His office will communicate via email which is wonderful, and sometime it will be Dr. Hao who follows up himself if he's checking on a particularly difficult tooth or recent surgery. His office has gone above and beyond to help me out when I have been in an emergency situation, I know they've stayed late or missed lunch hours for patients before. This practice stands head and shoulders, in every regard, above every dental practice I know of. Not only are they medically/technically knowledgeable and professional, the positive environment and "can-do" attitude of everyone from the administrators right through to Dr Sohbi takes away any apprehension of discomfort and especially money-grubbing feeling I get at most other dental practices. I have recommended this office to half dozen or more friends and all of them really happy. Especially two of them who were both really afraid of dentists. Kingwest Dental does not care for nervous patients with care. They refuse to re-do my nightguard (one of the reasons I switch dentists was to get the 3D tech for the nightguard production) as it does not fit. They don't care, they already got their money. My teeth hurt. My coverage is only for one nightguard (obviously) and they wont help. The last cleaning I had the woman gouged me and also put the blood and plaque on my shirt and in my hair and was pretty mean and rude to me. I felt afraid halfway through and my neck was hurting so I asked for a rest. She typed on the computer with the same gloves she was using to go into my mouth. It made me feel sick. Finally, I'll say that I specifically noted that I need female clinicians (i'm a survivor of violence, which I shared in confidence) and they didn't respect that .I guess they found it amusing to see me panicked as the male dentist came to check in on me on my second visit. I gave them one more chance after that and that is when I got butchered and covered in gunk. Super nasty. Very disappointing.

Prior to receiving care at this office, I had never experienced the level of concern, confusion, and frustration that I have experienced since becoming a patient here. That change has made me question the way services are being recommended, communicated, and billed. My primary concern is the lack of transparency surrounding fees. There have been instances where additional services were provided without the associated out-of-pocket costs being clearly explained to me beforehand. I was subsequently billed for those services. I believe patients and parents should be given clear information about what is covered, what is not covered, and what they will personally be responsible for before agreeing to additional services. I was also surprised to discover an outstanding balance from a service dating back to the previous year, despite having attended multiple appointments afterward without being informed that a balance remained. I only became aware of it after I began asking increasingly direct questions about the office's billing practices. At this point, I am no longer comfortable dismissing these concerns as isolated misunderstandings. There is a pattern that I believe warrants closer examination. I will be submitting a formal complaint to the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) and requesting that the appropriate regulatory authority review the circumstances, including the disclosure of fees, informed consent, billing practices, and the communication of outstanding balances. I encourage other patients and parents to carefully review their treatment plans, ask whether every recommended service is covered, and obtain clarification about any potential out-of-pocket costs before treatment is provided.
