They always put me in a good mood when I went in to pay my bills. -Fast maintenance. Literally would put in a request and it would be fulfilled within the next two days. I've never had such fast maintenance in a complex. -Very safe. I have never felt unsafe coming home late at night, or have had any strange encounters with other residents. My car has had no damage done to it, I always felt okay leaving it parked. -No surprises. There were no hidden fees or anything of that sort. Neighbors were respectful. -Overall a great experience! The bad: -Parking can be challenging. We ended up having to pay $25 more for another spot a month because the visitor parking is not always guaranteed. -Small Apartments. Pretty cozy in these apartments! But you get what you pay for. -Meh appliances. Kind of cheap W/D, shelf in kitchen broke, handle on bathroom mirror fell off. Maintenance was always very responsive in these situations though, so I can't really say it was too bad. And again... you get what you pay for, and we had a cheaper unit. -Children can be loud. Overall they are sweet and respectful kids, just be aware if this is something that bothers you.

The pictures were accurate and it was very clean and mostly remodeled inside. We were very happy to have found this apartment as it fit our needs very well. The gated area makes it feel very private and it is quiet with a view outside. The tenants were 90% the same ones the whole time so are long term and all were very friendly and quiet. We hadn't lived in an apartment before (always had houses) so we were glad our first experience was a good one. The neighborhood right outside the gate leaves a lot to be desired (reason for 1 less star) but less then 10 min away is the Southcenter mall area which is nice and has all you need. For our dog there was a grass area in the common area within the gated area that was perfect for her. The laundry facilities were good, no issues there and weren't too high priced either. The staff was quick to respond to anything we needed and cared about us enjoying our stay. Finding a furnished apartment at this price was hard to find so we were very satisfied. We would recommend it to someone in a similar situation as us or even for a longer time would be fine.

I feel compelled to write this review for a couple of reasons: First, because of the very pleasant…read morestay we had from March to June of 2014 while visiting from Canada, and second because of the disparaging and untrue remarks left in a previous post: Let me start by saying that Tukwila is not Bellvue, and unless you want to pay three times the price for a fully furnished apartment then you've found the right place. About ten blocks from Sunrise Suites is a very ethnically diverse area, full of small shops from countries all over the world, which I frequented regularly and never felt uncomfortable or out of place. A few blocks in the other direction is the new Deptartment of Homeland Security office, Boeing headquarters, and you are also close to Microsoft and the airport ( a large number of the tenants in Sunrise are people who work at those companies). By car you are about ten minutes from Tukwila mall, that has anything and everything you could possibly want. From Chipotles, to Macy's, Teavana, Starbucks, Target, banks, to upscale ( and awesome ) sushi, Thai food, the movies, and pretty much anything you can think of. You are close to the Tukwila train station that will take you to Seattle central in about 25 minutes for $3.50 each way, or you can drive into the city in about 15 mins during off-peak hours. Our apartment was just like the photos, and the service was beyond our expectations. One thing a previous poster mentioned is that Sherry and her family are very charming -- This is absolutely true! And if you are fortunate enough to deal with this family I can tell you that you will instantly notice that the charm comes from a true, honest -- and actually a very loving place -- in terms of the desire to provide you with good value for your money while staying there. For the price, location and quality, I honestly don't think you could do much better. It's worth booking an appointment to check it out and decide for yourself. If you have any questions about my experience while staying there please feel free to contact me and I would be more than happy to respond. Best Regards, Shawn Phillips stphillips1969@gmail.com

I can't really review this place to the best of my ability as a tenant, but as a guest I do know that visitor parking is almost non-existent. Plus, the biggest thing that puts me off is how management drug their feet to take care of the BABY COCKROACH problem she was having. Ew. Ew. Ew. Everything is out-dated. The only thing that they've really done is re-painted the walls once someone moves out. After visiting here, I wouldn't recommend moving into this place. The nice thing about it is it's literally right next to the light rail, within walking distance. Downside is...it's literally right next to the light rail so you can hear it go by every 10-15 minutes. & it's also right next to the airport, so you can hear planes coming & going.

