It was a surprisingly cold and rainy Florida day. I wanted a hot lunch and the smells emanating from Ford's garage lured me in. They have a large menu - mostly burgers and other classic American style meals. The thing that really stands out here is this is truly modeled after a garage. They do a great job with the branding and the decor. Everything from the sinks in the bathroom to the napkin rings are car/garage style. The server walks you through the menu, and mine was very friendly. I can't remember exactly what my burger was called, but basically it was a bacon cheeseburger. It really hit the spot on that cool day. I devoured all but one bite of an enormous burger and a heap of fries. You could certainly split one of these burgers. I was a little sad that I chose to eat the whole thing, as the desserts really good look delicious on the menu. If The outlets are busy, I would recommend trying to get in before noon. That's what I did and I was able to be seated immediately- however just 10 minutes later there was a long wait. read more

I've been wanting to visit a Ford's Garage for sometime and unfortunately my party of four had a terrible experience. The wait time and seating was fine but after we were seated we sat for a long period of time...long enough to look over the several menus including brew menu, go to the bathroom, watch the sports on the tv, help the other customers nearby and etc. Yes, we waited for a while. The server, Abigail, was kind and appeared busy with her four tables. But we didn't get refills, not enough silverware for our party (upon request), no Mayo (upon request), no lemon (upon request), and never returned after the food was delivered. At first I didn't think the 2nd beer ordered would arrive (alcohol usually never takes too long $$). All of this is tolerable if the food is good...right? What an experience. The burgers should've and could've been great but they were undercooked. I tried to eat the edge and just deal with it until I realized that is ridiculous. We wanted to get our food cooked right but the server didn't return until one of us started waiving. She immediately came over and apologized and wanted to get her manager. He did help but didn't care for details. Literally, as I was speaking he would ask "Do you want me to take it off or cook you another?" He kept repeating as we were describing the burgers were still cold in the center..."Do you want me to take it off or make you another?"...The egg is raw and...one person suggested maybe putting it in the microwave..."Do you want me to take it off or do you want another?" Seriously! Well taking it off seemed like the best option considering the dining experience as a whole up till that point. The manager took off two burger meals. My daughter left the restaurant and barely made it to the nearest gas station before she had to vomit. We actually took half her burger with us, not to eat later but to take to the hospital with her if needed. Two others have stomach aches, and the one person that had beer is fine. Third time was not the charm... After the third chance at delivery from Fords Garage Estero I'm going to have to give up on there kitchen. The only "special" instructions I requested was to put the toppings of the Estate Burger on the side, just so the veggies don't mush and everything stays fresh. I only live minutes from this location and yet the burger came sloppily topped with everything and it was just a luke warm mush.. took one bite and just had to throw it away. Also, the aoili it comes with, which really makes the burger was just left out of the order completely? Not sure why from start to finish this restaurant can't take pride in their work. For a casual burger joint, this place lives up to expectations. The decorations are a little gimmicky but in a cute way. The bathroom is especially hilarious with the huge tires as sinks and gas nozzles as the faucet. We were seated right away and offered their happy hour deals, which were 4 dollar margaritas, sangria, and 1 dollar off craft beers. I wasn't in a drinking mood but this sounded like a good deal and will keep it in mind for next time. In terms of their menu, I went straight to the burgers and didn't even look at the other sections. You can't really get a salad at a burger place.. well you can, but why would you?! Their burger list is pretty extensive and you can also make your own. They also have options of replacing the beef with portobello mushroom, chicken breast or turkey burger, ahi tuna steak, or bison burger. I decided to go with the Estate Burger, which is topped with gouda cheese, red onion marmalade, arugula, tomato, fried onion straws, and white truffle bacon aioli. Can't get much better than that in a burger. I also subbed onion rings for the fries for an extra $1.99. I got my burger medium rare because I like them still mooing, and my mom got the same one but extra well done (the one thing we differ in when it comes to food!) I was impressed that the kitchen got the order right and both our burgers were done to our liking. The burger was delicious and I had no complaints. The onion rings were good but for 2 extra bucks, 3 onion rings is a little annoying. The smoky ranch sauce was not all that smoky and just tasted like normal ranch. I also tried the french fries and thought they were under-seasoned and nothing special. Service was good and our waitress was very friendly. Prices were not bad, but would have liked to seen an extra onion ring or two given the 2 dollar up-charge. I would come back for sure! read more

Where to start -- first off, let me say, I'm a Ford's Garage fan. I lived in downtown Fort Myers when the chain opened its first store. The restaurant was rockin', service good (for SWFL standards), and the burgers excellent. The Estero store, however, was... lacking a bit in every category. I understand it's snowbird season. So as we got there for lunch on a Sunday, suddenly about 20 - 30 people started to coalesce at the entrance. (I'm not kidding.) The host staff sat everyone quickly. We found a spot at the bar. The ambiance, though, was lacking (especially compared to the downtown location). The service was OK, but def not "friendly" or "personable;" in fact, it sounded like the bartender had never bartended before. And she didn't even give her name. That absolutely drives me nuts about service staff. Tell me your damn name! Any who -- now to the meat of the issue. He had the "Estate" burger and me -- the "low-carburetor." Meh. The burgers were cooked to temperature but were bland! ...Like no favor! Definitely not the Ford's Garage burger I remember, and he was craving. Even the fries were only OK...and the serving stingy. What you can still rely on in Estero is the fantastic craft beer selection. If anything drink more beer, create your own ambience and add lots of salt to your meat. read more

