Zero stars. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND WASTE YOUR TIME. MOST OF THEIR TECHNICIANS ARE IDIOTS, AND THE ONE SALESPERSON I TALKED TO WAS AN ABSOULTE MORON. I signed up for AccuTemp's star service plan in fall of 2023. Since then, the level of service I have received from them is INDISTINGHISHABLE FROM FRAUD. I joined their "Star Service" (monthly membership) plan, which (by our contract) covers two annual checks to home HVAC. I pay monthly to receive service. The agreement with Star Service is that they call in advance of when my HVAC is due for a check, and schedule a day when a technician will come by to service the HVAC. Star Service (by our contract) also covers some amount of freon recharge each year. Accutemp can never you what time of day they are coming (not great but reasonable). The legal agreement we have is a decent plan. Every month, I pay my monthly fee. I have this on auto-pay. I pay every month, and I never pay late. ACCUTEMP TAKES MY MONEY. AND ALL I GET ARE PROBLEMS. Here's a list of some of the problems: First, for the past three dates (spring 2025, fall 2025, and now, today, in 2026) when I have made a date for a technician to come for service, they fail to show up. I have to take a day off work for this, and it is absolutely disrespectful for them to fail to honor a commitment - repeatedly. IIRC, this is three of the five times I've scheduled service with them - a 40% success rate - which is poor. Each time they cancel, they offer a "$100 service credit," which for some BS reason I can never use when I ask to. When I told a technician about their no show rate, he said, "That's crazy. We're usually not even busy." Second, part of the star service is for annual refills on freon, which is expensive, so it's a good part of the deal. However, NEVER since I have signed up with them have they actually filled up my freon. There is ALWAYS an excuse on why they can't do it. Zero of the service checks I've had from them have resulted in this service. That is a 0% success rate. It is difficult to imagine a scenario where this low of a success rate is poor performance. It really looks like fraud. Third, most of there technicians are idiots. The first visit I had was from a technician (named Sanford I think), who was competent. The others have been useless. The last technician who came to service my HVAC could not tell me the proper tonnage on my HVAC unit. We argued about this, and he was clearly wrong. They sent a salesperson to review options for repair or replacement, and he was also wrong about the tonnage. This is one of the most basic competencies I'd expect from someone in the HVAC business, and it makes them fundamentally either dishonest or incompetent (or both). Today, I had a scheduled appointment. Yesterday, they sent a text that I had an appointment, and I confirmed. Today they send a message saying they are overbooked, and cannot make it. I called customer service, and as usual, they were no help. The poor girl on the customer service line, "Tiffany" said she'd refer my case to her manager, "Patrick" (whose last name she did not know). Imagine not knowing your manager's last name. EVERY TIME I SCHEDULE IT IS THE SAME THING. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. I JUST WANT MY FREON REFILLED WITH MY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN SERVICE CREDIT SO I CAN CANCEL STAR SERVICE AND ESCAPE THE CONTRACT WITH THESE IDIOTS AND MOVE ON WITH MY LIFE. Accutemp charged me $400 BEFORE any work was done at my house to unclog my toilet. The plumber that showed up left after pulling out a couple leaves and left me with a clogged toilet and out $400. I will NEVER do business with accutemp again and I warn ANYONE to stay away from this business. I was ignored on 3 separate occasions trying to get a refund for their plumber not performing the service I paid for. I got ignored, I called an independent plumber not affiliated with accutemp who came out and fixed my problem same day for $200! Half the price and much more reliable accutemp. read more

Do NOT use Accutemp. We had the maintenance program paying $300 a year. Within 5 days of their "maintenance" our AC stopped working. It took 4 techs to figure out we had a leak in our coils large enough for all Freon to leak out in 2-5 days. Also, after having someone independently look at our system it turns out they never even cracked the original seal on the evaporation coil casing screws to do maintenance or check if the problem was there. It was the beginning of October when the leak was discovered. They initially told us 2 weeks. They were clearly irritated when I called to check in on the status telling me to wait for them to call me. After 2 weeks they told us a month. Then February. We asked if they could order the part from another company and they LIED and said that company was the only one that made the part for our AC. Patrick stated there were multiple leaks and it could not be repaired. It turns out it was only one leak that could have been repaired. No one was ever apologetic or cared. It thankfully was cooler than summer but we still had a newborn and it's south Louisiana. read more