It is an older building but I stayed in a 1 bedroom and it was pretty spacious in the bedroom, living, and dining. The kitchen was a bit small. The unit was neat overall. Walls were painted, carpet cleaned (carpet everywhere except bathroom and kitchen) and appliances were clean. There's plenty of storage space. Walls are thick bc I never heard my neighbors. No laundry in the unit but there is one on every floor. A key is needed to enter the room. The hallway would smell from time to time. I think it was from people's dinner? Although it is along a main road in Seatac, I felt pretty safe. The grounds were cleaned every Wednesday. It's close to the airport and the light rail and that made me think I would always hear them. However, when I was inside I couldn't hear it. Maybe I did when I had my windows open but for the most part, the community is quiet. We were assigned our own parking spot with no additional cost. One thing I didn't like was the visitor parking. There was about 4 spots AND there's no street parking. I had to tell my guests to park across the street at the post office. It's a good thing my guests came at night bc the post office won't let visitors park during business hours. There's a swimming pool, bbq area, and basketball court. I never used them but it was good to them it there if I wanted to.

The building we moved into was new but all buildings and yards are maintained regularly and with high standards. Maintenance has only been needed a few times but the response time was usually within hours! The office has been extremely easy to deal with. Nice personnel!!!! I put multiple exclamations marks because ALL office managers/workers seem truly interested in what they can do to make our stay comfortable and nice. Jay and Bridgette are the two on staff right now and I like them a lot! There is a small gym downstairs filled with modern, very expensive equipment. It has been a life saver for me since I am in a wheelchair and can't do much walking (recumbent bicycle is my go to!) There is a modern elevator which is also perfect for those with mobility problems and sure does help a lot when moving in! It's quiet here--for an apartment complex. I know there are children, but we just don't hear them. Friday night brings visitors, of course, so it gets a little louder but usually everyone respects the legal quiet time -- almost always! I am older, so this is helpful for us old folks. Negatives: Parking is the only thing I struggle with. And it seems to be the only thing most of my neighbors struggle with. I'm handicapped and quite often have to deal with autos taking over the handicapped spots with no placard. (And the usual "I'm gonna use my grandma's placard and park close because it's convenient" even when we NEVER see a handicapped person occupy that auto is prevalent here just as it is in shopping centers.) Unfortunate but I don't have an answer. Weekends we fill up quickly with guests--but what can I say? That's it for now. If you come here, I am a good neighbor to have.

They aren't owned nor managed by a single company. The Bristol Apartments, for example, is owned by one investment company that is different than the empty towers and the Hyatt is a Hyatt property. It's a bit confusing if this review is for the neighborhood? Do we review neighborhoods now? And it is for all intents and purposes a neighborhood. There's one road in and one road out with the Hyatt, the Bristol, Tra, Peyrassol, the Seattle Family Center, Dock and Drink, and Water's Table filling out the portfolio. It is very pleasant with Coulon Beach Park next door and excellent viewing of fireworks when that resumes. With the parking garage there's plenty of parking though I cannot stress more than ever do not leave any valuables in sight in your vehicle. Southport may be isolated, but that isn't a deterrent for thieves. Personally I'd recommend parking where there's foot traffic since the upper levels are vacant I've only seen smashed out windows at those levels. And it is a pleasant place! In the summers it is busy. The water is so close and the views amazing. I love the four restaurants. It can get loud, and with the exception of a few incidents in 2020 due to people being angry about the mandates at the time it is a very safe space where families, dog walkers, and cute couples gather. Many a wedding takes place in the warmer months so it isn't uncommon to see beautiful gowns and fancy tuxedos, though I'm partial to the Indian weddings since the guests come in beautifully colored saris. There is a lot of diversity at the waterfront and that makes it a wonderful place to be. The winters can be busy too with Coulon Beach Park putting up lights for the holidays and Argosy cruises bringing the Christmas boats by. I always appreciate the carolers. I only wish people would acknowledge the road properly. Drivers ignore the speed limit signs, occasionally just stop in the middle street, or try to double park. Pedestrians often aren't much better because though there's a great sidewalk that connects the docks to the Bristol running up to Coulon Beach Park they'll just walk down the middle of the road like it's a bike path. I have seen a few close calls with pedestrians almost being hit because they're walking down the road instead of the sidewalk. It is a great area.

