I visited several stone/tile businesses looking for quartzite for a kitchen renovation project. At the first two stores, I was just pointed in the direction of the slabs. At Formation Stone Surfaces, Heath showed me around and took an interest in my "before photos," and made some great suggestions. He was very helpful in locating the stone and delivering it to my fabricator on a timely basis. He arranged for me to view my actual slabs prior to transporting them to the fabricator. Heath also helped me choose a kitchen sink color during the process. When the project was completed, it came together well and I am so happy I listened to Heath. BUYER BEWARE!! I purchased Taj Mahal from this company a few months ago. I went everywhere trying to find the number of slabs I needed and color. They were for sure much higher priced. Because they had the color and the number of slabs, the girl assured me that the reason the pricing was so high is because they had "A" quality slabs and hand picked. Had Fabricator install and it looks like there is scratches or etching everywhere. Not just a few. It's embarrassing when people come over. It's everywhere. The Fabricator told me that this is sometimes found in Taj Mahal and should have been disclosed. Again paid double the price for " A quality." We are not new at quartzite and remodels. This is what we do for a living and we never heard this or seen this before. This is a second home and they will send someone out when I'm back in the desert this winter. I sent pictures and didn't have the best response. In hopes they do right thing. Stay tuned for updates. I've checked with five other well-known quartzite suppliers and they have never heard of this. How can I have overlooked this vendor in my many years perusing the Valley's tile stores? Happily, the omission was rectified just when we needed inspiration for our major kitchen remodel. Tucked off Cook Street, Formation Stone serves up a luscious array of tile I haven't seen elsewhere in addition to a huge warehouse replete with stone slabs. Although the wares look pricey, manager Rod Jackson worked with us to secure affordable choices for counters and walls. My fervent desire for a terrazzo-style counter was fulfilled when he pulled out a slab of gorgeous Vetrazzo recycled glass. Paired with Caeserstone quartz and some stunning blue-glass tiles, my kitchen design came together quickly and seamlessly. We added live-edge wood shelves from Angel City Lumber which repurposes downed LA trees. The organic addition to the contemporary cabinets and glossy surfaces punctuated the cool aesthetic. Although the room remodel was a nine-month slog of shipping delays and vendor errors, the final results were worth the long endeavor. read more

The owner of this business clearly loves what he does And IT SHOWS‼‼‼ I was on a limited budget and looking for a family member who is redoing his entire place from the studs out. The Owner took the time to Stop what he was doing in his office and walk out into the Stone yard with me. He proceeded to show me different slabs of granite, quartz & marble that were all within my price range. There was a good selection of different materials to choose from including many tiles as well. I would recommend Formation Stone to people who want a more personalized service from start to finish.
