Went to the dealership (the one next town over) for a simple oil change. Within an hour I get text with a video from the dealership recommending $7000 worth of work. I of course declined and told them to just finish the oil change but when I picked up the car, you bet I drove straight to Montclair Motorwerks from there. Ken and his team took a look at the vehicle and while some of the repairs recommended by the dealership were legitimate, others weren't really needed. The honesty was refreshing. Turned out the vehicle did need some extensive work (thanks Dad). The car was ready within a few days and the price (which was still in the four figures to reflect the scope of the work done) was a fraction of what the dealership would have charged. Additionally I was very careless in leaving something extremely valuable in the vehicle. One of the technicians found it and turned it over to Frankie for safe keeping. Anybody with questionable morals could have taken it and I wouldn't have known. When I picked up the car, it was there for me and while I was of course embarrassed, I was grateful. I'm under no impression that BMWs are cheap vehicles to own and maintain. They aren't. But the high degree of trust I gained from my first encounter with Ken, Frankie an their team made Montclair Motorwerks my go-to since then.

This shop's negligence put my life in danger…read more I had my car towed to Park Street Automotive with clear symptoms of a critical suspension failure: a violent lurch to the left when braking, a loud rumbling, and a worsening steering wobble. They ignored these critical safety symptoms and diagnosed only a noisy exhaust. When I questioned this, they were dismissive and, after the repair, told me to "take it on the freeway for a spin and see what happens." I took it to another shop for a second opinion instead. They immediately found the real problem: the front control arm had failed and my wheel was literally about to fall off. The issue had nothing to do with the exhaust. A mechanic who fails to perform a basic safety inspection and tells you to "see what happens" with a failing front end is not someone who should ever be trusted with your vehicle or your safety.

I went to this…read moreauto service shop to get an inspection for my vehicle and when I went the owner told me that it would take around two hours for a simple inspection and that it would be $125 plus $25 just to put the plate on. Once I said that two hours was too long he said that he would be able to do it in an hour so I went across the street to have a quick bite as I'm sitting across the street. I see him take my car and drive away, and he did not return for about half and hour. when I called him to see what he was doing with my car, he told me to calm down and relax on the phone and then hung up. once he returned, I went back across the street and asked him what was going on. He then proceeded to tell me that something was wrong with my wheels, and that my car felt shaky. I assured him that nothing was wrong and then he told me that his printer wasn't working and that he's unable to print out the inspection and to come tomorrow. he wasn't the nicest to begin with, but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and just come back tomorrow. An hour later I look at my phone and I see a text message from the manager Mo Mashadeh telling me " I'm not doing your inspection tomorrow you're a fuc*king as*hole" I took my car somewhere else and not only did they finish my inspection within an hour they also charged me less and told me that there was nothing wrong with my car. Please be careful and watch out for businesses Like Mos who try and scam people out of their money and come up with fake mechanical issues in the car just to ger money out of you.
