We were greeted by Dave Keung, who asked how he could help us. We were killing some time while waiting to meet a friend for lunch. We had been talking for several years on taking the diamond from her moms ring and adding it to her ring and perhaps adding a third diamond to balance out the setting.
While Dave is not a Certified Gemologist, the first thing he did was offer to clean her diamond so he could get a better look at it. Using a cleaning pen, it brought back a shine that we hadn't noticed in a while even with infrequent cleanings. Then he gave us the pen because of their COVID policy.
He looked through a loupe and found some comparably sized diamond and showed us some rings from his display case to give us an idea on where kind of expense we might be looking at.
Dave was very friendly and engaging and answered our questions without hesitation even though it might mean we might take our business to a jewelry designer.