Our new AC system is less than a year old. This is the 2nd time we have had an issue with it. We just put in a call to their "24/7" service and was told we would not have anyone to come out until Wednesday, today is Monday. The temp was 99 today. Many, many reasons. They left my A/C unplugged in the attic. They disconnected my hot water heater. They dug a trench to pipe and left it uncovered. They broke off a piece of my patio and made a half hearted and unacceptable repair. They charged me to have my entire house reputed for gas. My gas lamps no longer work. I spent days waiting for appointments with Entergy that they were supposed to arrange and coordinate. They did none of it and I had to do it myself. He was in the attic working on ducts as well as the unit. paid $1700 for a surge protector on 1 unit, 3 ultraviolet lights and repair on a door to 1 unit. The next day I noticed a register close to the unit was hanging from the ceiling. Told it had nothing to do with his work but the screw holding it up was too short. charged an additional $69 for the call which probably lasted 10 minutes. Seriously? I've been a customer for years. This is no way to treat a loyal good customer. I have bought 6 or 7 compressors from them and a generator plus had service contracts on multiple houses. read more

The technician came out and decided that the thermostat was the problem ( even though we had replaced it 3 months before). He quoted me a price of $750 for the thermostat. We were out of town at the time so we approved the work. After replacing the thermostat, the unit worked for a day before cutting off like it did before replacing the thermostat. We checked on Amazon and the exact thermostat was $72. Accutemp was called back out and then decided it might be the blower motor for which they would change out for $1000. After all that, WE discovered it was a loose wire!!! Would NOT call these incompetent people! read more

We called AccuTemp to come out and unplugged a kitchen sink drain not draining. We waited for half a day for someone to come only to find they wanted to charge us $443.00 for a job not complete. The technician was not knowledgeable and after 40 minutes of snaking the drain it was still clogged. He left and told us the line has to be hydro jet for additional costs that might be $600. Completely unfair pricing and not knowledgeable tech. My problem was not solved after two hours at a cost of $443. Accutemp is false advertising since plumbing is not part of their forte. We called another company and had the problem resolve in 30 minutes at half the price. read more

we were without a/c on a Saturday, called our regular guy but couldn't reach him. so, I called AccuTemp, explained my situatio, I have my 94 yr old mom living with me. they sent someone out quickly and got the a/c working, however found problems with the installation that was causing the problems. they sent and electrician out to correct the problem and in doing that he called a tech to come and check everything out that our home warranty company had installed. to our surprise, our a/c was a connected with wrong wiring, the intakes for it were half blocked, the exhaust pipe was cracked and the 'patches' were breaking down. all in all, our system was so messed up we were losing efficiency and paying higher electric bills. We hired them to correct all the problems and even install new equipment. Their prices were very very fair and workmanship was excellent. I have a friend who is very knowledgeable in that kind of work and he was impressed and told me that AccuTemp had done a fantastic job in correcting all the problems that American Home Shield technicians had messed up! read more

They replaced an A/C and within a year the compressor went out. It took them THREE weeks to get the replacement part and the unit up and running. Three weeks during the summer in Louisiana without A/C. We could tell the customer service personnel were trying to help us, but nobody beyond their front-line support ever tried to help or even called us throughout the process. We called accutemp Wednesday advised them we needed an electrician to come out and take care of our fire suppressant system's microchip (per the fire suppressant company) accutemp took our information and then contacted us back to make the appt and confirm it for Friday 9am. I received a call 1.5 hr before they were supposed to come out to tell me I need to contact the fire suppressant company to ask if they have someone to come out for the job. This could have easily been informed to me when I called to make the appointment. The fire suppressant company already came out to do their part and only the electrician needs to come out to complete the microchip side. The fact that they had to call me back Wednesday to set up and confirm the appointment made me feel that they knew what they were coming out to do. Sadly, that's not the case. They didn't even make an attempt to come out to see what was supposed to be done. But now I know, Accutemp is false advertising since electrician is not part of their forte. read more

