Tazz Hitt, the lead plumber, contacted me directly, arrived promptly, and walked me through everything he was doing. He performed a thorough inspection of the generator, gas meter, and lines, explaining the process and safety considerations along the way. Thankfully, no leak was found on my property--we believe the smell may have been coming from a neighboring line--but having that level of diligence gave me real peace of mind. I also want to highlight Tina in the office, who was incredibly kind, responsive, and clearly advocated for getting me same-day service given the situation. That morning he called ahead asking if he could come in a few hours early, and to me that was a good sign of ethics, so yes and the day started off positive. That drain upstairs was more trouble than expected. The pipes had a 90° elbow one foot below the drain that made a drain cleaner snake impossible. Sheldon had to cut open the wall behind the bathroom and operate from there. His prognosis was spot on and the repair was finished in an hour or so, total time. Sheldon wrote an invoice and honored the amount quoted on the phone that was very much appreciated. That says a lot about a man and that is hard to find in the business world today. We provided a new water heater from HomeDepot for him to install and when he unboxed it there was a big dent in the top. Sheldon loaded it up in his truck and brought it to Home Depot to exchange for us at no charge. He then proceeded to open up boxes at the store until he found one in perfect condition. While they were out, we asked them to service the unit, which they did. The unit has worked fine until now, June of 2022. It has recently been giving us problems, so we called and asked them to come out again and service the unit, which they did. The repair only lasted a few weeks but being an older unit, we called and asked them to give us an updated quote to replace. The first quote from 8/2021 was $1,690.00, and 10 months later the new quote was for $23,100.00. When I called them, their response was that they needed to send out two guys to do the job and that they needed to make money. They also told me that all prices have gone up.