This is our second time visiting this location, and it will be the last. Very disappointed. Wednesday night in the off season and we had a 30min wait for a table. We were seated and didn't get drinks for 10 mins. The appetizer we ordered, fried pickles were luke warm when they arrived - the serving was pitiful for the price (15 more minutes) and arrived with no table service. We had to get up and find staff to receive silverware and a napkin. The burgers and fries weren't hot (again, luke warm) and we didn't see the waiter again until he dropped the check. One burger was not cooked to order (not even close). Do not recommend this location. I'm not sure if the restaurant is short staffed or what the problem is, but the whole experience was sub-par. read more

It's like a greasy mechanic decorated the place... very cool! Staff are dressed up like mechanics, you get a rag as a napkin and a occasional vintage car horn goes off. Love the idea of this place, and I like a good burger, but came here on a Monday night - maybe that was the problem? Whatever the reason it was horrible. I don't blame them for the beer with a fly (or the next one that also had a fly), but service was slow, orders were wrong (fries instead of cole slaw), there was cooked plastic on my daughter's cheeseburger (assume it was from the wrapper), my burger that I ordered because it had a fried egg (I think fried egg makes everything better) came without the egg, but I couldn't tell the waitress in time because she was MIA. The chicken sandwich was tasty, but was lukewarm (at best). When we asked for the manager - Amy came out and was the most dismissive manager I have ever met (though I rarely meet them because I hate to make a scene). She seemed to care less, didn't make eye contact - said so they forgot the egg, and we said what about the plastic and she said well must have been from the plastic package from the rolls. Said she'd comp the burger (I had only eaten 1 bite and couldn't order another by the time the waitress came back because I had to catch a plane), but then she went missing so our waitress had to hunt her down. The waitress, Elana, was very nice though seemed overly busy. Such a let down for such a great premise. Maybe they have their A game on in the winter on the weekends. Yesterday my family and I visited this restaurant for the first time because we don't have any in the area we live in. I went in knowing that it was a busy Saturday during lunch time. I asked for outside dining and was told it would be a 30 min wait; they texted me rather quickly, in maybe 15 min, that our table was ready. I was rather surprised at how quickly were sat down with how busy it was, but after we sat down it took about 35 min before even our drink order was taken (but by that time, we knew what we wanted to eat). Jerome was the one asking us if anyone had seen us yet, and we said no, so he took care of us. He was very friendly and apologetic about the slow wait / service. He made sure we were well taken care of and got our order correct. He was the only that seemed to care and even acknowledge us as he was the only one to talk to us after we sat down. Many other waiters and waitresses passed by, it even looked like a manager walked by but said said nothing nor looked at us. We had sat down before two or three other tables but somehow they got helped and served before us. A bit frustrating on that end. The food was delicious (I had a very juicy mushroom burger, family had a chocolate milkshake, meatloaf, and potato soup - all delicious and plenty of food to eat) and the decor was very cool. It was my first time in the place. The waiting time was extremely ridiculous. Once we requested in or out the took us to our table. Thank good I order the baches which by the way. The best nachos I ever had. My son, nephews, sister and mom like them too. We also place the order for the main course and it took them 30 min to bring 1 kids cheeseburgers, I grilled cheese, 2 American burger-and 1 specialty burger . Overall the burgers were ok, our waiter was not paying g attention to the drink situation. We were done with our phone when he came back to ask how we were doing. Our house was trashed by hurricane Ian & my husband & I and our 2 dogs have been bouncing around in hotels till today when we began a 6 month rental apartment right across the street from Fords in Estero. As 2 vegetarians, it wouldn't be our first choice for a meal, but it is walkable, we were exhausted, hungry and thirsty so we went. Sides of broccoli & string beans were cooked perfectly, not overdone, and the veggie burger was delightfu, creative and tasty! the pretzel was unique and deliciou, the cocktail and beers were so delicious and our server, Brianna, was attentive & patient. The bar boss guy, Andrew, was adorable and bought me a wonderful thirst-quenching drink. Just walked in and out due to employees that can't think through the social distancing issue. The outdoor patio had people spaced out with 15 feet between two parties sitting down. We ate here tonight and had a good experience! I really enjoyed the authenticity of the restaurant, with the white classic Ford automobile at the front entrance, the "car table" in the rear patio, the bathroom sinks consisting of tires and pipes, and the front entry sign that hoisted an engine. Another really nice detail was the imprint on the hamburger bun that says "Ford's Garage." Any car enthusiast will appreciate the detail here! The food was actually quite good and the beer selection was decent, as they had 26 beers on tap. Our server was Samantha and she was very friendly and kind. Hiked 2 miles to get to this place and it let me and my group down harder than Macklemore. To start, their self proclaimed 'built Ford tough' burgers were tough enough to induce food poisoning in all who ate them, literally. The other food was sub-par but portioned less than adequately. A comrade who joined me was rejected a frozen mixed drink after the entire staff studied his ID for 5 minutes, despite him being 21. Pieces of paper were found in drinks. The staff seemed like they didn't want to be there - and they weren't a lot of the time. The hostess was nowhere to be found for a few minutes when we got there. Their drink menu sucks for a place that prides themselves over their craft beer - and half of the drinks on their draft menu weren't even on draft. Confusing menus, passive aggressive waitstaff, and overall a poor time. Please go spend your money elsewhere. read more

Great food and fun design. This is definitely a place to bring your out of town guest as well as stop off at for a meal yourself. Usually the service is good but occasionally, you get one who's not on top of it. The last time, our server was bar tending and trying to serve tables. Our service was mediocre.
