The service is always exceptional here, the prices are reasonable, my only complaint is they only seem to sell popular books. You have to go to a used book store or Amazon to get rare books. They make up for it by having a great selection of journals. I do wish they'd get more options for pens, loose leaf paper, and inks. read more

This is my go to book store as their store is always kept clean and is easy to find your way around in. It seems it has changed throughout the years with there not being enough seating areas to relax. The bathrooms are also not the cleanest and are always either out of toilet paper in each stall or out of soap. The employees are very friendly however, and are down to help you find whatever you need. It was my dad's birthday one day and I asked for help finding a book that he would be interested in and one of the employees gave me a nice selection of mystery and science fiction novels to choose from. The one thing I will say is that I wish the books were more affordable. Some of these books are $20 at most and you end up spending $100 for like 3 books. The adult section is never on sale and they upsell books that are more popular than others. read more

I was at the Collection to pick up some food for dinner and had some time to walk around. I had to go to the bathroom and the closest place was Barnes & Noble. Let me preface by saying that I have been to many Barnes & Noble in my life and usually they are very clean and well maintained. Well, not this one. The actual bookstore was fine, but the bathroom was truly disgusting. Like, I do not even know the last time I have seen a bathroom so atrocious. There were 3 stalls. The first stall was out of order. The 2 remaining stalls were both out of toilet paper. The big stall (handicap) looked like somebody had explosive diarrhea and it had not been cleaned up. There was toilet paper and paper towels all over the floor. When a girl walked out of the stall, she told me "good luck, there is no toilet paper. The other stall is a mess and you will need to use a paper towel to wipe with." I really hated even walking in and much less going to the bathroom, but it was an emergency. I finished up, touching the least amount of surfaces as possible. When I exited, there were some more people waiting to come in. I told them there was no toilet paper, to which one of the women said "oh I work here, let me go grab some from the storage room." My point in all this is, somebody (or multiple people) were clearly not doing their job. There is NO REASON a bathroom should get to that state if you are regularly checking up like you should. And yes, there was a bathroom cleaning checklist on the back of the door but obviously no one had been in there for a long time. read more

Hey I love this place so much. I find all my danmeis and manhwas here. Staff if very helpful and they have a LOT of books. I also come here to buy kpop albums and other music things. They give good discounts and deals if you have the websites. I like to sit and look at different books for hours. I've probably spent hundreds of dollars here :D 100% recommend!! read more

Love Barnes and Noble, bookstores, etc. The category: Bookstore , definitely gets 5 stars. The, "could've been better 2 stars" is for the staff. There were children sitting on the children's stage in the childrens' section checking out some books, and "grumpy" staff member told them to go to the cafe if they want to hang out. The ironic part is, these kids were quiet and actually looking at books, not disruptive or of that sort. In my opinion, it's work personalities like that , that give book ppl a bad image. We always buy books when we go, but when you encounter unpleasant staff, it can be off putting. Starbucks at the back of the bookstore. Cashier section is huge. Toys/kids books available. I meant to finish this review a long time ago. I had been frequenting Barnes & Noble's a lot. I have to admit I was using it as my go-to study site with my study buddy to get prepped for retaking Boards. Not a fun task but an imperative one. This Barnes and Nobles stays busy. Whoever thought bookstores were going extinct is wrong. Plenty of seating, but most of it hard chairs. The few softer sofa chairs have been sat in one too many times, because you literally sink in the chair because it's lacking any spring and support anymore. There is a lack of outlets too for devices with low batteries. That's a drawback. I'd say make sure you have your devices fully charged before arriving. They have a nice Starbucks on the premises so if you need a snack or a latte it's convenient so you don't have to leave. Definitely a perk for the coffee drinker. I wish I had the time to read a book. I like this place for relaxing. It made a great study locale as well but unfortunately going in now reminds me of Boards! Please update your seating and get more outlets! read more

I'm used to receiving good customer service at Starbucks. This includes the Starbucks in Target and Kroger stores. I've been to this Barnes & Noble store before. I like that you can get select cheesecake Factory desserts and other yummy pastries that you can't get at a regular Starbucks store. My family stopped in to get some pastries and hot beverages before a Christmas concert event. They were busy but not swamped. Our cashier barely greeted us, annoying but moving on. We ordered and stepped to the side where you wait for your drink orders. All three of our drinks had the same name written on them. When I received my drink, my cup was VERY hot to touch. Yes, even with the sleeve it burned my hand if I held it more than a few seconds. I asked for another cup to put my cup in and that helped. The same thing happened with my husband and our sons cocoa. It was so hot that when he went grabbed it he almost dropped it. I worked at Starbucks years ago and I know that temperature is for people that ask for extra hot beverages. The kids drinks should be slightly cooler than the adults. One of their managers walked up and said hello. we asked him could we have additional cups to put our regular cups in. I also ask for some ice to go on my sons drink. The barista that made our drinks looked at me rudely and ask was there something wrong with our drinks. I shared with her that the temperature was quite hot. She decided to tell me that is the temperature of all of their beverages. I was not going to argue with her. once my son tasted his beverage, we realized that it was the wrong beverage, a coffee beverage. When I opened it to look at it, it looked like an Americano. When I told her that we had the incorrect beverage, she asked, what was the name on our beverage and I told her. She then goes to say I'm making your beverage now. I'm not sure why you have that one my response was we have this one because you told us this is our beverage and called the name on the cup. Once we got our sons drink, it was still too hot. We asked for some ice cubes and another cup as before and left. to say they were not in the holiday mood or very cheerful. I will not return. Sigh. read more

