I saw some good reviews for this location, so I drove by on a Saturday right before they closed and chatted with the owner, Brian. He hopped in the car and drove 1 yard, immediately told me what he thought it was, and warned me to avoid driving the rest of the weekend as grinding the wheel in extreme heat was risky. He said to come back first thing Monday morning to get it lifted up and properly examined. Came back Monday and the team figured out I needed to replace the caliper and brakes. Price was fair and they said they could do it same day within 3 hours, so I let them work on it and had them do an oil change as well. I'm very grateful for Brian and his team, taking the time to explain what was actually needed and why, and not overselling me on additional services. I'm so glad I finally found a new trusted mechanic! Will definitely take my car to Brian and the team for all future maintenance services.

Brian estimated that he could have my car fixed within a few days. The whole job took one week because he found other significant damage in the interior of my car which I didn't know about. Overall he communicated well, asked if I wanted to fix everything and had such a positive attitude. Also they do excellent work for a reasonable price. I almost wanted to keep this gem to myself but the world (or Silver Spring) needs to know where to go for superior auto care whether mechanical or auto body. They also cleaned the interior of my car. I don't want to come back for anything other than oil changes but if I need a job done in the future, I know where to go. I really liked that they schedule your vehicle like an appointment, where other inspection stations, you pull into a vehicle waiting line, where you park your car behind the one in front of you, as the cars move along, slowly, you have to start your car an inch forward, ypu can be stuck in your car for 3, or even 4 hours. This was a nice change! Drop off our car and go on with your day. I could have recieved a ride to wherever I needed in the area, but decided to stick around. John said it would be 1.5-2 hour wait. No problem, I'll hang out. Which I usually don't like to do.. but I'll tell you why I did. The company shop is well lit, exceptionally clean and had some nice creature comforts, not the hard plastic chairs you usually find, but a couple of love seats, and very comfortable chairs. The obligatory coffee machine (Keurig) , hot water (for Tea) or cold water. A very Clean restroom and they have a friendly atmosphere among the staff & customers. I also was pleasantly surprised at how clean & organized the bays were. Not the greasy, dusty, dirty bays you usually see in other auto shops. Not only did they complete the vehicle inspection but also provided a free diagnostics, complete with photos of areas of concern on my vehicle, but also recommendations for future service, where either I could do the repair or they would schedule it & complete the job. I also recieved an electronic copy for my files. I will be coming back for more than my vehicle inspection sticker!! I received more value from Craftsman Auto Care than the cost of the inspection! We towed it to the Tysons Subaru dealership where it was purchased, thinking they'd do the best job. The dealership took 3 WEEKS to even get us AN ESTIMATE, and they wanted to replace the ENTIRE electrical system for NEARLY $6,000. We wanted a second opinion. A friend recommended Moshe's Auto Care -- backed up by stellar reviews. When we called, Moshe was kind and honest. He couldn't give us an estimate without seeing the car, but having decades of experience, he couldn't imagine charging thousands for rodent damage. The car was towed to Moshe, and he started work immediately. He was able to repair -- not replace -- the wiring, for LESS THAN $400. And he did it in half a day. We finally had our car back, fully functional, within hours vs. weeks. Dealership: 3 weeks, nearly $6,000. Moshe: 3 hours, under $400.
