Like some of the other reviews, we have been shopping here since it was Food 4 Less. Still our favorite store. Reasonable prices and great selections in the Produce , Deli and Bakery. I can almost always find what I'm looking for. Never long lines for very long. The Crew is so Awesome. We have our favorites checkers, but anyone you go to is always so friendly and your always greeted with a smile. Other stores in the area have taken a back seat and now are the "only if I have to stores." Thank you Forklift for making shopping so much easier. read more

ALWAYS 5 STARS !! Forklift is part of Nugvet Markets. I heard that when they moved in they added ~11,000 items to the store! They take requests & they'll try to get what you're requesting. 99% of the staff are happy 99% of the time. The produce kicks butt...and they have a pretty large organic section with reasonable prices. They're open late & the place is nearly empty after 8pm. They try to get local products too- like Tahoe Blue Vodka. Did I mention that they're WAY CHEAPER than Safeway or Raley's. Go check it out... and try not to forget your SHOPPING BAGS !! read more

Forklift nails it on all levels! They have a diverse selection of foods from generic to organic including their produce. And, their organic food prices are quite reasonable. It's worth it to come here vs Whole Foods or Nugget. The staff and staff culture here is absolutely contagious! We've always felt like we're part of the "family" there. I frequently shop at Fork Lift and am also a vendor for the Nugget Markets. I love this place because it's close to home, they employ friends of mine, the quality is outstanding and the prices are even better. But today wasn't about the food or the convenience, today was about the customer service. Now I've never experienced anything but great service but today was exceptionally special. Today I went in looking for something other than just a cart full of groceries. Today I need some supplements that a doctor had recommended me for my depression, anxiety and mood swings. I asked the lady at the front desk (I apologize, I wish I knew her name so she can get credit) if she could look up some items for me that I couldn't find on the shelf. She said she couldn't find the items in the computer but she would be more then happy to show me. She immediately knew what I was looking for. The gal then opened up suddenly telling me she and her husband use some of these products. She then opened up and was not shy about sharing her experiences with the supplements and how they affected her and what her experience was. It was comforting to know someone else knew what i was going through. She told me everything she knew about it and that was extremely helpful and I am very thankful for that. I never expected that kind of customer service and never would I thought a store employee (possibly manager) would open up to a customer like that. Absolutely amazing and genuine. Truly, a one stop shop. Fork Lift is flat out fabulous from their excellent meat dept, to their deli, to their wide range of dairy products. I just love everything about this store! We come a little ways down the hill just to shop here because it's the best grocery store in El Dorado County! The produce area is awesome, the bakery has the best baked goods, the workers are always very nice and the store itself is always so clean. Grabbed a couple Piedmontese steaks for dinner from Fork Lift. They were amazing! And believe me, we owned a Ranch for 20 years and raised our own Angus Steer, so I'd say we're beef snobs for sure. I seldom find a nice cut anywhere except a ranch beef supplier. But the Filet Mignon and 2 inch NY I BBQ'd tonight were two of the Best, most tender steaks I've ever cooked! If you want an awesome cut of beef don't hesitate, grab some Angus steaks from Fork Lift! You won't be disappointed!!! read more

I was already a fan of this place when it was a food4less because it was very clean, well stocked, and had excellent customer service. (It was already owned by Nugget) The upgrades to the forklift brand make the store even more pleasant. I still get good prices on basics plus they have a good quality bakery and full service meat counter. They have always bagged my groceries and continue to do so. I have to drive down from Pollock Pines which I hate doing. All we have in PP is Safeway which is the worst grocery chain ever. i would love it if Forklift would replace Safeway in Pollock Pines. Some people seem put off by the name Forklift. Really? That's your complaint? Please. I got the reference as soon as I heard the name. Fork Lift, Food. You put it on your fork and lift it to your big whiney mouth. Forklift, as in, warehouse. Yay! I'm a fan. I've been shopping Nugget in EDH since they opened but know from experience that certain mainstream items can be found in other locations for less. The key to Nugget has been ambiance (like in whole foods) combined with unique variety (like in Corti Brothers). The problem has been, in order to "pay" for that experience, one has to pay full MSRP for the everyday stuff. Enter Fork Lift: Much cheaper than Nugget for the everyday stuff yet they carry the unique items that Nugget carries every day! As others have noted... Fork Lift is really a hybrid between a Nugget/Bel Air and a Food4less/Winco. You can find canned beans for 68 cents and speciality loafs of bread for $5-6. What I really appreciate is the daily discount on fresh produce. A grapefruit at Nugget or Raley's is normally 99 cents, at Fork Lift the same fruit are 58-68 cents each depending on the day. I could go on... Just make sure that you inspect your produce. I get the sense that some of it is near its shelf life. I am sure there are multiple variables to consider. Overall, I am a big fan and plan to continue shopping here. read more

