territory of working with a doula who is on call for other births and (rightfully) prioritizes a client in labor over a prep appointment. This was hard for me to sit with but I ultimately chose to trust that when it was my turn, she would show up as she said she would, and she did. Be patient and trust the process, because Stacey's superpower truly shines in the birthing room, supporting you as you bring your baby earthside and in those early hours post-birth. I'm so grateful for her support and can't imagine my first birth experience without her!

The best investment!…read more I can't express how grateful I am for Eileen! I booked her to help us with our first child when I was still in my first trimester of pregnancy because I knew I would probably feel a bit overwhelmed (and tired). She came over to the house when I was at the end of my pregnancy and looked at everything we had set up in preparation, suggested a few additional helpful items, and gave us peace of mind going into the birth. After we gave birth (and were exhausted after 3 nights of no sleep at the hospital) she was at our house the night we brought our son home and it was SO nice to have her support after such an intense experience. I originally planned on having her help us for 6 weeks but found her support to be so valuable we extended to 12 weeks. She started her doula training in 2012 so I was confident in her advice after working with so many babies over the last 14 years. She is also a mom herself. She helped us successfully drop night feeds (as developmentally appropriate) and now we have a great little sleeper. I always looked forward to the nights she was coming over because I knew I would get some rest and I could ask her any questions I had (should we try swaddling him with arms out, what should we do about his dry skin, etc). Waking up to clean baby clothes and sterilized bottles and pump parts was lovely too :) I can't imagine starting our parenthood journey without her and would 1000% recommend her to any expecting parents! We will miss Eileen and can't wait to work with her again with our next child.
