As part of the Altoona Hail storm in 2025, my home took some damage to the roof, one side of my…read morehouse, the face of the wall with the garage door, and the garage door itself. I got an initial estimate for work from them for $32K. That seemed steep, but since State Farm was footing all but $4K (my deductible), I moved forward with Rock & Tait. My wife had them fix something on her farm 15 years earlier and he was happy with their service. How times change. Over the course of the repairs the price kept climbing. (I have no real idea why.) But I worked with Rock and Tait and State Farm to get the gap covered. I turned over all the insurance checks to them and thought we had negotiated everything in good faith. The final tally, I believed was $38K. Yesterday they surprised me with an email with a bill attached stating I owed them another $11K. The siding portion of the bill went from $7K on the estimate to suddenly being $15.5K. That was for one side of my home, and the face of my garage (not a big area). The work took 4 hours and yet for some reason the bill went up 125% overnight without an explanation. The amount to the gutter replacement went up 35% without additional explanation. The cost of the garage door went up 25% without explanation. The roof, which was estimated at $15K went up to $22K. That is almost a 50% increase. I don't know why. Now they want $11K more when it sounds to me like I should be getting some money back for work that took 9 months to get complete. I would love to hear from other people in Altoona, WI who went with them for repairs in 2025-2026. It seems like most that I know of have a story like this. Gouging people at a time when they need help is simply disgusting and I hope someone looks into their business practices. BTW - we need a rating system that doesn't force you to give even 1 star to someone who treat people in need this way. Eric Berg 2/18/2026

Our projects New Roof/Blown Insulation/ 2 bathroom remodels /Exterior Doors/KitchenBathroom floor…read moreremoval/New exterior trim windows doors/ miscellaneous electrical and plumbing/ Drywall work From start to finish was a horrible experience. Way overpriced there people are installers zero crafmanship. Everything we had them do was crap work and we had to have one employee removed from the project because he was getting mouthy with my wife. Here are couple issues out of many others we had. Didn't protect hardwood steps during wreckout Causing damage. Installed exterior door probably only 10% of door was adequately insulated only reason I discovered this is they put trim on backwards so I fixed it myself and discovered the deficiencies. New interior trim doors windows wow they couldn't get a tight miter they filled joints with a filler compound. And they back into are shed damaging rain gutter which they replaced but I just recently discovered they reused the roof hangers but on a bunch didn't reuse existing holes in steel leaving old holes exposed to water getting in roof. They where also supposed to replace all our concrete but we pulled that from them based on all the issues we had. This is a short list of many things that they got wrong. HORRIBLE COMPANY

Today we got mail from Eau Claire Insulation llc. It was a letter that included a picture of our…read morehouse done with thermal imaging. At first glance it just seemed a bit off, but it bothered me enough that I did some more looking at it before tossing it. My husband and I both found it weird, because it was telling us how much heat we were losing, but from the picture it looked like not only the house, but our sidewalk, the trees, our driveway- everything really. I get that it's a thermal image, so anything that's warm/hot is going to show up. However- that's why from everything I've seen thermal imaging here is generally best done in winter- really any time that you can get a big temperature difference between the interior and exterior- so seeing my plants on the porch and that everything around our house was just as warm as our house, says the image is worthless. Other than to people who look at it and just see the "energy leaks" they point out, and all it's good for to them is lightening their wallets in the short term to find out if they do in fact have energy leaks. It upsets me mostly because I'm sure this gambit works on some, because used correctly thermal imaging is a good tool for contractors. Your first clue when looking at a thermal image like this is if it looks like someone has blacked out your entire roof, which is a really easy/common place to lose heat, but in the hot summer sun I'm sure was very bright. Sending it in February and trying to pass it off as a cold weather picture it wouldn't work so well though. While I do like supporting local businesses, I'll never go here. You shouldn't have to trick people into using your company.

In addition to our exte windows they were also cleaning the class on our french doors and lighted cabinets, and vacuuming our interior soffit. Mixed result. Everyone was very nice and polite and the basic window cleaning was great. However, the crew was young and didn't seem to have a clear plan on who was doing what which is possibly why things were not done. Attention to detail was lacking. Several sills were not wiped at all including a couple where there were even dead flies left behind. One of the glass cabinets was completely missed. Furniture that was moved to access the glass was not put back. There was even a disagreement between two of the workers with one suggesting the other was just standing around. Kind of felt they didn't care so much about the quality of their work and there was obvious no checks done to make sure everything had been done much less done well. I reached out via email including attaching photos but received no response. Invoice was sent via email 10 days later with no reflection of adjustment for missed work. Would'nt hire them again.

I have made several attempts to contact them by phone and by email with no success! At this point I just what my damaged screens back or pay for replacements as replacements are not cheap! Since they haven't responded to any of my attempts I am not very hopeful this will be resolve. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Customer service! I would not recommend them.
