I had an issue with appointment scheduling (I rescheduled from 130 to 3 and got the times confused. I ended up having to pay a $50 fee for no-showing. At the time, I thought it was a clerical error on their part and I was upset about it). Even though I was the one in the wrong, office manager Jessica reached out to me to 1. Gently tell me I was wrong (which is a skill in and of itself lol) 2. Offer to refund me even though I was the one mistaken. I'm really pleased with the way she handled it (it meaning me being a "karen") and I'm confident that any future issues can easily be cleared up with a phone call. I felt like I owed them a positive review after incorrectly bashing them. Doctors, PAs and nurses were all incredible. Unfortunately the front office staff, while in person we never had an issue, were incredibly rude, impatient and condescending over the phone every single time. In full transparency, I missed a bill mailed to me by certified mail. Before I had an opportunity to even pick it up from the post office, they had dropped one of my three kids from care without notifying me, or ever attempting to notify me by phone - despite their repeated claims of having done so. I save my voicemails as reminders (or I know I will forget important details), and they never once attempted by phone or in person that I had a balance. Super disappointed with the care I received for my son, he is 4 months old and exclusively breastfed. Breastfeeding is by far the hardest and most stressful thing I've done but also the most rewarding. Like most breastfeeding mothers it's a daily struggle. My son was gaining weight but not the way they wanted. They suggested I see a lactation consultant, which THEY referred me to, and the lactation consultant was absolutely wonderful and supportive. She analyzed how he latched which she said he had a great latch and got a good feed in and that he had in fact gained an appropriate amount of weight. He was born at 9lbs 1 ounce, and at his 2 month appointment was 11 lbs 10 ounces. At his weight check 3 weeks later he was 12 lbs 10 ounces. He gained a pound in 3 weeks and it was still not good enough in the drs eyes even though the appropriate amount of weight to gain is between 4 oz to 7 oz a week. Which he always met. They pushed formula so hard and we're even trying to give me samples. I was not wanting to give up on breast feeding as I could see he was thriving and growing perfectly fine. I expressed that when they called and told me they wanted him to have some formula and the nurse said ok that's your choice. A few weeks later I got a letter in the mail from Dr. Gellman dismissing him as a patient. At first I felt like a horrible mother, I got my baby dismissed when he has shots coming up. But then I was reassured by so many people including my husband that Mother's know their babies best and pediatricians should know how to work with new mothers. No one knows or cares about your baby the way you do and a chart shouldn't be the determinant of all as all babies and children are different. They pretend to care about postpartum mothers, having them fill out forms that end up costing you 20 dollars out of pocket to "make sure you don't have postpartum depression" but then dismiss you the second you don't bow down and do exactly what they say which would send any struggling mother into a depressive episode. And don't even have the decency to call and at least try to hash it out before a dismissal. I will be filing a grievance with my insurance company as I believe they must be getting kickbacks from formula companies due to the way they pushed it and hearing from another professional that everything was fine. They also dismissed my twin daughters along with my son, letter dated august 29th, and their appointment to get shots was September 4th. Clearly they do not care about children or their medical needs. Do not take your child here if you have any plans on advocating in any way for them as they clearly want to be followed exactly as they say even when you know it's not right for your child. read more

We were not satisfied with the care from our previous office and their limited appointment availability. We now find ourselves traveling a considerable distance to see our new pediatrician, but it has been worth the hassle. We are now happy patients of Forestream Pediatrics! We have had no issues with scheduling appointments. There has always been availability to be seen the same day. We understand the office staff has to follow policies and we may need to wait for a nurse call back to discuss an illness/symptom prior to scheduling an appointment. I do not find this to be an issue, instead, I appreciate their consideration of other patients and staff. Every office is going to have their own set of policies. It's important that you make yourself aware of them and follow them for the mutual benefit of your relationship. As far as wait times go, I would say it depends on both the provider you are seeing and the season. We have waited up to an hour for an appointment with our PCP during this past sick season. I was not surprised or angry. I came prepared to wait knowing that they are very busy and doing the best they can to be on time while giving patients individualized attention. There are other times where we never sat down in the waiting room and the provider was running on schedule. I am sure they appreciate these occurrences just as much as we as patients/parents do. This pediatrician office is a joke! The office staff is so rude, especially those that answer the phone! It's near impossible to make an appointment, Debbie on the phones shouldn't even have a job there- she is the most unpleasant, condescending & rude employee in the entire office! Forest Stream should be embarrassed having an employee like her, she has been repetitively rude when I've called- seriously -we're considering leaving, no one deserves her attitude! Since all of the other reviews are several years old I wanted to post. I have been taking my 3 kids here since my daughter was born, a total of 8 years, and recommend them to everyone. You can see any provider at any time, including all of the MDs. The PAs and NPs are all lovely as well. I trust their judgement and advice. They are easy to get a hold of with questions or for advice, especially through the portal. They have work friendly hours. For some providers you can usually expect to wait longer (Dr Gellman), but for the others that is never the case. I am very happy here and recommend them all the time. read more