This store has changed quite a bit over the last few years...for the worse. It's now late 2018 and the store continues to have Obama books in high traffic areas like they were when he was president. Upon entering the children's area, there are a group of books right in the entrance titled "Baby Feminists," "Oprah," and "Michelle Obama." The next section I walked by had a grouping of books each with the F word on the cover...at children's' height. Not sure if the manager is a left winger or not, but the books in this store are clearly showing where they stand. Time to use Amazon for all My books. read more

I spent most of the day in this store. Of course, that was not my choice, but there are certainly worse places to be stranded. I was meeting someone for an interview at 1:30 in the cafe. I arrived at 12:45 with the intention of browsing/reading to kill time until they showed up. I quickly realized that I had locked my phone in my car along with the keys. The Barnes and Noble staff were more than willing to let me use their phone to call for help. I had no concept of time, but I would estimate that I stayed on the phone for a total of three hours. They did not demonstrate any sort of impatience to me for tying up the phone line. I did not want to spend money, but bookstores are temptation centers for me. I was able to narrow my choices down to one book, and when I bought that book, the cashier was very friendly. Although I personally did not have a great experience in this store, I actually cannot wait to return! Clean, well-run store with friendly staff. read more

Nice to have a Barnes & Noble on the north side of things. It's not as big as the Buford or Alpharetta location, but it's every bit as good. Plenty of seating if you're the have no pride, waste a day at the bookstore type. I've seen people sleeping on 3 different occasions. Anyway, movies are always overpriced, which is nothing new. Staff is extremely helpful in finding and ordering books. I keep thinking this is a great place to pick up intelligent chicks, but they are as interested in finding a new gem as I am. Can't argue with that. I find myself going even if I don't plan to buy a book. Just being in this atmosphere is enjoyable. read more

I like the location; it's easy to drive down from Dahlonega and browse. The staff always seems engaged and helpful.

My girlfriend and I were followed in this store. We spent an hour here shopping around before leaving around 9:45pm. I didnt notice the guy until we were checking out and he mumbled to us. While we were checking out he waited by the door and walked out after us. We went different directions and I turned to look back and he was watching up. We rounded a corner to my car and just before that I looked again and he started walking our way. He hurried up and got in my car and locked the doors when he rounded the corner and started scanning the parking lot. He walked towards my car and we got outta there. But it was very scary and creepy. Apparently he had been walking around us the entire time we were in the store. Luckily both of us are hyper aware of our surroundings. Be careful. Scary stuff is happening everywhere. read more

Barnes and Noble is as always clean and nice. The store generally does not have a very loud atmosphere and has nice chairs for readers to sit and enjoy. If you have a Nook or Nook color it will automatically connect to Barnes and Nobles wireless network (Pending you have WI-FI enabled on either version of the Nook). You can look for Ebooks that you might like and sit there read it for 1 hour a day before deciding to make a purchase. I think though what I like best about Barnes and Noble is the variety of books that are available. Almost every time I visit the book I want is available, whereas in a few cases there are some books I have had to order; but these were generally older books. The customer service is generally always pleasant and helpful when locating the book you want. The toy section is nice for the kids. What I like most about this particular Barnes and Noble is the Starbucks. There's nothing like having your coffee cake and Cappuccino. If you get the chance check out this Barnes and Noble. You will not regret the experience if you love reading books and you love using your Nook color like I do. read more

Very RUDE staff. I am NEVER going back. I saw an employee barge past several customers in line at the cafe, saying "I work here. I don't have a lot of time." An hour later, this same employee went up to a middle-aged man sitting in a chair looking at a book and bluntly told him "Buy something or get out!" I also saw several clean-cut young people arbitrarily ejected from the cafe. They were perfectly well-mannered and not bothering anyone. They had purchased refreshments, but were not allowed to sit at a table and enjoy them. I have worked in retail for several years and I have never seen customers treated with such contempt. I have spent thousands of dollars at this store over the last 3 years, but they have lost me as a customer. read more
