For a large county, the library administration practices seem to be very non reader friendly…read more Books can only be checked out for 2 weeks. Unless you have not much else to do, aka employment, it is very difficult to finish a book in 2 weeks. Also, the library content is mostly "side b" books, not the bestsellers. Popular new books can have waiting list for 80+ people for that ridiculous 2 week reading period. Forsyth county officials should be ashamed of not serving the public very well. Where do the tax dollars go? Staff are friendly and operating hours are decent.

I was there on Friday August 15 to print something for a protest the next day. I told that woman to…read moresee if the computer can print 11 x 17 poster paper. She told me it doesn't work and she and I find solutions to make it resemble to a poster. She showed me the different options that resemble a poster. There was a one option in which you print 8 x 11, in which it is like a normal piece of paper and you print each four individual pieces of papers. That four individual pieces of paper have four corners and when you cut it you can make a poster out of it. So I choose that option, I just want to say thank you to the librarian to take the time to show me on how do it. It was good customer service.

A first visit to this library branch in Johns Creek felt like stepping into a little haven. The…read moreentrance was lined with $1 books and a spot to donate your own, which instantly set a warm, community‑minded tone. Inside, the space is bright and peaceful, with huge windows overlooking the trees, plenty of cozy seating, quiet study nooks, and full access to computers. Stephanie, a librarian of 21 years, was a joy to talk to. She mentioned that visits have dipped since the pandemic, perhaps due to the rise of e‑books, but she wishes more people knew about the incredible resources that often go unused. Beyond books, there are digital tools, in‑person classes, access to new computers, and even free passes to Georgia state parks and the Chattahoochee Nature Center. That's a novel perk if there ever was one. It's a true community gem--welcoming, accessible, and a reminder that libraries offer something the digital world can't: connection. Stopping by your local branch might just be the best chapter you add to your week.

Use online library website to reserve materials. 2. You will get an email when the materials are ready for pickup. 3. Library then has two phone call system. Librarian will bring the materials outside and put them on white table with zero contact. 6. You pick up your materials and head home. Sort of convoluted, but good procedure to protect patrons and librarians. Please see my previous review for more information on the library.

There was a professional photographer taking pictures that could be downloaded for free after the event and you were also allowed to take your own photos. As I was by myself, the photographer was gracious enough to take pictures with my phone for me. The line was about 1/2 hour wait, but it was so worth it. Then I was off to see what complimentary crafts were being offered. Wow, so many choices: popsicle Christmas trees to decorate, small jingle bell bracelets to make, large jingle bell necklaces to make, several different foam crafts to assemble (reindeer, snowman photoframe, birdhouse thermometer, reindeer glasses and more!). While looking at the kids making the crafts I noticed someone with an adorable balloon reindeer and went to find out where they had gotten it. There were two balloon artists that worked their fingers to the bone making the cutest balloons! Many different designs including: reindeer, snowman, Christmas tree, Christmas wreath, Santa hat, turtle, unicorn, giant candy cane, swords, and many more. They were amazing - and the line showed it. I was in line about 45 minutes for my reindeer, but I consider it time well spent! Then I was off to find the marshmallow roasting area. They had several fire pits set up and folks putting marshmallows on sticks for everyone. Truth be told, I went back more than once additional marshmallows. :) The event started at 4:00pm with the tree lighting at 6:15pm. Beautiful big tree on Main Street covered in white lights. I could not even count the number of folks taking pictures in front of - and inside of - the lit tree. I think everyone had a spectacular time. The event was scheduled to end after the tree was lit, but I was not the only one to continue to stay and take part in the merriment well after that. The face painting booth as well as pictures with Santa still had long lines when I called it quits at 6:45pm. I can hardly wait to attend this event again next year!!!
