I was trying to beat the freeze snap that came about this week and rather than destroy the lock with a pair of large channel locks....and hoping not to destroy the metal door wood matrix filler....I found D&K Lock and Key in Yelp and made contact within 10 minutes of posting. Arrangements were made for the owner, Daniel Barber to come out yesterday afternoon to perform a lock out service as well as rekey the exterior locks. The total cost for the service was more than reasonable rather than buying new locks along with gaining entry into the house. Not that I peeking over Daniel's shoulder to steal any trade secrets...but watching an expert at work to gain entry without and damage to the door or wear and tear on the knob lock was something to watch. Within the hour of his arrival, he was done...having rekeyed all of the dead bolts and knob locks. While he was in his truck, I turned on the furnace for the upcoming freeze for the next few nights; checked on a few things that need to be addressed and ready to return with tools and materials to start re-vamping the house. Response time was outstanding. Professional lock out service was also outstanding. The value of the work and total savings given the alternative made for a good day on the jobsite. Thanks to Yelp and their client contacting services....that task was completed in record time and still on schedule. Thanks to Daniel Barber and D&K Lock & Key for not only being on time and on quote....but he's a good Christian man that I would trust on any job.

Live blog of this review: Starting at 5- stars. They perform a service that most locksmiths can't…read more 11:35 I hire this company($110). I am told they will arrive between 3:30 and 4pm. This company can originate a new car key and program it if you need them to. Not something can be said for all locksmith companies. They charge more than it would cost for me to go and get new keys cut and programmed from the dealership, so I go and pickup the unprogrammed, cut computer keys up from Jim Ellis Mazda in Marietta. ($75)(In order to have them take care of the whole job, I would have to tow my car all the way up there.) 2:15 I get a call from the company asking me to go and test the keys to make sure that they turn. They don't want to send someone out before I make sure that the keys work. Fair enough. 2:30 I get home. The key works. I call them up. Tell them the great news. They say great. 1-1.5 hours till I can drive. 3:50 I receive a call stating that techs are backed up and cannot come out until 5-5:30. boo. (4-stars) I ask for a discount. I am told that there will be no discount on services. (3-stars).... but there is a coupon on the website for $10 off. (back to 4-stars) 4:42 Tech shows up. Raheem: Super friendly and outgoing... I instantly like him. Quick service. Finished in 10 minutes. Not much to complain about overall. A great company with some unique offerings. Raheem is cool. Staff is cool in general. Competitively priced. I added their website to their yelp listing. There is a coupon on their website. Use it. 5-Stars.