Dr price came highly recommended and she met all the expectations and more! The medical staff here are fantastic and I would recommend them anytime. Medical staff is the pro of this pediatrics. Unfortunately I have not had the best experience with the administrative staff. I've always felt like I'm a burden to them. I have a bit more complicated system of payment maybe that's why. The doctors and nurses here care so much about their patients. They take their time to answer each concern. You never feel rushed. I have taken both my boys here since they were babies, one is now 18 and has joined the Military. My 16 year old still goes to Forestream and likes how friendly his doctor is and how comfortable he feels. I just had a baby girl, so it was an easy choice on where to take her. They have remodeled in past year and it looks really nice. I read the negative reviews, and sure I've waited a few times.. Like any doctors office. I've never felt that I've waited so long to the point of switching doctors. We moved over to this practice to follow Dr. Yunker. She is great. She speaks to my kids and to me with respect and always answers all of my questions. She seems genuinely interested in my kids' growth and development. When I am in an appointment for one kid, she always asks about the other one. I have never had any issues with the non-doctor staff. Everyone is always pleasant and attentive. I never have to wait; my appointments are always on time. The waiting and exam rooms are clean. I have used the after hours on-call several times. The people at the answering service are professional and kind. The on-call doctor always calls back promptly. read more

Asked my sons doctor (Yunker) at Forestream to do an MRI on my son because of birth trauma. She passed the job off to Robert Warner who then said to call the pediatrician back. Well, I don't have time to play games like that so we switched docs. New doctor ordered the test and YES my son DOES have brain damage. This all concluded a year after I had originally asked Dr Yunker to perform the test. That's One Whole Year lost of therapies for my son. Please be aware of this and don't choose this practice. This is a very good practice. My son is now 11 and has been going here since birth. I've never had anything but great experiences from the office. To address what other people have written... The size of the exam rooms are fine. They are at least 10'*10'. How much more room do you need? For those complaining about waiting, sure there's a triage mentality to some respect there, so you might have to wait a little longer some days. But if they didn't do that, I'm sure people would complain that they couldn't get immediate appointments at a moment's notice. There's a give and take that people need to accept. As for the staff, the doctors are knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate. What else could you ask for? read more

One word to sum it up: No. Here it is common practice to lead you into a closet sized exam room and make you wait anywhere from 25-40 additional minutes. This has happened nearly every time we've been here. It is my belief based on my observations of what the regular waiting room looks like after leaving that they do this as a tactic to keep their waiting room from looking like it's too busy. DO NOT CALL me into an exam room unless you're ready to see me within a REALISTIC 2-3 minutes! This will only get you a seriously negative public review (1 star). I'm at the Dr. because I'm sick, my child is sick, or we have a check-up appointment. At no time under any of these circumstances is there an excuse for making anyone wait this long. I'm feeling the need to write a review to balance out the only other review that appears to far. We've been taking our daughter and our newborn son to Forestream Peds for about a year, and to date, can say nothing but good things. We primarily see Dr. Gelman, who is always prompt, courteous, and is very generous with her time. We never feel rushed, and have never been forced to wait an inordinate amount of time in either the waiting room or the exam rooms. The entire staff from the receptionist to the nurses are all very accommodating and patient with us. No complaints whatsoever, and i would recommend this office and Dr. Gelman to anyone who asked us. read more

