What a beautiful park! From the trees, architecture, and fountains, it's truly something to see. Parking is plentiful to access the park at all points, and there's tons of great photo opportunities. The fountain was so cool to see, and we even saw a couple get engaged. It was super sweet. Visiting here was definitely a highlight of our trip.
After wrapping up a long day in an HR conference, several colleagues and I decided to explore Savannah. The afternoon was cool and breezy which made it ideal for walking and strolling around the town. The park is absolutely beautiful, open green spaces, shaded areas, and plenty of spots where you can just sit, relax, and have a picnic. After enjoying the scenery, we stopped by one of the nearby coffee shops before continuing our day walking around town. Definitely worth visiting.
Fabulous 30-acre park in the heart of Savannah. Dating back to 1840s, with amazing Live Oaks which are green all year round, lots of green spaces and several prominent monuments. Most famously a fountain located on the north end of the park is one of the most renowned fountains in this part of the country. As it was recently renovated it looks as it did when it was new. Civil war memorial built few years after the Civil War it shows a confederate soldier and two prominent confederate officers natives of Savannah! Spanish American war memorial located on the south side of the park is dedicated to Savannah residents who fought in this conflict! Overall a beautiful park and not just for sight seeing but also for exercise, strolling or taking your pet for a walk....
I was beyond excited to see the fountain in Forsyth Park, as it seems to be the crown jewel of Savannah, so you can imagine the chagrin flowing through my bloodstream when I walked below the beautiful sea moss hanging from the trees to see no fountain. Just a couple of cement blocks and visible pipes where a fountain should be. My first thought was Nicolas Cage would likely write a BANGIN movie script off of this. "I'm going to steal the Forsyth Park Fountain..." Turns out the fountain has been removed for renovations, but that's exactly what a local government would say if it was stolen. Really makes you wonder... We walked through the remaining acres of the park, and it is breathtaking. It's a true anchor for the community: Patrons having picnics on the well kept grass, owners playing fetch with their dogs, and a decent pick up basketball game was going on. After inspecting the beautifully crafted monument in the middle of the park, I was a bit shocked when it was a memorial to confederate soldiers from the Civil War. I stood there saying to myself "I don't know if we should have a monument for those cats..." but then I remembered that quote "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Idk, I got mixed feelings about it. Amazing park though. Would have been 5 stars if that fountain was there. IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo
Another great find in downtown Savannah with lots of walking paths, water fountains, statues, street vendors, and greenery. Love this historic area!
Forsyth Park is one of my favorite spots to go with Jordan whenever we just want a quick escape. Whether it's for a simple walk, to relax, or just to be surrounded by nature, this place always delivers. There's always something going on too, farmers markets, artsy fairs, and even small concerts and events from time to time. It never feels boring, but it's also peaceful when you want it to be. Honestly, the whole park feels like a movie scene. It's just so pretty, from the open green spaces to the iconic fountain. Every time we go, it reminds me why I love it so much.
It's the symbol of Savannah!! The fountain is spectacular. A nice place for a picnic. The Confederate Statue honors the soldiers lost.
Very much enjoyed staying right off the park last week. The park...stunning trees, lots of squirrels at play, and lovely homes surrounding. I made the loop multiple times a day, although after dark I decided not to go it alone, as there are some dark spots and a bit of questionable activity. Still yet, definitely one of the most beautiful parks I've been to. Bonus a fun farmers market covering most of the inside length on Saturday.
OMG Forsyth Park is easily one of the most beautiful places in Savannah. The moment you walk in you're surrounded by giant oak trees draped with Spanish moss, wide open green spaces, and a calm atmosphere that feels like stepping into a postcard. I'm serious! Unfortunately i stopped by early in the morning and the iconic Forsyth Fountain was off but it is the perfect spot for photos and a must-see landmark. the park offers open areas for sports, and plenty of shaded paths for a relaxing stroll. It was a great break on our road trip for our dogs before a long drive back home. A MUST SEE!
Astonishing. The very first time you visit is just overwhelming in the best way. Forsyth Park is located near the SCAD art school that's famous in the city of Savannah. It's just an absolute must visit and seems to be where the main attractions are nearby. I could come and hang here for hours on end with an iced coffee and a book. Endless greenery surrounding you while being graced with the most fantastic live oak trees your eyes can handle. I'm still mind blown at how the beauty of this large park.
Very nice stroll in the park. Not to busy at the end of April. Some strange stranglers along the walk.
Pretty park. Lots of activity from vendors. No musicians on the day I went, which surprised me. The fountain is the star, of course. Glistening and gorgeous in the sun. At first glance, it reminds this New York loving girl of Washington Square Park, but maybe a little less rambunctious or lively. A little more geared toward the south and coastal artists/hustlers. But the park occupies 30 acres and offers a garden for the blind, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer areas, and even places for rugby and frisbee. There are also concerts and a club/restaurant on site. There are benches, but on hot days, you'll often find the shaded ones are already taken. This is a real community spot and a place to rest and enjoy one of the well known Savannah sip and go cocktails. It's close to SCAD and other tourist attractions in the city, so you can make a day of it.
Never a dull moment at this park. Concerts and dog shows and other events happen here throughout the year...farmer's market on Saturday mornings...beautiful well maintained open lawns where you will see couples and families claim small patches all to themselves and escape into their own private picnics, frisbee tossing, kite flying, and even fencing matches in full gear...everywhere you look there is something going on. There are basketball courts and tennis courts....tree lined walkways for relaxing strolls...benches all throughout. A cafe in the center. Bridal parties taking pictures, tourist walking around in awe...and on the outside walkway you have the joggers and walkers gettin' their exercise on. A peaceful yet fun place to be. read more

