The medical assistant Ashley did a very nice job drawing the blood. I usually get bruises after blood draw and pain for a couple of days. With Ashley I didn't feel anything and no bruising for days. The entire premise of this service is to come into one of their locations and let them use this state-of-the-art technology to help you get your baseline and measure your progress over time. All of their marketing and videos online show you all this cool technology they are going to use to evaluate you and track your progress. For me the key factor in deciding if I was going to sign up was how long it would take for me to get in to do my baseline visit. At $149 a month I didn't want to waste a month waiting for my first appointment. So I called up customer support to see when the first baseline appointment might be available. They told me they couldn't see the calendar for locations but that it will be between 1 day and 10 days. They told me the only way I could see the calendar was to sign up. When I asked if I could cancel if it was too far out to get an appointment, they assured me I could. I figured I would call back and talk to someone else and see if I got the same story. When I called back I was told that the only way was to sign up with them on the phone and then if the schedule was too far out they could cancel me on the spot. Sigh. Ok. So I give him my payment information and he sends me a link to download the app. I download the app but of course it won't let me see the schedule unless I complete my medical profile. #$%*#@ So I complete my profile and it tells me I can only do a virtual visit. Not because of COVID mind you. The guy on the phone has no idea why they are only offering virtual visits. He guesses it might be because the time to get an in-person visit is so far out they don't offer in-person visits since they take 2x as long. So after all that BS there was never a way for me to do an in-person visit in the first place. What a bait and switch!!! I am reminded of Theranos. A couple of drops of blood and get all your tests done...just kidding. We need to do a normal blood draw. I ask to speak to a manager to share my experience so that hopefully they can help others avoid my experience. I am told that they can't escalate to a manager but they can give me some general email boxes to tell my tale of woe to. Great. Now this next part is 100% my fault because I am a glutton for punishment. Because the location in Chicago is only like a mile from my place and because I really did want to try the service, I hoof it over to the location. My logic was that if anyone can see the schedule it would be the people that work at the facility. Wrong! When I go into the location there is a guy in the front area and before I even open my mouth he tells me they can't do signups in the location. Weird but OK. I ask him to just please find out when / if I can get an in-person visit because online and in their call center no one seems to have a clue. He pecks away at his computer for a few minutes and looks confused. He says they only seem to have virtual visits. I ask if they really don't do in-person visits any more since that is the core premise of their service offering. He looks genuinely perplexed. He tells me he is going to get a manager. The Manager comes out and tells me that in fact they no longer do in-person baseline visits but that subsequent visits can be done in person. I was just speechless. As I was walking home I decided to check my credit card to see if I was refunded like I was assured I would be. Guess what...they charged me TWICE!!! I actually laughed out loud. I have never had such a fantastic experience with a medical facility. The staff is warm and caring and their followup has been remarkable. My overall mental and physical health has never been better. I wish Forward was around 20 years ago. I appreciate the no wait time spent sitting in a waiting room and the fast and prompt attention provided to all my needs. The Care Team through the App has been just as fantastic. The peace of mind to have 24/7 medical care is priceless. I read some of the other reviews here and have definitely not experienced any of those "complaints" that others stated. I back Forward and their philosphy of the future of medicine 100% and appreciate them everyday. read more

I would not recommend this doctor. The experience was not good. They used false advertising to get clients interested, and then made very poor suggestions. During their "baseline" visit, they pick apart your health and make it seem worse than it is, and try to fix things that are not broken. They do this in an attempt to make long term plans with them that are not necessary. During my visit, they prescribed me unnecessary medications that are recalled, and unsafe to take. No pharmacy carries those medications, because they are recalled. They also advertise same/next day appointments available. They are not. They book a few weeks out. read more