This place is wonderful. Taking my kids here ever since they were born. Dr. Gellman and all the staff here are absolutely wonderful. I have had to wait for 2-3 minutes into 1 room and only 10-15 minutes in a exam room. What else can you ask for? All the staff here is amazing, kind, and helpful. All the doctors and nurses always treat us with respect and give us the best medical care possible. I would never take my kids anywhere else but here. When you arrive, the waiting is always clean and empty. Then the nurse calls you back promptly to weigh you child and then as you pass the exam rooms, which are all full the dreaded wait is about to begin!! I have never left the office in under an hour and half. They take you out of the waiting room, where there is a TV with childrens movies into an empty room with old torn books but colorful walls. Honestly, how many times can you point to a wall of fish and animals to keep your child occupied for an hour????? Leave us in the waiting room until the doctor is ready! We don't mind waiting there honestly. Now flu season is under way and instead of scheduling them during the week or evening hours, we have to wait a month for the first flu clinic?? I am sorry but I thought this about child care? You know the ones that pay your salary and are noe back to school with all the germs that pass from one another to cause to flu? They have staffing issues? Is this the parents fault or the managers fault? Did they not know Flu season was coming? Its like being an accountant and taking off in April! Yes, I love Dr. Gellman, she answers all your questions and your time is as important as the next parents in the other room, it's just getting her into the room thats the problem! read more

The positive review must be family. Standard procedure here is check in and be called into waiting room 2 minutes after arrival. From there you get called into a room where you should prepare to wait 30-40 minutes. There have been times we've had to open the door to make sure we weren't forgotten. Friendly but they deserve a low rating. You don't make infants who you hear crying wait that long. If that's the case you are taking more appointments than you can handle. read more

My children have been patients of Forestream Peds since they opened. We have never had anything but excellent care. Our primary is Dr. Gellman, and she is wonderful. It was recommended that our son have a very unusual treatment by a specialist. She was unfamiliar with the process, but took a lot of time to research it and gave us her recommendation and even fought for us with the insurance company. Dr. Schulman has stitched up many of my children and has such a soothing way about him. Once he was able to diagnose a serious intestinal problem over the phone, called the ER ahead of time and had us seen immediately where they were able to treat my child. Dr. Price is also very thorough and soothing to my children. Each of these doctors know us and even ask about my other children while I'm there. That is really something to be said in these times of in and out medical care. On a side note, who would be writing a review on this office from California? I think they may have the wrong practice. We've rarely had to wait and if we did I figure some child is sicker than mine and deserves the care and time I want. My time is important too, but caring Dr are way more important. read more

Currently searching for a new pediatrician after waiting over an hour in the examination room before walking out. As an employee in the Healthcare field I understand that nurses and doctors get busy and sometimes backed up but when no one even pops in to say that they are sorry they are backed up and give a realistic time of how much longer the wait will be there is NO EXCUSE! As stated after waiting over an hour trying to entertain my 5 & 3 year Olds we finally left and after telling the receptionist at the front window our reason for leaving and not even being rude to her as it is not her fault not even an apology from her. At least if they left us in the waiting area my children could have watched the DVD that was on and read more books. My kids have been patients at Forestream Peds since birth - my oldest was born in 2014. I love this practice. Call backs from the on-call doctor are very, very quick. When I call with a question for a nurse, I get a call back within the hour. When I call with a sick kid, they get me an appointment that same day. The staff is always friendly and polite. I have waited longer than I felt was appropriate on a couple occasions but I try to avoid the doctor that I know is usually running a little behind. But I never feel rushed by the doctors - they always take their time and make sure my questions are answered. I would definitely recommend this practice. read more