Forsyth park was so beautiful! What I loved about it is all of the history and how all of the town would come out either for a farmers market down the side walk, or a game of pick up volleyball, or just to lay down on a blanket and read a book. The whole atmosphere was pleasant! I also loved doing a styled wedding shoot here!! So stunning! read more

Do you ever visit a place and feel like you were meant to be there? Feel like you'd rather never leave? Yeah. That's me and Savannah. There is no words that can truly describe how beautiful this city is, and how I would seriously contemplate moving here in a couple of years. Forsyth Park is just one of the things that add to the infinite beauty and charm of this gorgeous city. If I lived here, I would come down here let's say every Sunday, just to enjoy this uniquely beautiful park and take a romantic stroll through it with my honey. Several paths lead up to the center and focal point of the park; a large, ornately beautiful fountain which has got to be the most photographed place in Savannah. These paths consist of cobblestones and are covered with these specific, 'Savannah weeping willow trees'. I don't know what they are called, but they are awesome. My husband says they're eerie, but I find them romantic. I can see people hanging out underneath these trees or on the grassy fields in the park. Families taking a stroll and taking pictures of their wee ones by the fountain. Older couples whom have spent their life's together, resting on one of the benches enjoying each others company. I want to be like these old people. Preferably right here in this park, on that same bench. When the time comes, of course. read more
There's never a dull day when you live near Forsyth Park. Every Saturday, there are charity runs and the fabulous Forsyth Farmer's Market. Local business owners and farmers have tables with honey, flower, fruits and even cooked meals. Fresh is so in, so show off your cooking chops with veggies straight from the garden. Forsyth is a cool place to picnic, play, and even take a nap. Just make sure you pick a spot far away from the dog area! The best time I've had at the park were just chilling, enjoying the views around me. Hey, it's Saturday. Let me get off my phone and enjoy a stroll in the park. Hope to see you there too. read more

OMG. Where do I even begin?! This park is absolutely beautiful! We had to make our way here during a recent trip to get a photo at the famous Forsyth fountain. It's a sprawling piece of property. There are benches all around the fountain and throughout the park to spend time outside with a loved one and people watch. We visited on a Saturday so there was lots to see and do. We walked a bit further and noticed a kids event going on near the amphitheater/stage area. And if you kept going, the farmers market was going on and it was packed! As this was going on there was a soccer game with spectators at the big fields to the right and a pickup basketball game at the courts. As you can see, lots to see and do! It's also very dog friendly but please keep pets on a leash! Oh and please pick up after your pups too. Would come back again. If I lived here, I'd take my dogs on a regular basis. That's how nice this area was! read more
My last stop on the Savannah trip was here at this beautiful, peaceful park located in the heart of historic Savannah. It's kind of hidden since it's covered by the numerous trees and moss hanging from the trees which I thought was really cool. The park features walking paths, children's playground area, big open fields for outdoor activities, and of course the fountain. If I lived in this area I would do my daily jog out here every time! If you're visiting Savannah I highly recommend checking out Forsyth Park. read more
What a beautiful park! Stopped by here on a sunny Sunday afternoon to enjoy my final moments in Savannah. Who am I kidding? I needed to walk off the fried chicken I ate earlier for lunch! This is the perfect park to spend time with your loved ones. Whether your companion is another adult, child, or furry frolicker; there's always something interesting for everyone. I must admit, my bf and I had too much fun playing with the park chimes once we saw them! With wide paved paths, perfectly green grassy areas, and varying points of interest; it was really hard to leave once we finished our walk. Definitely make a stop here if you are either a fan of trees, fountains, dogs, or really wide walkways. Enjoy! read more

A nice park in central historic Savannah. Lots of activity and a great spot for pictures, especially of the fountain. read more
How I love wide open spaces. This park is truly gorgeous. It's perfect for people watching, playing tennis, checking out the local farmer's market (Saturday mornings) and laying on the grass. It had to be one of the first good weather spring weekends and everyone was out to play. Definitely bring your tennis racket for a good game on the courts on the South side of the park. There's plenty of water fountains to re-hydrate and a cafe to get some snacks. I love the trees with the Spanish moss, supplying plenty of shade to hide from the hot sun. There's ample open space on the grass for a volleyball game or just to sunbathe. Lots of people, lots of dogs, lots of kids, lots of fun... read more

