Brent is honest and fair and the price was reasonable for the excellent quality of materials and workmanship we got. His price as quoted on the estimate was what we paid, no surprises. He may not be the cheapest, but that is reflected in the superior shingles he uses and their professional installation. He is licensed and insured also. You get what you pay for. His crew replaced all of the pipe vent boots and repaired our chimney flashing as well. They stand by their work and guarantee it for 10 years. They showed up early, in professional commercial vehicles, and with a dumpster. He and his crew did an amazing job! He has done four other jobs for our family members with the same fantastic work and quality, and they were equally impressed. Highly recommended! ! ! ! Warning about roofers who file false hail damage claims: Please do NOT fall prey to fly-by-night "storm damage expert" roofers who knock on your door a few days after a storm and try to tell you that your roof has "hail damage." They may tell you to file a claim with your homeowners insurance company and that the roof will only cost you a deductible. They stand to make thousands of dollars while your insurance company is paying for a fake claim, and as a result your homeowners insurance will increase because you had to file an unnecessary claim. Please do your homework and call around to several reputable roofers and get an unbiased estimate/opinion before deciding on a contractor. Please do not take the word of someone knocking on your door trying to sell you something. Some of this is insurance fraud. This makes good, honest roofers look bad.

It's been a very frustrating, disheartening process; it is November 2018 and we still can't get anyone willing to do roofing work. So, we made the decision to pack up our Ford pickup w/tools and supplies along with our 26' RV trailer in tow, and 2 dogs, we drove from San Diego, CA to Jacksonville, NC in 5 days to meet up with our claims adjustor. We looked like the Beverly Hillbillies. After several days of cleanup and hearing discouraging reports that supplies and contractors were in short supply, our ray of light and hope emerged when we met Carey, the owner of Under One Roof Construction. I had seen him drive up to inspect the roof across the street from us. My husband & I made it a point to talk with him to see if he could help us out. We immediately took a liking to Carey. Knowledgeable. Easy going. Established family business. Carey, gave us a reasonable roof estimate; we gave him the job. Carey brought out his roofing crew, some who had been with him over 10 years; you could tell how they instinctively worked together. They installed a new beautiful roof. He and his crew were very professional. They picked up all their construction mess and used a magnetized roller to pick up any roofing nails in their work area. We were quite impressed w/their roof competency, products, and warranty that we asked Carey if he had a construction crew who could help us with the damaged interior work. Carey, again, came through; he worked us in to his VERY tight schedule. So, we contracted w/him for the interior damage caused by Florence, including interior sheetrock tear down, installing new insulation, rehung new sheetrock on the ceilings, interior priming and painting, etc. Carey and his crews did all the big stuff. We are forever grateful. 3 months of exhaustive labor took its toll on my husband (70 yrs old) and myself (64 yrs old). The events that led up and followed with Carey coming to our aid was literally an answered prayer; a small miracle. In addition to Carey, we recognized several small miracles during our Florence trip including our drive back home when our truck broke down in Anniston, AL a week before Christmas Eve....but that's another adventure, for another day.

John explained what was involved: synthetic underlayment, ice and water barrier, ridge vent, drip edge, a couple sheets of decking and a day and a half later the whole thing looks good as new - because it is! They cleaned up nice too; no scraps or bit or pieces or wrappers or anything laying around; a little raking, some blowering, and a couple guys did a couple passes with the nail finders and the place looks a little better than when they showed up. Good news/bad news: they do such nice work that I'm probably never going to see these guys again.

The estimate was scheduled promptly and the estimator was friendly but kept pushing drippage rails on us saying it required by NC building codes and we would not get a warranty on the new roof if it was not installed which we found out later was not true. It is RECOMMNEDED but not required by NC building codes. On top of that their estimate was the highest of all the estimates we received and $3,300 higher than the roofing company we went with to install our new roof. That's a lot of money we saved to put into another project on the house. Follow up to owner's comments: If drip rails are required by Nc building code as you claim then why did none of the other estimates we received even mention them?? Much less tell us that we needed them to get the warranty on our new roof? Maybe that why your estimate was so much higher than any of the other estimates we received.

They also installed the ridge cap/vent inproperly on the the front right dormer. and there are more issues that i dont even want to list here. Providence knows exactly what they did - I had a hole in my roof caused by craftmanship defect. They refused to to fix it. Then the rain came, and water poured straight through that hole. I had to call another roofer for emergency mitigation, and I explained what happened. That roofer contacted Providence, and only then did Providence come back out to "fix" the problem they caused. Guess what? They fixed the problems that were visible, but they did NOT fix the actual roof hole or the underlying workmanship defects. They only stopped the water temporarily, without addressing the real issue. The structural vulerability remained, the decking was still comromised, and the original installtion errors were still sitting under their path job. Run!!!
