I went to see a show " Italiani Veri "  last night. Fabulous cabaret-type show with performer Arianna. She's a true (veri) Italian from Milan who sang, danced and explained Italian culture as part of the entertainment. She has an amazing voice! She could have been a finalist at the San Remo Music Festival - the most famous singing festival in Italy. She fessed up saying she had been an Italian Mouseketeer! The venue has a bar/lounge to enjoy cocktails then a few steps down further is the theater. You need to be mobile since there are a lot of steps. Seating is first come-first serve. I have to admit that seating is quite tight. You are shoulder to shoulder with your neighbors. Get cozy folks. They typically have magic shows here! If you want to see a historic night club, this would be the venue to come to and enjoy a show. Italiani Veri show was a real treat! Highly recommend it!

Arrived at 5:30 and was surprised when I saw a small but decent amount of folks here. When I approached the bar and got my first drink, I understood why folks were there so early....the drinks were a buck! Such a steal and great way to get folks in. The concept of battle of the decades is great too! Each hour is a different decade of music, starting with the 60's. I spent a few hours dancing from 60's-80's music until about 8pm (perfect for an old millennial like me) until the place filled up. Totally great night at Monroe. Cheap drink specials, great music, and I was able to get in bed by 8:30pm. I'll definitely be back again.

Located on Broadway in North Beach, it's always high energy and popping, but I've never had any issues getting in. Also love that there's no cover charge for women, so I can just enjoy the night with my friends here without having to pay the equivalent price of a drink before I've even stepped inside. Even with the club frequently packed, especially the later in the night you go, I find the facilities pretty clean compared to many other similar lounges. It's also conveniently located near late night pizza and crêpe eateries that are still open after Monroe closes for the win, which makes it an all-around no brainer to choose going here versus other venues.

From the moment we stepped in, the Irish-accented bartender welcomed us like family. Not the good kind--more like the redheaded stepchildren who show up unannounced but are getting fed anyway. She didn't just serve drinks--she gathered us. There's a real sense that if things got cold outside, she'd tuck the whole bar into her metaphorical bosom, hand out shots of Fernet and tell us we're doing just fine in life (even if we clearly are not). And then there's the other bartender, who looks a lot like Gavin Newsom. So slick, composed and somehow making even a simple pour feel like a well-managed state operation. If he started giving policy updates between rounds, I wouldn't have even questioned it. Drinks were strong, vibes were stronger and by the end of the night we felt sure we'd been there our whole lives. Five stars for the Guinness, six stars for the bartenders and seven stars for the full emotional dependency formed somewhere between rounds two and three.

I had visited once last year for St. Patrick's day and had a lovely time. This time, I left before I even ordered a drink. This bar offers live music which drew an insanely large crowd. They definitely let far too many people into the building. We were tightly packed in there like a bunch of sardines. We finally pushed our way to the bar (which we thought was a tad emptier) in the back. Unfortunately we were wrong. We waited at the bar for about 10 minutes waiting for the bartender to get to us. We believed the bartender was extremely drunk. He was slurring his words and dropping things on the underbar. He completely ignored us (or was too drunk to even realize we were there). Eventually we got fed up and just left. As we were on our way out, the bartender literally waved goodbye to us! Although I would give them bonus points for having The Rookie playing on the TVs, this was all around a bizarre experience and I am not as inclined to revisit.

(1 star) literally no stars…read more... I paid $100 per ticket (two tickets) to experience what was honestly the worst New Year's celebration I've ever been to at Temple Nightclub. This night was supposed to be both my birthday and New Year's Eve, and nothing about this experience justified the price or the hype. There was no NYE countdown at all, which is unbelievable for a New Year's event. No moment, no energy, no collective celebration -- it honestly felt like just another dead night at a club. The vibe was extremely low. People looked sad, bored, or irritated, not excited to ring in a new year. Most people weren't even dressed like it was NYE, which says a lot about how poorly this event was curated. I like Ogeesy, but his performance was very underwhelming. He barely performed, did not engage the crowd, and brought no energy. It felt rushed and disconnected, not like a headlining New Year's set at all. To make things worse, everything was spilled everywhere, and despite having Tier 2 tickets, we were never given wristbands to access the upper level we paid for. Nothing about this night felt celebratory, special, or high-vibe -- especially for entering a new year or celebrating a birthday. I truly regret spending this money and wish I could get a refund so I can redo my birthday, because this was easily the most disappointing NYE experience I've ever had. I expected far more from Temple, especially at this price point.
