First, let me start with the staff. Laura and Jennifer are AMAZING! Anytime I had an inquiry, a request, or the very select few times I had a concern, they always made sure to take care of it. And forgive me for not knowing his name, but the gentleman in charge of maintenance is AWESOME! Always quick to take care of an issue you may have (minus normal hours - that's normal!). It all starts with attitude, and this staff has the best! As for living, if you are looking for a place that helps you feel secluded, peaceful, but close to everything, this is the place to live. The only concern is limited parking in front of your unit, but that only happens if you are coming home late at night. Morning and throughout the day is no problem, and there are other spaces available across the complex if something isn't in front of your unit. You might have to walk a couple minutes, but again, only if you are trying to park late at night (around 9:30-10). The appliances are up to date or new, there is plenty of space with the garage (snow...think about it) and it is a very relaxing place and community. Plus, you will have a nice welcome kit waiting for you (won't spoil it) Thank you to the staff for my short, but enjoyable, stay. You are VERY good at what you do!

Honestly, my two years in Grand Rapids would've been rough without it. Choosing Ridges of Cascade was easy. Here is the reason why.... Office Staff - Nicole and Dottie both have been absolutely amazing. The level of communication and care you provided was more than I've ever experienced anywhere else. No matter what I needed, they were always there to help in some way. From quick replies to clear and thoughtful updates about changes, road work, community events, and more -- they kept everything running smoothly and made me feel truly looked after. Maintenance Team I'm pretty sure I kept them the busiest! There were times I felt like I might've been a bit of a handful with my requests, but they always showed up with professionalism and care. The quality of work they put into maintaining the apartments really shows -- from the precise painting on walls and baseboards to clean flooring, solid cabinet hinges, rust-free fixtures, and spotless faucets. Even the thermostats looked new! Seriously, it's the best-maintained place I've ever lived in. The entire team at Ridges of Cascade does an outstanding job, and it's obvious to anyone who lives there. My only (very small) complaint is that no one ever accepted water or a cold drink from me on those hot days. Highly-recommend this place anyone looking for a nice quiet hope to live in. It's been almost a year since we moved out of Walnut Hills and we just found out from a collection…read moreagency that Walnut Hills is trying to bill us $218 to replace carpet in one of the bedrooms due to stains. As a perk of signing a one-year renewal (we lived there approximately three years), tenants are supposed to get a professional carpet cleaning. The property manager at the time told me information would be posted on my door about how to schedule the cleaning appointment but that never happened. They never made any effort to send someone out to clean our carpet. Had I known they would try to bill me for carpet stains later, I would have made sure they followed through. When my wife brought this up with someone over the phone, they admitted it never got done but said it makes no difference. Regarding the part where we are finding out about this debt almost a year later, they claim they did not get our forwarding address and were unable to mail us our bill. This is an absolute lie as they had me come into the office and fill out a "move out" form prior to us moving out. I gave them all our future contact information as we knew exactly where we were moving. Additionally, I included my phone number (even though they already had it on record) in a brief "thank you" letter that I included when I turned in our key. If they lost that form I completed, that is on them but it is my credit score that is taking the hit. Now we are getting the run-around because Walnut Hills claims they don't have our information anymore and the corporate office claims they can't even share our own records with us. Hilariously, the collection agency has been sending all correspondence to our old Walnut Hills address. It's a total mess. Other than that--yes, the dumpsters were always overflowing. Keep your windows shut unless you live on the third floor. The building AC units are incredibly weak so we had to run the AC constantly just to get the unit temperature down to 85 degrees in the Summer. Our electric bills were twice as high (~$250/m) as the electric bills in our new house. Factor that into your budget if you are considering living here. On the plus side, many of the people that live here are very nice and this complex is a quick jog from Tokyo Grill, First Wok and Horrocks. There are beautiful walking trails nearby which we walked many times as a family. We had only positive experiences with the maintenance staff. They were always prompt and took care of any issues we had. The one star I'm including in this rating was earned by our five-star experience with the maintenance staff. It's a real shame that Walnut Hills has resorted to such crooked shenanigans especially after my wife helped prevent a building fire from breaking out by contacting the proper channels after one of our neighbors left a pan of food on the burner before leaving her apartment. At least one other person heard the smoke alarm and did nothing. I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

They got rid of the drop box and are only open when I am at work. It took 4 months of saying I can't pay online to finally be able to pay online. Then over a week later I get an email that my payment did not go through from the payment service. The office never let me know my payment was late or didn't go through. Being a good and honest person, I called the office to let them know I would be in to make the payment the next day. I was informed that I know owe more money in fees! Management is not helpful at all - all they do is make excuses and try to extort as much money as possible. They promise a plethora of amenities but none of those are maintained in the slightest - the "pool" literally was closed for the entire summer of 2021 and opened for just 2 weeks at the end of August. Our apartment itself was also infested with roaches and the maintenance did nothing about it despite multiple email exchanges from us asking them to just come inspect the apartment. Overall a terrible place to live. Don't be fooled by the old positive reviews, we lived here in 2021 and I have trouble believing it's improved even marginally since then.

We didn't realize the movie theatre doors would be locked until about 10:50am so we waited outside for another 10 minutes beforehand until we were able to get in. Once we were inside, the employee was visibly frustrated as the server was down. She informed us that she could not ring any concessions up so she offered a small boat of popcorn instead; she was certain the servers would eventually be back up... we decided to try ordering via the QR code in the theatre since she said online orders would work... well that didn't work because it never made it to them since the server was down... so we walked to the concessions area and showed our receipt to retrieve our water and popcorn bucket. As we made it back to our seats we noticed others appearing in the theatre with their popcorn boats for each person along with drinks... I guess we should have just asked for free drinks instead of paying for concessions today. What an overall bummer. On top of that, my daughters chair never heated up no matter how many times she tried pressing the button. I think we will probably steer clear of first of the day movies at studio park from here on out. I did put a complaint into the guest relations and got an AI style response offering a $10 voucher to use within 90 days. Cool but that doesn't really help with the cost of today's messy situation. They mention they can't refund fees (which - ordering online was literally the only way to pay for anything and they charge you for "convenience") ... how ironic. So $10 was their token of apology? Sorry, but I think this just further adds to the reason I don't venture to the theatre much anymore. Our grand total for 2 tickets, 2 bottles of water and a popcorn bucket was $49.62. That price would have been fine if everything was properly working but when systems are down and chairs are broken - what a bummer.

I moved from out of state and was held up in traffic, arriving as the office was closing. The staff member stayed after hours to complete my move-in paperwork! The amenities are great, it's in a great location, and the units themselves are beautiful. I'm thoroughly stumped as to why some of the reviews are negative about the Brix. I have lived in different apartments through college and grad school, and this is by far the best. Yes, it is expensive, but you get what you pay for! I have no problems with noise, I find my neighbors to be very respectful. My apartment was clean when I moved in, and I see the staff cleaning in the common areas all the time. I love that each unit has a balcony and an in-unit washer and dryer - something I am looking for as I move out-of-state for work. My job is taking me elsewhere, but the staff worked with me to individualize my lease dates for what works best for me -- this was a massive help and something I did not expect. I would highly recommend living here.