I already did a lot of my shopping here while it was Food4Less, so it was fun to see it transform into Fork Lift. It's basically a mini Nugget now, with prices that range somewhere between Bel Air (which is also located off Cameron Park Drive) and Nugget in EDH. I live in Cameron Park, so I love not having to drive into EDH for fancy stuff like Straus dairy and unique produce and cheeses. They have a nice lunch bar, too, for salads and work breaks and whatnot. Some prices have gone up, and the produce is generally not great (which I'm used to because Food4Less wasn't great either) but they have lots of great organic selections (and Ettore's cakes!!) and craft beers. They also typically have the much less expensive version of the high end stuff, which is the same quality as you get from any other grocery store. If they don't have something that I really need (like most produce), I can always find it at Safeway across the street. I really like the staff, too! They're incredibly polite and helpful and even go out of their ways to OFFER me help! Just today, a very nice employee OFFERED to run back and grab a fresher bottle of half and half for me just because he had seen me looking at the date of the one in my basket. That's good customer service. Kudos to that guy. All in all, a great, conveniently located store with great staff, but I wish the produce (particularly the fruit) was a bit better. This will remain my first stop for groceries. read more

Didn't do much shopping at the Food for Less mainly because I felt the products were cheap, unhealthy (processed, junk foods) and I hated packing my groceries-felt rushed as I had made others wIt for me to do so. When it switched to Fork Lift, I went in to see (not necessarily buy) what they had to offer. To my pleasant surprise I saw ORGANICS! And a lot of non-GMO products that interest me most. Since that day about 8 months ago, Fork Lift has mirrored a lot of its backer-Nugget, and has integrated a salad bar (getting better with options), a cheese bar, more ORGANICS and their non-dairy section (Almond milks etc) is exceptional. Best of all, we get the lower prices as this gem of a grocery store prices like Food for Less did, 7-10% less than Nugget and Bel Air!! I can say for a fact I SAVE $$ when shopping here! I still continue to shop at its competitor (Trader Joes) as I still have items I love there, but these are my go-to's. Never Safeway, or Bel Air anymore, YAY!!! read more

This store is nothing like the other Food 4 Less I've been to in the past. If there was ever a negative stereotype for the store, think opposite of that. Low prices, extremely clean and organized. Nothing is out of place! At least none I noticed. Everything was clearly marked. Insane! Even the shopping carts were in neat rows! I could have mistaken being in Raley's or Bel-Air, but the prices for items were significantly less. We mostly shop at Raley's and have always thought we spend more than we get. Staples shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Iced tea, cereal. Frozen foods. I've never been this excited about spending $120 for groceries and yelping about it! So here I am. We refilled our pantry and still had money for other stuff. Yay! I will only go to this specific location due to experience. Yay! read more

Shopped here for the first time last week and will never shop here ever again. 1. The produce is nasty, either moldy, way to ripe to even eat or is way too over priced 2. The store in general is incredibly over priced they wanted $3 for a bell pepper and $20 for a pack of 4 chicken breast! 3. The store is completely confusing and hard to find anything in If they keep up with low quality + high prices they will quickly be out of business. This was a bad move for the nugget and food for less. read more