Nicest doctor and most comfortable experience I've ever had at a doctor. I've been putting off going to the doctor for 6 years because of anxiety. This is the only time I can remember feeling like the doctor wasn't somehow antagonistic or condescending. They also seemed to place a pretty high priorty on mental health, which is really vital for me personally. The app is also quite nice. Like it shows all your vitals and history and stuff. I'm too anxious to take advantage of the 24/7 chat thing, but that's an awesome feature for times when you just need to know what to do. It's hard to believe that the one star review guy below is being honest, because at my baseline after 6 years of not being at the doctor, they didn't spring a bunch of random issues on me to extort money. In fact, the one plan we made was for me to work on my sleep patterns and exercise, which requires no money. Seriously felt like the first time I wasn't being pushed towards spending more. There's also the fact that their monthly plan generally means no extra costs, which means they have no incentive to push anything on you cause it won't get them any extra money. On that note, the one downside is the price. It's $150 a month. If you have high income, I think it's a no brainer. If you have to go to the doctor frequently, like if you have many medical concerns or are a senior or whatever, then it's also pretty good and could end up saving you money. Another possible use would be if you can pick a much cheaper insurance plan that just costs covers hospital visits and other externals, and then let this be your complete primary care, you might save money there too. For anyone else, it's probably not worth it honestly, no matter how cool and comfortable it is. read more

I signed up for Forward back in early December. I understand that their Chicago office was just opening around this time so I gave them the benefit of the doubt when they told me the first available appointment wasn't until February. Well I'm glad I waited, because this was easily the most interactive, engaging, insightful and delightful physician experience I've ever had. When you walk in you're greeted immediately (I was a few minutes late because parking is awful in the area) and they begin with a temperature check as well as weight & height. You put your hand in this machine which does a readout on a bunch of your vitals, right from the moment you arrive you can tell that this is going to be a different experience than any other doc you may have been to. I didn't have to wait at all, I was immediately set up in the appointment room right after my vitals. The office is obviously brand new so it's really beautiful, clean, and futuristic. The appointment rooms are large and comfortable with a MASSIVE screen that the doc utilizes through the whole appointment as they walk through all the information from your tests. I had a quick blood draw and within 15 minutes the doc was in the room with me discussing the results of the draw. The level of detail they go through is impressive, and the doc was extremely kind and willing to answer any questions I might have. They also offer free genetic testing through 23andme, which you can complete and then get the details from the DNA testing added to your chart, which I think is a really cool bonus. The entire experience then moves from the doctor's office to your pocket via the Forward app. I had some bumps along the way with this app right after I signed up (there was issues with getting my insurance card images to attach) but it seems like they've since fixed that issue. The app acts as home base for all of your personal health info and anything you may have discussed with the doctors, including reminders of supplements or dietary changes that may benefit you. You also can reach out to your care team at any time on the app. I tested this out and the care team was quick and responsive, so far so good! Overall I have nothing but good things to say about my first experience at Forward, hopefully future visits are just as fun and insightful! read more

Overall, my experience with FORWARD was pleasant; both doctors I saw were helpful. However, they still need to work out a few kinks, starting with the app (the only way to interact) with the team. The UI looks nice and clean, but that's it. Also, it's not user-friendly to review more than one result, and primary navigation or features and functionality needs improvement; over time, this will be a problem. Let's hope that gets resolved. In terms of personalization, it feels like a Reddit situation, where you post and someone replies. This method of interaction is acceptable for general questions. Still, if you have a specific question about a recent visit or result, it didn't seem like the hyped personalization was there. When the doctor responds, it's like everyone can read the dialogue vs. being private 1:1. It just felt odd, but maybe it's to be expected with this type of model? Regarding ordering tests when you need them, that is amazing, except how often do you need to order tests? The costs and concept work for someone who doesn't have full medical coverage. If you do, you may find this a bit overkill. I signed up for the idea of extended time with the doctor but found that only happened during the initial visit. Each time I ordered a test, I just received the results in the app, with the standard generic response, no additional discussion, etc. So, pretty much your standard operating procedure with the primary care physician. In my opinion, the monthly cost of 149 isn't justified unless you need monthly testing that may cause problems with your standard insurance or regular consultations/visits. Other than that, not much to get really excited for. The bells and whistles advertised most likely are the future, but at the end of the day, solid 1:1 time with the doctor is the most important thing for me, and unfortunately, they fell short on that. read more

