Each and every time I visit Thayer's gym, I feel the 'hurt so bad, but oh so good' for at least 3 days! What I appreciate about Thayer is the fact that he takes his time to explain all workouts prior to the rounds and he walks around assisting people and ensuring that we're doing the workouts correctly in order to prevent injury. He's there with us every step of the way. The workouts are well-timed and at a great pace. It's a family environment there. Trust me, you will get a full body workout each and every visit and you will feel great inside and out when you arrive and when you leave.

It's been very transformative in my fitness journey and couldn't be more happy to have found this community. The workouts are released on a nightly basis and there's several different class times to choose from. In the 8 months that I've been here, I have seen several upgrades as well, which is nice. For anyone looking to join a CrossFit gym, SOCF would be my recommendation!

The amenities are the star of the show. Massage chairs, leg compression therapy, two terrains, an outdoor area, a cryo lounge, and even a full movie theater with cardio equipment. Plus, there's a pool and sauna! I'm probably missing a few things, but you get the idea. Theres a ton here that other gyms simply don't have (including kid care and supplements). I don't mind crowded gyms or asking to work in when I need a machine, but if you're not into that, I'd recommend coming really early on weekdays or any time on weekends (it's surprisingly empty then). I'm on a 4-person family plan- about $90 total- and we each get our own membership with guest access. The staff is friendly and easygoing with guests, though a heads-up: tripods aren't allowed if you're into recording your workouts. Overall, I always enjoy my workouts here, especially around 6:30 AM or sometimes 2 PM depending on my schedule. And honestly, don't be afraid to make friends! Most people are super nice if you just ask how many sets they have left or if you can work in on a busy leg day.

I originally came in just looking to get information about a membership, and Zack was incredibly helpful from the start. He took the time to walk me through all the membership options, explained what was included with each package, and made the whole process super easy and stress-free. Great customer service really makes a difference, and he definitely made me feel welcomed. One of my favorite things about this gym is the salt/sauna room like such a nice bonus after a workout. I also love that they offer Pilates classes because it gives me more variety in my routine and keeps workouts fun. The gym is clean, has a great atmosphere, and the equipment always seems well maintained. I've honestly been coming almost every single day since joining, which says a lot. Definitely excited to keep coming here!

It is with deep disappointment that I submit this review about Crunch Fitness - Dr. Phillips. For a…read morelong time, Crunch has been a place where I felt comfortable, focused, and welcomed -- a "home away from home." Unfortunately, my recent experience left me feeling humiliated, threatened, and unsafe. One day, I was following my normal workout routine and minding my own business while using the ab machine. During my workout, I was approached by a young female employee at the gym. Without greeting me or introducing herself professionally, she stated, verbatim: "I know you like me, so give me 3 of your friends' phone numbers." She then handed me a referral card and said she would return shortly. I was caught off guard by both the tone and nature of the interaction. Nonetheless, I continued my workout and began filling out some information on the card she provided. When she returned, she demanded my personal information. I responded by asking for her information as well, since she had approached me for marketing and referral purposes while I was exercising. The employee then returned to the front desk area and began speaking with another employee named Wiss. Shortly afterward, Wiss approached me and insisted that I hand over the referral card containing my personal information. I declined, as I did not feel comfortable providing personal information after the interaction that had just occurred. I attempted to continue my workout peacefully and avoid further confrontation. After this, Wiss began speaking negatively about me to another gym member who was using the machine next to mine. Once she walked away, I asked the gentleman cwhether ushe had been speaking about me. He advised me not to let it upset me and to ignore the situation. I then moved to another machine to continue my workout in peace. Despite this, Wiss approached me again and stated that the other employee had "given her side of the story" and asked for mine. I explained that there was no conflict from my perspective: I had simply declined to provide personal information and continued my workout. The situation escalated further when Wiss returned to the front desk and spoke with the original employee and a man identified to me as Marcos, who claimed to be a district manager. When I attempted to calmly explain what had happened, Marcos refused to listen and instead threatened to remove me from the gym. He also claimed there had been "multiple complaints" made about me, which was both shocking and completely inconsistent with my experience as a member. At no prior time had any employee ever raised any complaint or concern to me. At this point, feeling uncomfortable and concerned for my own protection, I began recording the interaction on my phone. During this exchange, Marcos aggressively approached me in a manner I perceived as physically threatening. Rather than escalate the situation, I chose to disengage, leave the gym, and continue recording for my own safety. As I exited the facility, the original employee began recording me on her personal phone while yelling obscenities, including "F*** you," making obscene gestures, and falsely accusing me of attempting to speak to minors. These statements were completely false and deeply damaging. I also observed Marcos continuing to approach me from behind while threatening to revoke my membership and behaving in a physically intimidating manner. I left the gym without retaliating, raising my voice, or engaging in any physical confrontation. However, I left feeling shaken, humiliated, and genuinely concerned by the behavior displayed by multiple Crunch Fitness employees and management representatives. No member should be subjected to harassment, intimidation, false accusations, or threatening behavior while simply trying to exercise peacefully.

Cons: as founding members we thought we would be taken care of during price hikes. Dead wrong. We never got to see things promised like a protein shake shop, founding members wall, etc. Another con was the lap pool. Not heated and always too many kids to do anything. Upstairs half the time had too many classes, so you didn't really get to use the equipment anyway. Spa/rox extra, nothing good included in the price that you're paying which is just over a two hundred a month now for 2 people. We really didn't want to leave but it is clear that groups, groups of younger guys in crocs/socs, kids at the lap pool It seems they want to lure new meat in instead of taking care of the members that signed up prior to their opening. Not a single callback or communication from them since canceling.