The property manager was responsive, and the staff was almost always friendly. The only issue we had with staff happened about a month and a half into living in our apartment when we discovered under our sink was leaking. At first it was just a bit of water so we both assumed the other had been spilling, but it grew and grew until under the kitchen sink was essentially flooded. The day we realized what had been happening we went into the management office and told them. They said they would send someone to look at it the next day, which never happened (which is okay, with this many units you expect some miscommunication from even the best), so a few days later we sent in a work order. All three of us are young college students so wanting to be polite, we submitted a work order that said something along the lines of "Not urgent, just whenever you can get to it!". This might have been a mistake, but again we are all young and trying to be polite. We received a notification that they would be coming on Friday morning, and the maintenance guy did. My fiance and I were at the grocery store when our roommate called us, sounding a bit freaked out, and asked us to come home. The maintenance guy had (and I was not there so I do not know exact quotes) said something along the lines of "since you didn't report this when you first knew, you might have to pay for the repair and it might be thousands of dollars". I know he said something like this because he discussed it again when we got home, and I mentioned that we had come in person and nobody had come, and the "extensive mold" he had pointed out couldn't have formed so quickly. We did end up not getting charged for it (at least so far, our lease is not technically up for a few more weeks although we are moved out), which is good since we definitely should not have been, and things were otherwise fine. Residents would leave trash all over the place and management had it picked up frequently which was great (although gross of the other residents to do that). Overall, I like to cut people the benefit of the doubt and assume that the guy we talked to was just having a bad day and not trying to intimidate us because of our age, and the one other time we talked to him he was quite nice, so 4/5 stars. We also had a bit of mold in our apartment but that is common in the area and it was only in the windowsills during the winter. It definitely isn't the fanciest place in the world but for the price I would absolutely recommend it. (My yelp is under a fake name, not designed to hide anything but because in the past I had a business owner track me down on Facebook based on my review. I'm sure the property manager would know who this is based on the details and I am fine with that!)

She got promoted and moved out of state for one of their other locations and the staff was subpar/took a lot personally than handling business, with the exception of some of the maintenance staff and Kristin was consistently cool. Renewing your lease over certain amount of years they try to offer retention incentives, like carpet cleaning and/or cleaning of your bathroom or moving to another unit without paying extra. Moving out is fairly straightforward and if you do a good job cleaning up, you will get your deposit back. I was so thrilled with my unit. Gym and pool area is really nice and so close to all the attractions within the Landing, Boeing headquarters, the 405 and 5, SeaTac, and during summer training season. Plenty of space within the unit compared to most places in downtown Seattle and parking is about 50 a month in the resident parking area (although my car did get broken into after multiple break ins in other vehicles in the garage & i had rats in the engine on another occasion- they do not keep it clean out there in the garage!). Be aware of hidden fees (valet trash but it does not get picked up near your door w the staffs shifts & the trash in the chutes) and things not getting fixed like the security gate or one of the elevators were never fixed due to a part they somehow never received in for at least a year). I also entered a ticket 7 times to get my washer/dryer replaced and it still takes multiple cycles to dry. Hopefully the safety and security has improved since I left, and no one is pulling the alarm from the street every so often even the fire department and people got tired of responding. They also tow cars they shouldn't and dont on the ones they should..the ones who enforce it dont even check the facts and incriminate everyone. Also make sure you are courteous to those who deliver your groceries to you: dont leave them without any instructions in a place like this!