Sure, you can shop at Safeway across the way, but I did compare prices and quality of the salad and food that is made daily. Safeway: leaves there food out for 3 days and they don't cover it like Fork Lift does Safeway: does Not remove old food from there daily made food, they just keep putting the fresh food on top of the old food. So at the end of the day, you may get chicken etc.. that have been sitting there all day. Forklift is fresh, they cover their salad at the end of the night so, it's not sitting out collecting dust. Their food is better quality and some of their prices are better then Safeway. Sure Safeway may have better deals but, I have seen better prices for the same products with Forklift. To pay a little more for better quality is worth it! read more

I used to come to Fork Lift off and on but it wasn't my first choice. Now, completely different! Because of their precautions during COVID19 and making sure folks wear masks, I'm a constant shopper and have more appreciation for the kind and friendly staff too. I have purchased two packages of ground beef that had darker meat inside. It was pink and fresh looking all around it. I just cooked the first one because it smelled fine. The second package I returned and I got an unkind response from the young man at the customer service counter. Hmm, should it have a sour odor? My grandfather and husband are Master Butchers. They both said that they tried to, "put lipstick on a pig"". I love pigs, just not sour pigs. read more

Today was the first time I had been in the store since it was Food 4 Less (before that it was Sam's Town, Yes I'm dating myself.) Anyway, I went to the meat section to look for turkey cutlets and couldn't find any. Two very nice young men from the Butcher Shop offered to make me some turkey cutlets from a turkey breast. After coming back twice with samples to check how I wanted the cutlets, I finally chose. The cutlets turned out to be generous in size and extremely affordable. Very nice store, very nice service I will be shopping there often. read more

If you are fan of Nugget, you will love Fork Lift. The pre-made food is great. The service is not as great as Nugget. I love their sandwiches but frequently find the wait times too long. Their meat department can also be slow to help you. I find things like soft drinks to be over priced. Most of their prices are fair. read more

We have been shopping at Fork Lift since its opening. We were so excited to see it since we drive down from Apple Hill and now we don't have to go all the way to EDH to Nugget Market. This place has it all! Bulk foods (including herbs and spices); a great produce dept with lots of organic choices; the best cheese counter; a great bakery with fresh baked bread, bagels and pretzels as well as lots of deserts (including Ettores!); a lovely deli section with a wall of packaged Fork Lift made salads and entrees (and even pizza dough) for convenience and a salad bar that includes pasta and grain salads; a fully staffed meat/seafood counter with organic and grass fed choices; a huge dairy case with lots of non-dairy choices; a wonderful selection of cold drinks (including beer - some of them local); general dry goods featuring both every day brands and specialty items (like those you find at Nugget Market); frozen foods (common, organic, vegetarian, vegan); vitamins and herbals; beauty products; a nice wine selection and liquor. Whew!! I hope I haven't forgotten anything (though with all they have to offer I probably have.) Now to the intangibles: First and foremost Forklift employs the most helpful, kind and happy people I've ever had the pleasure to do business with. I've never had one pass me by but that they have asked me if they can help; when I do need help they are very gracious and personable. The individuals who staff the cheese counter are especially nice - they have all been exceptionally knowledgeable as well. We often bag our own groceries just to help out but baggers are always available. (Remember your reusable shopping bags; Fork Lift encouraged their use long before the law.) Second, the store is always impeccably clean as well as organized with a logical floor plan. It's easy to locate what you need, signs in the aisles help too. Prices are good - certainly comparable to Railys and less than Nugget Market. There are a lot of whole food, organic, non-GMO, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan offerings and these options are clearly marked in most cases. Shopping here supports local business. Check out is nice and fast, if the lines start to back up additional registers are promptly opened. I hope you give Fork Lift a try - I think you will be very happy you did!! read more

I really love this place. It's a little far for me and I definitely can't do all my shopping here because it's a tad pricey (though cheaper than Whole Foods) but I just love coming here whenever I have the time, even if it's just to stroll and look around. There's definitely a warehouse feel to it, like Costco, but it's homey-er, sort of like Wincos. I like the layout and the way the produce is laid out. ALL THE EMPLOYEES IVE MET have been super friendly and helpful and all around awesome. I love their princess cakes, I buy my bones for broth here, the array of organic stuff for my skin is great, the drink selection is huge. Minus a star for some stuff being over priced and that they don't take my Chase credit card. I want my points, damnit. read more