After passing this park on one of the many Savannah Trolley Tours, I knew I had to return. HMMM WHAT TO DO WHAT TO DO To this out-of-towner it felt like half the actual Savannah residents were gathered there at one of the volleyball tournaments, or playing Ultimate Frisbee, or just relaxing. Yes there's enough open space for all that! And for the kids there's also a decent playground--rather small--but at least there's restrooms inside the nearby café. I also enjoyed the two little gardens there--especially the scented one. Unique. SCATTERED ART Or if you just want to chill (like me) this park still retains its "Savannah-ness" with its historic statue and spire towering from the center... or even the Parisian Fountain close by. I also ran into a large art work that looked like a large instrument consisting of chimes. Even with all the open fields there were also enough shady trees in certain areas to just sit down, enjoy the shade, and watch people go by. read more
Beautiful park in Savannah! Farmers market on the weekend. There is a playground, basketball court, and plenty of grass to play sports, have a picnic or play with your dog. It felt very safe and there are a ton of families hanging out. Many runners around the parameter. Fountain on one side and an amphitheater on another. read more

CLASSIC SOUTHERN PARK WITH A GORGEOUS FOUNTAIN After a great day of strolling through the squares of Savannah, we ended up in this gorgeous park. The park is filled with oak trees dripping with Spanish moss and an elegant two-tiered cast-iron fountain is the focal point. We sat on a bench near the fountain and enjoyed the sound of the water and the shade provided by the trees. A great place to relax in the beautiful city of Savannah. read more
Savannah. One of the most magical, charming little cities that I have visited. Forsyth Park is absolutely gorgeous and a must see while in Savannah. I felt so blessed to be here on a warm (yes, surprising), January day. Live Oak trees draped with Spanish Moss, rows of benches, lush lawns, pink Azaleas, numerous walking paths and the gorgeous fountain. Total perfection. read more
Forsyth park is a wonderful green space in Savannah. When I first visited fifteen years ago it was just a green field with winding trails in and straight walkways on the edges. I especially love the housing lined next to this park. Old world antebellum style is a quintessential style of the south. Sometimes I just want to walk in and out of the streets admiring the unique architecture. But now they've added some great components. For one, there's now two playground areas for children with the soft rubberized flooring to soften any blows. My daughter had a field day here, expending her energy climbing the various ins and outs of it. Right next to this, they have installed a very nice outdoor amphitheater with a lower "mosh pit" level just in front and is wheelchair accessible. They've updated the restrooms and have some tourist brochures to peruse. A wonderful space I would come back to again and again. read more

This place is magical. It was our first stop as we got to Savannah over the weekend and we spent about 3 hours just taking it all in. First off, the park is just beautiful - as is most of downtown Savannah - but there is so much going on here. There are all kinds of sports, dogs, plenty of people watching and even a cafe nearby if you need a snack. This is a must for anyone and everyone visiting Savannah. Bring a blanket and a book or good magazine and just enjoy it! read more
What's not to love? Nothin'! Beautiful, huge park. Great for walking or running, relaxing or playing. The fountain area was of course full of tourists, but there were plenty of locals around the rest of the park. The parking lots were full, but on the weekday afternoon I was there, I was able to park for free on a side street. Some of the park benches are very comfortable; others are awkward, tilting forward and uncomfortable. Next time I hope to have a nice blanket to relax on under the trees. read more

This was beautiful and clean park! The pathways are lovely and under great large trees. The landscaping is pristine and done with flowers all around the park. There is a foundation and nearby seating and benches throughout the park for your enjoyment. There is a great, open lawn with green well-kept grass so you can sit in or play in with family or dogs. This park is dog friendly! There is also an area with a historic statue, and two different playground areas for the kiddos! It was a great park and if we return to savannah we will certainly stroll through again. read more

The park is seriously beautiful with the history oaks/Spanish moss and the fountain. Just go and enjoy the benches and take in nature! There is usually a trumpet player that only adds to the great scene. Plenty of benches in both shade & sun to sit & relax. read more

This is a really nice park to walk around and get the true Savannah feel. There are beautiful fountains and statues throughout, plus lots of open green space and a play ground. The trees are gorgeous. The downside for me was that every time we stopped and sat down to enjoy the day, someone was trying to sell us trinkets or palm leaves shaped into flowers. read more

A beautiful, well-maintained plot of greenery in downtown Savannah. Not a huge fan of the smokers in the park, but what can you do? There are dogs and dog walkers galore, but all of them seem to be well-behaved. There are shops and little stands around the walking strips of the park for your shopping pleasure, and we had the good fortune to have a talented saxophone player serenading the park when we came. A couple of playground sets are at one end of the park (recommended ages 5-12) and the beauty of the park will entertain all ages. It has a nice amount of walking distance, a pretty place to take a stroll and get your steps in. There are fun little wind chimes to hit at the playground end of the park, and in the open grass there are groups playing badminton and other games. A nice, refreshing, free place to visit in Savannah! read more
Only in town for a couple days so obviously couldn't all we wanted to but this park was on our list of things to check out. Quaint lovely park .. loved the fountain and old mossy trees and magnolias. We didn't stay long and it was in walking distance from the Holiday Inn where we were staying. I think this free park was worth the visit read more
