Fishing is allowed in this park

The park is well maintained by full time park personnel. It is clean and has mesmerizing views and abundant wildlife. There is a back section of this park that is newer built and has additional parking and kids playground. However, sometimes the main road to this back area is closed to the public, perhaps someone forgets to unlock it.

I truly enjoyed my walk at this park. Got a good four miles in, thanks to the fresh air and beautiful scenery. This park has plenty of parking, great walking path, beautiful lake, and other park amenities.

    Fishing dock.

This beautiful park features a lake, a fishing dock, a playground, a disc golf course, a dog park, a large gazebo, restrooms, tennis courts, and a walking path. This is a wonderful outdoor space to relax or exercise, and it feels removed from the bustle of Savannah, Garden City and Pooler.

This is a nice little park with a paved sidewalk around the lake. It's about 1 mile around. They have decent restrooms and a fitness trail along the paved sidewalk. Beware of the alligator. They are in the lake.

Discover the non-commercial side of Pooler! This park has a great walking loop around the lake. On one side, you look into wooded marsh area. This park makes you forget you are in the South with a 50/50 mix of deciduous and pine trees. There is a plaque commemorating the history of Sherman's march in the area. You will find multiple pavilions. With the largest standing out as modern and well maintained. On the grounds are disc golf, tennis courts, and exercise stations. There is a children's playground, but parents should be aware it is not enclosed and within fifty feet of the lake, parking, and train tracks. It is a little odd as the entrance and the length of the park consists of a rail line (yes it is operational). The only reason it is not a five rating as they are going through construction and there are some tarps along the lakeshore. Otherwise a pleasant park to get away.

Little gem of a park representing Southern hospitality at its finest: Clean bathrooms, lots of open green spaces, activities (tennis, disc golf, hiking, fishing, picnicking, playground, wildlife viewing). I checked out the nearby Jerry Jay Cox mountain bike trail & really wished I had a mountain bike with me. The paved walk around the park was very a great leg stretcher after being in traffic (this park is off of 80 & 95).

We stopped at this park on our way to Tennessee from Florida to break up the drive and let our toddler run around. We were there right at dusk and we felt totally comfortable. There were people playing tennis on lit courts, people walking their dogs and with families around the lake and there were even bathrooms that were relatively clean (better than a gas station or rest stop). There was a covered area with picnic tables and other places to sit along the walking path. Overall we were so impressed with this park and will definitely make it regular stop whenever we are heading north.

I really love this park. It's close to downtown Savannah (about 10 miles, located in Pooler) and has so much for the whole family. I discovered this park while trying to find a good place to mountain bike in the Savannah area. Although it's not a great mountain bike trail, I discovered it's great for a lot of other activities. The mountain bike trail is about a three star trail. If there is even a little rain it's very swampy. The lake at the park has a paved 1.3 mile loop around it. It would be great for children or beginner bikers. There is a nice play structure for kids too. There are two tennis courts. There is a workout routine posted on boards all along the paved loop. They have two sets of bathrooms at the park. One set is by the kids play area and tennis courts in a large building. The others are off the parking area. There is ample parking. They also have a great disc golf/frisbee golf course that is very well maintained. It's a wonderful sport for all ages. It's free and all you need is your discs. Amazon has some inexpensive started discs.

Nice little park in the Savannah area. I like that i can allow my kids to play without having to worry about dogs getting loose because they dont allow dogs in the park unless ADA.

It is well with my soul!

Good place to go for a walk and we got to feed some turtles. They also have a dog park and playground with tennis courts. It was nice.

Ask the Community - Tom Triplett Community Park

Is there a charge to just visit the park? I thought I saw something about you have to pay to park?

I believe if you want to hold an event in the pavilion you need to pay a small fee. But the rest of the park (tennis courts, picnic tables, frisbee golf, etc.) is totally free to use.

Where is the children's playground area? When I went with my daughter all we saw was the lake and sidewalk and pavillion.

The play area is directly across from the tennis court!

There's also a dog park, I didn't bring my dog there but he stayed by me and my boyfriend as he played disc golf.

Coming prepared is important. Besides a bathing suit, it would be wise to have a long-sleeve shirt…read moreand hat (or a huge tub of sunscreen), some sort of water shoes, and some way of protecting your devices. I got a watertight bag for my phone. They say they'll store your keys, but they didn't remind me and in my haste to hit the water I somehow floated the entire distance with my super expensive electronic car key in my pocket, which neither fell out nor was any the worse for wear, miraculously. You have to pay to get into the state park where this endeavor begins, which in total brings the cost to around $40 a head or so. Which for me was not bad given the experience. I received help getting the tube down to the water and they had some watercraft at the end to gently bump me to shore. They say floating down the river takes two hours; it doesn't seem that long a distance but it is a slow-moving river and my trip took around two and a half hours in the water. Obviously, you can slow yourself down or speed yourself up. The shores of the river were verdant, with frequent houses and docks and a lot of signs saying to stay off of various people's private property (fair enough), but I still managed to find a bit of beach for a brief respite, and the trip ends at a sandbar. Various powered watercraft whizzed by, but they mostly just caused some pleasant waves. Conditions will vary, but I found the water immensely pleasant on a summer day, and on the water I didn't have a huge mosquito problem (I did apply repellent). The depth was such that during much of the trip I was actually floating and could not touch the bottom, but there were certainly places where you could. The inquiring mind wonders whether alligators, snakes, bull sharks, or some other river monster is hiding beneath the murky water, but I observed no such creatures (as a one-time Australian, there's no way I'd get into an Australian river where I couldn't see what was around me). The bottom was mostly sandy, but did occasionally have branches and things, and water shoes do help. I underestimated how much time my legs would spend out of the water and did not apply sunscreen to them; I wish I'd either done that or just carried sunscreen in some container. The end area had brightly colored trip employees to shepherd you in using watercraft, as well as a volleyball net and picnic area for those so inclined. A bus brings you in short order back to where you started. A trip through the surrounding countryside suggests a pastoral, relatively natural environment, and driving through it I always wished there were more tourist opportunities to experience this unique landscape and dodge the heat. Turns out, this is the place.
