I think I found the best internist, EVER. Setting up an appointment was a breeze - the…read morereceptionist, Angie, is a sweetheart, and she was able to squeeze me in when luckily there was a cancellation. The office is located off of St. Clair in the Northwestern Memorial building (and there is validated parking available); the office is very cute, clean, and modern, and I waited less than 10 minutes after my scheduled time (which is pretty much unheard of; the receptionist also apologized which I thought was ridiculous!). I filled out basic medical history and such on their patient portal beforehand, which I thought was quite convenient and makes things more efficient. I was really excited with all the raving reviews on not only on Yelp, but on other health websites that rated Dr. O'Mara. When the doc walked in, she was extremely nice, very knowledgeable, straightforward, a great listener, gentle, professional, and very informative. She listened to all of my health issues as well as my thoughts and opinions, and basically gave me a plan of action. She took her time with me, asking questions, and the whole time, I was not felt rushed! The best thing is that she was very genuine and I was extremely comfortable, being a new patient with all these high expectations! There is a lab on-site, and the phlebotomist, Lauren P., was so sweet and kind, and drawing blood was not at all uncomfortable (considering I have a very low threshold of pain and am such a pansy!). Dr. O'Mara and everyone on staff seems to be extremely detail-oriented and organized (which I absolutely love). The high ratings on the doc do not do her justice - she really is AWESOME. I have a follow-up next week am actually looking forward to a doctor's appointment - isn't that crazy?! I am looking forward in being Dr. O'Mara's patient for years to come! +ask for Angie, the receptionist :D +Dr. O'Mara = AWESOME +limited parking (park at garage)

I wish I could give Dr. O'Mara higher praise than 5 stars. I have recommended friends and…read morecoworkers alike, and now I recommend her to you. Dr. O'Mara's office is a clean, modern one-physician practice. She exhibits all of the professionalism and knowledge I have come to expect and appreciate from Northwestern practitioners and affiliates. I was randomly assigned to her through Northwestern's physician referral practice after I suffered a serious medical event and I was shocked by how great my experiences with her have been. My initial consultation was in her office, where she interviewed me about all of my health concerns, family history, and really took the time to get to know both me as a person and my health issues. Despite a relatively complicated health history, Dr. O'Mara has gone above and beyond. She takes the time to research issues about my medicine and listens to my questions, no matter how silly they may seem to me, in a non judgmental environment. She has followed up on problems or before procedures through phone calls about things I, at times, hadn't even thought about. She is always eager to explain these things to me. She truly cares about her patient's well being and happiness -- even following up on what I thought about places she had sent me for a referral. In short, I have never received this level of care with any doctor before. Her assistant, Angie, is also very nice and helpful. To top it off, it's extremely easy to make appointments here, and Dr. O'Mara keeps an electronic portal where you can ask her questions, view your test results quickly, and access other features from your visits. If you need a new internal medicine doctor, visit Dr. O'Mara.

What else I like is they always ask if you need parking validation and make sure all your questions is answered. I have been coming here for over a decade. No tests run, didn't listen to most of what I said. A month later I returned because the headaches hadn't gone away. She didn't even examine me and gave me another migraine medicine. Last week I went to another doctor. She ordered a cat scan first thing. Turns out that I have a severe sinus infection... never mind that this was one of the things I suggested to Dr. Kissinger on my original visit, which she promptly dismissed. Gee, I wonder if it was as severe THREE months ago when Dr. Kissinger should have caught it to begin with!? If you want a quality, thorough doctor, try Dr. Anne Suh (also reviewed on yelp). She's at a different practice in the loop and is VERY thorough and willing to listen and get to the bottom of the problem.

She offered 3 solutions which were 1. do nothing, 2. insert a donut to hold everything up, or 3. hysterectomy. Only a Pap Smear was done and Mammography and DexaScan prescribed. She did not run the complete battery of testing that was done in the past - no blood test and no urinalysis. If you want a complete exam when you are 65 go to someone else. And she did not wash her hands when she entered the room. I wonder why my blood pressure was high?

They registered us, they have the insurance card, they see it all! After understanding the situation I was trying to make an OB appointment for my pregnant wife and again, they attempted to schedule her with two different out-of-network doctors. I work in health insurance and know it is overly complicated, but they do not even try to verify or take responsibility for matching us with in-network doctors. After calling ten different numbers for the medical group for making an OB appointment there were none available for months out. We had to leave and go else where. I liked my doctor there but the medical group does not do its job and if my insurance does not make an exception then we will be stuck with thousands of dollars of bills because of their negligence (and my misunderstanding). I do not recommend.

The lobby feels like an art gallery. It's relaxing, soothing, colorful, and felt luxurious and extravagant. I'm used to curt interactions with providers that last 15 to 20 minutes. Here they get to know the whole person. No white coats and rushed medical staff. It's a calm and welcoming environment. Before I made the switch to the Raby Institute , I'd schedule the tests I was told to have done and then never had anyone tell me what they mean. Dr. Raby first spent a good chunk of time getting to know me, then she explained results, then she recommended solutions, then she gave me a thorough physical exam followed by an EKG. I knew I was deficit in iron and VitaminD and have been having difficulty sleeping but I didn't know what I should be taking and in what quantity. She explained EVERYTHING and it was fun to meet with the apothecary afterwards to get the right high-quality supplements. It's a great way to go into 2026. When she saw what I was deficient in, she explained what I might be experiencing and she nailed it! I'm hooked. I found my place for the best comprehensive care I've ever received in 58 years!
