It's perfect for families, date nights, or even just a cozy night out with friends. The beer garden is a great touch for adults, while kids (and kids at heart) can enjoy hot cocoa and funnel cakes. There were five Grinch- themed trees. Many of the trees were decorated very nicely. It's a beautiful sight to see. We went on the Carousel, and we did two rounds of Mini-Golf, which was fun. We also went down the Avalanche twice. Stringbean went three times. Gone are the years of seeing all of the Gingerbread Houses. Now, there are a lot of fundraising food/drink stands, I get it, it's an organization.

I visited the Pearson Community Center for an event and was blown away by the beautiful mural…read moreinside the building. I didn't even get to take a photo of it because I didn't notice it when I first walked in - yes, it was as if I was a horse wearing blinders. Anyway, when I went to use their restroom was when I actually noticed the beautiful artwork. I asked the beautiful lady at the front desk if it was a local artist who painted the murals. She said it was an artist from Los Angeles named Mike Norice. If you Google-search Pearson Community Center + Mike Norice, you'll see a few videos on this place. It was breathtaking to say the least. Just absolutely beautiful the work he did, which is called "Unsung Pillars of the Westside". There were other works of art (mixed media) throughout the lobby from community members that I found to be beautiful as well. While I was inside one of the rooms, the place did feel a bit warm - to be fair, the weather was around 115°. Anyway, I enjoyed what I saw but wished it were a little cooler in the side rooms.

What a fun day cleaning books for kids! Our local work group, Southern Nevada CCIM, along with our…read moreoffice, NAI Excel, volunteered this afternoon. Our group (along with several volunteers from 3pm-5pm) cleaned 5,000 books! Spread the Word helps students with the gift of reading by providing much needed books at no cost to the readers and their families. The non-profit is always looking for gently used books, so if you have any to donate, please do. All ages are accepted because they have programs for other family members, too.
