I want to start by saying that the plumber that came to my house couldn't have been nicer or more professional if he tried. Unfortunately, 14 days after the plumber came out and snaked my lines, telling me that everything was clear and draining, my sink, and dishwasher are backing up again. After calling Jake's Plumbing, I was told that there is no warranty on cleaning drain lines out even though it had only been two weeks. In order to have a plumber from Jake's Plumbing come out, I would have to pay the dispatch fee, the drain cleaning fee, the truck fee, and the equipment fee again. This cost $363.00 just two weeks ago and they expect that I would pay them another $363.00 for the same work just 14 days later. What kind of company doesn't warranty their work for at least a couple of weeks? That alone sounds shady. So, just be aware that if you use Jake's Plumbing, you are absolutely on your own after they do their work and you pay them. They do not warranty or honor the work that they do for drain cleaning. What an easy way for Jake's Plumbing to get $726.00 from a customer in a 2 week span- as the customer, I am basically being held hostage (extorted) for the next $363.00 because their original job wasn't completed correctly and now my sink and dishwasher are backing up. My suggestion is to not use this plumbing company. This is really a poor way to handle your business. read more

Very Unprofessional, DO NOT USE. They left my yard in a mess, and didn't even try to clean up after themselves. I had to call them back several times to finish a job. They do not return phone calls, They hardly ever came at the time or the day we were told. I was told they were going to go to another job and would come after that, then I would get a call from his office saying we will try and come back tomorrow. If you live in the Greater Baton Rouge area and need plumbing work done, DO NOT USE JAKE'S PLUMBING BASED IN DENHAM SPRINGS! About a year and a half after we moved into our home we began having issues with our master toilet not flushing when it rained. After a year and half of calling plumbers and the City of Baton Rouge to assess and diagnose the problem we hired Jake's Plumbing to come fix what was determined to be busted pipes from overgrown roots in our front flower bed. While Jake's initially fixed that issue, within a week we began having sewage backup from under our toilets. Jake's Plumbing gave us a number of reasons why this occurred and we were told we would need to have a portion of our driveway taken out and a pipe replaced, that supposedly ran under the driveway, and tied back into our city line. We paid for the work that we believed was completed. We then began having sewage back up through our kitchen sink and guest bath tub. Plumbers from Jake's Plumbing came out and after speaking to us extremely disrespectfully and like we were complete idiots performed a CO2 blast to clear the lines. They also lied to their boss at one point claiming we would not allow them in the house to do the work. We continued to have issues when it rained and the city replaced a line at the street. While they were running cameras to find what they needed to do we were advised we should consider contacting an attorney because not only was there no line placed in the area where Jake's Plumbing removed our concrete there was also poorly laid pipe from their original work. We had all of this confirmed with a second plumber, who is self proclaimed to be the most expensive plumbing company in the area. This plumber also said that for all the work we had done we should have paid about $5k had we hired them. We had paid Jake's Plumbing just over 9k from the initial diagnostic visit, the original work, and the second job that included the removal of concrete, the placement of a pipe that they did not place, and the replacement of the concrete. When we confronted Jake of Jake's Plumbing he had a multitude of excuses for the poorly executed work that were not consistent from one to the next. He was also terribly unprofessional, cursing at us throughout the phone call, being sarcastic toward us for being educated in areas other than plumbing, and telling my wife she was reacting emotionally rather than logically. We have only not pursued legal action bc of the cost associated with it. Today we discovered sewage back up in our guest bath tub again. Prior to hiring Jake's Plumbing we did not check Better Business Bureau reviews bc the Google reviews were mostly positive. Had we checked BBB we would have found several reviews that detail interactions with Jake and his very disrespectful team that were nearly identical to our experience. I am not posting this to get anything from Jake's Plumbing, but to hopefully save others from being taken advantage of by this unprofessional and dishonest business. read more

The initial quote was ok, but the guy continued to call his boss to ask how to do the next step and would come back to me with a higher price. Initially was to cost less than $200 but additions ran the bill to over $800. No parts, just 2 hours of labor for one person to reconnect the waste/overflow lever on a freestanding tub. I was over charged over thirty dollars for a job that took 10 minutes to complete. The owner told me he would refund me the money I was over charged by putting a check in the mail. It has been over a week since they have completed the job and I still have not been refunded. I keep getting excuses from the owner as to why I don't have my money yet. Customers beware of this company. You are likely to be overcharged by their untrained employees. And if you are owed a refund you will likely not receive it in a timely manner or not at all. My next step is to take this up with the credit card company. read more

We had a slab leak on a Friday! I had just got home and after changing my clothes, walked into our living room and stepped in water. The water was coming up through the hardwood floor boards! After we shut off the water to our home, my husband called Jake's Plumbing in Denham Springs and spoke with Andrew. Andrew came ON TIME, assessed the damages and we agreed he would come back Monday ( unless you want to pay for weekend labor rates ). Monday morning early, Andrew came with Caleb, and they used a high-tech 'stethoscope' and located the leak in the walls. Before he did any work he gave us 2 estimates. In less than 4 hours, they had found the leak and fixed the problem. I was amazed at how LITTLE the damage was after they had to cut into our walls! Thank God, we only needed one pipe line (loop) fixed. Andrew had been able to repair the leak and the repair total was about 1000.00 LESS than the estimates. I highly recommend Jake's Plumbing. Andrew and Caleb were honest, they wasted no time in finding and repairing what could have been a costly and difficult slab leak. Very professional job and thank you guys for being so courteous. We look forward to having you help us with our future up-grades to our old plumbing. read more

HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL. I set my appointment between 12-3 pm for the technician to show up. At 10:30 I got a text saying they were on the way, so I called and let them know I wasn't at the home needing service and I'd be there around 11:45. I was told they were going to go to another job and would come after. No big deal. I get to the home at noon and wait for hours for them to show up. I called and was told they would call when they were on the way. Nobody ever showed up, nobody texted or called that afternoon to say they weren't coming. I did not receive a call until the next business day. Jake's Plumbing is VERY unprofessional and I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I called because like so many affected by the winter storm I need my tankless hot water heater checked out. I called and was given an time when they would come. NEVER in the course of the conversation was I told of a diagnostic fee minimum of $145.00, plus a driving fee! So when the young men finished at my home and I asked an estimate on repair/replacement of the heater their suggestions. I also was given a $217 bill, for diagnosis and drive time! I did call the office while the remained at my house to speak to an office manager, but he or she was not available. The young lady did apologize for not telling me about the fees, and she removed the driving fee. But I still was on the hook a $145 diagnostic fee. For this reason I would not be using this company.