If I could give a 0 star review I would. These guys went from a home grown service focused company to a business solely focused on profit and growth. My personal experience is them quoting my mother to diagnose her two A/C units at her house. They charged her $75 per unit just to quote the work then quoted approximately $1k to resolve the issue on one of the units and told her the other would have to be diagnosed separately and they would have check and see if the warranty was valid(when they were in fact the original installers). I got involved, brought in another mechanical company to compare pricing and my inclination that AccuTemp was trying to take advantage of my mother was confirmed. The other company was able to resolve the issues on both of the units on the same day I called them for $267. Josh, Please go ahead and reimburse my mom for the fees your charged her. Also, I should probably mention the drain line y'all installed that has caused my moms house to flood on the second floor multiple times. You need to reach out to her and make it right. I scheduled a plumber through their website, because I had a leaking pipe. Received email confirmation a plumber would come same day. Bizarrely, their dispatcher called and said she thinks it is a duct issue and she would like to send an hvac tech first, and she promised to send a plumber right away if the hvac tech doesn't find an issue. The hvac tech came, charged a trip fee, and agreed the problem is a plumbing leak. Their plumber never showed up that day nor the next. I called the office and they bizarrely said they want to send out a washing machine repair man, not a plumber. I've repeatedly requested a refund for the hvac trip that I never wanted, but they refuse to refund it. Seems like a scam to send out whoever they have available rather than the type of pro you actually need. (I called a different company and the new company sent out an actual plumber who diagnosed and repaired the leak.) read more

We hired them to come diagnose and fix our home generator. After 3 appointment misses due to rain and lack of them communicating they finally came out to look at it. He said it would cost $600 to fix and ordered a few parts. Took weeks to get the follow up appointment after they stated the parts were in. He came to install said parts then claimed we needed a new starter which we ordered and said he would come put it in. As of now it's been 2 months since we ordered the starter and he refuses to answer our calls and texts. We've been patient and understanding but I have a daughter that has special needs we require a running generator to handle her equipment when the power is out. My water heater quit working so I requested service from these guys to come out and fix it. Jeremy was personable enough and managed to get the unit to relight, but didn't do any diagnostic to figure out why it stopped working in the first place. If I could rate lower than 1 star, I would. This company is such a disappointment. We have used you guys for YEARS now and the way you've treated us for an issue that could've been easily avoided and is your fault, is just not okay. Our AC unit that was installed less than 1.5 years ago (and cost a small fortune) has not been working for a week now. As a "star maintenance plan member", don't waste your money. A tech came out 3 weeks ago (2 weeks before this all happened) to check the system and said everything was running fine and suggested we change our filter inside the cabinet (never ever ever been told this before). We changed it ourselves (based on the recommendation the tech gave us) only to find out our system only needs that filter and NOT the hallway vent filter. We were NEVER told to only use the cabinet filter after having 2 ENTIRE systems installed with Accutemp. REALLY? Record heat has gotten our house up to 90 degrees and we have pets so we were forced to shell out hundreds more dollars to make sure no one had a heat stroke by first buying a portable AC unit (didn't work) and then a window unit (thankfully it works). Were we offered any kind of help such as someone come install a window unit or pay for a hotel room for a couple nights? NOPE. Instead, we have been greeted with incompetency. Part should be in today or tomorrow for a "temp fix" but we shall see. Was told the part would take up to 30-60 days to come in but I have no faith that it will actually be here in that time frame or that Accutemp will contact us like they're supposed to. I wish I could make this up. We will NEVER use this company ever again no matter what and I will be telling everyone how awful you are. read more

Be aware that this company's fees are above high end. Knowing what was wrong with my furnace, I gave the company the serial numbers for the furnace and the faulty part when I called for service. The technician switched out the part (after confirming my diagnosis within two minutes) within 15 minutes. I was billed: $85.00 diagnostic and $352.04 for parts and labor. The part itself costs no more than $85.00 anywhere, therefore I was charged more than $250.00 for 15 minutes of work (not including the diagnostic fee, which was also above average) - well above any other high-end service fee. This company, specifically Kerry, is amazing! He had been helping us with our ancient system for over ten years without any sales pressure. When we were finally ready to get a new system we were confident that he had our backs and gave us the best price for the system we wanted. The installation crew was spectacular, fast, polite, clean and professional. We got our system completely removed and replaced in ONE DAY! As I cooled off that evening I never knew they were there as they literally swept the floor as they walked out the door. HIGHLY recommend this company. We are a lifetime customer for sure! As a bonus, new system is so quiet and efficient I have to feel the vents to see if it's on as there is NO noise. Super bonus first month's bill was $100 less! read more