First-time baseline visit here last week was a success. This is a brand spanking new facility - so bright and shiny, in fact, that I first thought it was a condo sales center. The physician, Dr. Hershfeld, is engaging and took time to really listen to me and answer my questions. I did not have a PCP for several years before this visit and am glad that I opted to check out Forward, as it is truly a one-stop-shop. I had to fast for 12 hours prior to the blood draw, but it was without a doubt one of the easiest, most painless blood draws I have experienced in my life. I appreciate that the location is close to home (there is nothing worse than going to a far-flung doctor appointment) and I literally have all the resources of a care team at my fingertips through the Forward app on my phone. For the monthly membership, I feel it is worth it for the breadth of coverage that I am getting. I look forward to updating this review as I continue to explore the array of service offerings and progress to my health and wellness goals. read more

I signed up at goforward.com well before the facility opened as the services appeared to be innovative. I was told I would not be changed until the facility opened. It opened, but I was not informed other than the charge that hit my credit card statement. Furthermore this is a MONTHLY charge plan and I could not get an appointment until the 3rd month of its existence, so I pay for 3 months of service without getting ANY access. It appears to be a RIPOFF even though I do not know what they can offer me. Their cost model is broken if they charge their clients when they have cannot even provide any service and have no appointments to accommodate me. I have contacted my credit card company to terminate any charges and will continue to use my primary care physician until they get their act together (or if they ever do). read more

I went for my baseline appointment a few weeks ago, that's what they call your first appointment. It was easily one of the best health care experiences I've ever had. Staff is so friendly and really makes you feel at ease. My doctor was so friendly and knowledge and helped me come up with a health plan to meet my health goals. When have you ever done that with a PCP before? The facility is so well designed. Every part of the patient experience was thought out. I truly feel like I am in the best hands possible with Forward. I would highly recommend this to anyone who's serious about their health and wants a team on their side. read more

It took me telling my doctor that by having 0 appointments available to schedule, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or never being options that I think this is a $149/mo scam. I have had their services since May 2021. I was not told that I could not make an in-person visit when I signed up, which they certainly claimed I could. I finally got in my first appointment in March 2023 after 1 yr of paying $149/mo. How is this not a scam? I just spent hours right now with the app chat person who can not read, doesn't pay attention and refuses to answer any questions that the person doesn't want to answer. Like why can't I see ANY appointment times for the Chicago location at all. NONE, notta, 0. So my doctor apparently finally listened when I told her, in chat, that she took an oath and is required to tell the truth if they are actually seeing patients in Chicago. So of course a 4:30pm appointment in down town Chicago on a Friday is the only time they have. I am going and I will give a piece of my mind to this outfit. read more

I canceled my subscription after the six month trial run. I definitely needed more of a holistic approach than they could offer. You can text them anytime of day or night that you like, but they probably won't answer until the next day. The communication is filtered by their customer service staff, who mainly preferred to keep me from booking any more appointments. The doctors are just like any other conventional doctor, that prefer to offer meds or farm it out to a specialist, instead of offering solutions. Best clinic experience ever! Clean and comfortable environment with advanced technology. I get all my vitals and blood test results within 20 minutes, and it was super impressive to see how Dr. Darshan analyzed all my info that flew in during our conversations to help me understand my body holistically. I am in general pretty healthy in my late 20s. He went back to my family history and pointed out a few things I need to note and helped me make plans around these issues. I never really check my body regularly as going to a normal clinic was just painful. At Forward, every detail is well thought out and I feel I am making good investment in my health. was a patient of Dr for every years, but waw the PAS who age great unlike De wang who is COLD and looks at you as a number. Annyway i was dismissed as a patient for 2 misses appointment not for drugs. I admit missing those app ointments but why. In whe last 3 months i went into kidney failure and was put on transplant dialisys im 46 3 young kids and morkinkig I allso got a yeast infection and have a picc line due to all the antibiotics. I called for an appointment and after two days they called me back and immediately said your dismissed as a patient. When i asked why she said because i violated my agreement.
