These guys are legit. Today, amid a long stretch of sub-freezing temperatures, I had Carmen out to help with a burst pipe in a basement wall. He arrived only hours after I called, and he came with two other employees. He was able to quickly identify the likely area of the break to a line that supplies the hose bib on the outside of the house. He then found a shut-off valve for that line (I'm not washing cars or watering flowers in January!) in a non-obvious spot. That allowed me to turn the water back on to the rest of the house, and it allowed him to get to other emergencies today. He'll come back to repair the break when things let up. During this visit, Carmen also spent some of his valuable time discussing options for addressing low water pressure, and for replacing an aged water heater. No charge for today's visit. In the past, they've also installed a garbage disposal for me, and rodded out a bad clog near the grease trap. I'm grateful to have Forte Plumbing to call on when needed. read more

I was recommended Forte Plumbing by a neighbor. I decided to call them because they were familiar with the building. I had to get my "wax seal" thing replaced for my toilet. Two hardworking plumbers were sent to my location and they did a excellent job replacing the wax seal. The price was below what I googled so I was pretty pleased to save a few bucks. I had to reach out to Forte because they were on a list of authorized servicers for my hot water heater warranty. Other plumbers refused the job outright because of the brand, and my original installer even suggested (repeatedly) that the warranty would not be valid. The first "authorized" place I called answered with voicemail and never did call me back. Forte Plumbing actually had a real live person to answer the phone, a very nice lady who took my information and arranged for someone to contact me as soon as they were available. Even though it was apparent he could not fit the job in on a busy Friday, Robert Forte made several calls on my behalf to determine how I could get a replacement for my hot water heater. He spoke with the supply company and was able to give me specific instructions on how I could get the unit on my own in the meantime. Mr. Forte wasn't actually able to do the work, and he realized this from the start. He could have just said, "Sorry, call me Monday." But what he DID do was enable me to have another plumber handle the job because I was able to satisfy the warranty issue. I WILL contact Forte Plumbing when I next have a need. Called to get a sewer cleaned out. They cancelled the first appointment and rescheduled for after the 4th of July which I was all good with. Then, on July 5th I received zero calls from them so I called in inquiring where they were. Talked to the owner and he tried to tell me next week and claimed it was a preventative measure that could keep being put off. Today, we had a hot water issue - leaking all over the basement and they told me they were too busy to help me. When I said, "I guess I will have to go elsewhere", the owner just hung up. I hired forte plumbing to install a new kitchen sink and faucet and to repair the leaky pipe under it. Robert forte came with a woman who was to do the work. she started work on the sink and pipes 3 hours later she was finished. in the bathroom she installed the pipes and faucet , then realized the faucet didn't fit. she left , came back with another faucet and installed that one. six hours later Robert forte came back with another plumber and said the kitchen sink was not right. they removed the kitchen sink and reinstalled it. I paid them. four days later I am still removing caulk that is oozing from the kitchen sink I went to put back the toiletries under my vanity and the door fell off. I called the office and the woman said that the door was probably broken before. I asked if someone could come and fix the door. no one called me back. I needed to satisfy the village code of Elmwood Park because I sold my house. I already had a "membership" with Larry's Plumbing, so I called for their approximate rates. When I was told the cost would be around $800 (with the member 20% discount, mind you) at the minimum, I immediately started asking around. Our handyman told us to call Forte Plumbing. They're local, have a great relationship with the surrounding villages, and they couldn't be nicer people to deal with. Best of all, they told me they could do the work for $250! When they came to do the work, it took them 4 hours. STILL only charged me $250, even though it was certainly more work than expected. I would have happily paid more.