Have been taking my son here over three years. We have had many office visits in that time and only had to wait a lengthy period of time once. Two days ago my son had an urgent medical issue and they had us come in and seen fairly quickly. This got us much safer medical care than we would have gotten if we had to go to an ER or Urgent Care because they were familiar with my son's history. I am sure that because of us, someone else had to wait that night--it's unfortunate when you need to wait, but know that if your child has a medical issue you will get the correct help you need. I believe they take patients to the exam room so that there are not sick and healthy kids mixed together for too long, which I also appreciate. Every single staff person there has been friendly and helpful, I have never felt rushed and my son actually enjoys going to the doctor! read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I have been a patient at Forestream Pediatrics for several years and love my doctor Wendy Gellman. The first encounter with the office on my own was horrible. I was having uncontrollable convulsions probably due to high levels of stress and became concerned, so I called to schedule an appointment. I explained the situation to the nurse on the phone, who, when I asked to schedule an appointment, told me to hold so that she could speak with a doctor about my condition. A couple minutes later and she came back on the phone, stating that they've never heard of the problem before, but I should stick it out (having uncontrollable convulsions, then having been two days already) and if they keep up, I should go to the ER. Completely confused as to why they refused an appointment for me, I continued on suffering through my convulsions, attending classes, until a professor saw me shaking and took me to my campus' healthcare center. A few months later, I had a scheduled yearly physical where I then told my doctor about how I was refused an appointment. She sounded confused as to why, and TOLD ME that I had no choice but she is going to take a blood sample to see if there's anything wrong. I told her there's no point, since the attack happened months ago, but she again told me I had no choice and she was just going to check. She took the blood sample, and on my way out the door, I was given paperwork about the blood sample. Mind you, after blood was drawn. About a month later, I receive a bill from Quest Diagnostics for almost $200. It seemed high to me, but I paid the bill and was on my way. About another TWO MONTHS later, I receive yet ANOTHER Quest bill, for about another $100, showing that my blood had been tested for several other things that I had not approved. I called the office, and was told that my doctor was out of the office and would be in the next morning to talk to. I called the next morning, and was then told that she wouldn't be in the office that day, but the secretary said she would try to help me. I told her about the bill and she told me that they would call me back the next day. They did not call me back the next day, so I called them and then they told me they would call me after the weekend. Mind you, the bill is due that next Tuesday. Monday, again they do not call me, and I have to call them AGAIN for the third time to get this straightened out. They tell me that the billing rep is not in the office and they will call me on Tuesday, the day this bill is due. AGAIN, they do not call me back, leaving me to call them for the FOURTH time in a row about this ONE issue. They put me on hold several times that Tuesday, and the lady that I spoke to TOLD ME that I was given the paperwork before leaving my doctors office to go to Quest for the bloodwork done. I DID NOT go to Quest, I got my blood drawn by nurses at my doctors office, and was handed the paperwork AFTER it was already drawn. This is now about three months after the actual appointment, and for this one time having blood drawn for an issue that wasn't addressed by them in the first place, am being billing about THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS. She told me that she can't do anything about the bill and left me with no answers. I was forced to pay the extra bill, and not go grocery shopping for a month. Today, I received a letter in the mail from them, another bill of $3.75, stating no explanation of the bill, and that the letter was sent because they could not tell me about the bill in person. I have not been to the office since that last appointment, and have had no interaction with them where they should be billing me for anything more. Tomorrow, I will be calling them to dispute this random, unfounded charge, and getting my records sent to another doctors office. If you enjoy bills, they're the office for you. read more

I took my son here who was born in February of this year. The reason I chose this Pediatrician is because I heard good things, however my experience has been nothing less then hell. Every time I made an appointment for my baby boy, I would literally sit inside the room for over an hour with a screaming infant. They do not know how to prioritize patients especially by age. Imagine trying to keep an infant calm when your stuck in a room for over an hour, not fun! Also, the other day my 4 month old spiked a fever of 102.7 so i brought him to Mercy Hospital where they wanted to administer blood work and also a catheter. He hadn't had a fever yet for more then a couple hours, what if it was just a virus? would I actually want to put my tiny baby through all of that poking and prodding for no apparent reason? So i refused those tests. The next morning I brought him into Forestream to See his Doctor. Dr Gellman, proceeds to tell me they would have to do the same tests there, so I finally agree, like an idiot. They stick a catheter in my son and no urine comes out, I don't know probably because he was dehydrated which they should have thought about prior to putting a catheter in. Then they go to take blood work and can't find a vein, holding my son down fishing around in his arm, I lost it at that point HELLO......I am not a doctor but if you can't get urine, then you will not be able to find a vein if he is dehydrated. Some people should rethink there professions, medicine is all about money these days not about the well being of the patient. Dr. Gellman should of been smart enough to think maybe the baby has a virus, maybe we should give it another 24 hours and just keep an eye it instead of doing such extensive treatment. My mother who is also not a doctor told me to keep an eye on it and give him infant Tylenol...don't you know my mother was right. Needless to say I am looking for a new pediatrician. Think twice before bringing your baby here! read more
