On September 18th, my husband and I went to Ford's Bar in Idaho Falls with some family while we were in town visiting for a wedding. Everyone paid for their own drinks except my husband's brother and his brother's girlfriend. My husband opened a tab only for the drinks he personally ordered for them and himself. When we later checked our bank statement, before we were heading back home we noticed we were charged significantly more than expected. $435 to be exact. After calling the bar, they emailed us a receipt, which showed several drinks we did not order or recognize, along with a $15 tip that we did not authorize. (We had been tipping with cash) & after trying to figure out what the heck happened we realized were also never given a receipt to review or sign that night. We asked for that the day we called and were told we couldn't get it because the owner had already picked all that up. So she sent an itemized receipt instead. We did try to resolve this through our bank, but the dispute came back as "inconclusive" since the receipt provided just shows what was entered into the system, not what was actually authorized. We've also tried contacting the owner as directed, numerous times over the last 4 months but communication has been very limited, which has made it difficult to know how to proceed. He responded pretty quick to our first email, and said he'd look into it. Then silence. We emailed a few times after that & I've called a few times. One thing that added to the confusion is that we were told if a tab isn't closed, the bar's policy is to add a 25% gratuity -- or 20% can't remember what she had said which would have been much more than the tip that was added. That makes it unclear whether the tab was closed or handled correctly. I got there first with 4 other ladies in the wedding party. My husband showed up later with his brother. And he ordered all 5 of us a birthday cake shot- (not realizing it was ladies night & if I'd ordered we could have gotten free ones haha) & then himself an AMF & his brother a jack & coke. He closed that tab and signed a receipt for $64. Then his brothers girlfriend showed up after she got off work around the time the second tab was opened- he got the patron for the 3 of them. And 2 beers between the shots. So with all that they have on both tabs it would have been $485 worth of alcohol. Second tab only being for 3 people and the one he didn't receive a receipt for- which the owner just confirmed via email. No receipt was signed. But per the itemized receipt that tab was closed at 1:30am BEFORE the bar closed and BEFORE we left. Its been a nightmare and I still haven't been able to get my money back. read more

This was a fun dance bar! Good for dancing and enjoying a fun night but not good for talking because it's loud. $10 minimum at the bar and they have a weird system for your tab when paying by card. Overall was fun and a cool place. Very crowded on a Friday night. read more

What a little surprise! We hit up Ford's Bar after grabbing dinner with family friends. Super chill vibe, unpretentious and everyone was friendly. Our bartender, Mara (sp?), was a delight. She was attentive and gave us recommendations of things to do and places to visit on our way up to Yellowstone Park. Called up our family friends after we left the bar and told them to patronize this great place. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area. The only downside was that karaoke isn't every night. Bummer. read more

Jeep Guy At Ford's How can anyone give a 1 star? This place is my kind of bar, From my hotel it wasn't very far, I didn't need the rental car. When I walked in I was blown away, Smoking indoors? I will still stay, Pool in the back I did not play, If you have a pet please neuter or spay. The drinks were cheap, I'm sure I looked like a creep, He's not passed out, only asleep, I don't drive a Ford, I drive a Jeep. It was a Saturday night, No one tried to fight, Inside was dark not bright, Will I return? You're damn right. Bartender was really nice but the drinks are way overpriced. Ordered 2 Hornito shots & 2 Modelos & are total was 25$ w/ tip was almost 30$!!

Sadly Ford's Bar is nothing more than a salty dive bar that doesn't have quite enough "charm" to be interesting. From the outside this place looks like its going to be classic, but once I walked in I was instantly disappointed by the fact that the very long bar doesn't have any TVs for sports viewing. The local clientele were all pretty rough (not the place for friendly banter if you are a solo business traveler like myself) and the troll behind the bar didn't crack a smile once! You can smoke inside, which was gross for me, but obviously cool if you are a smoker who doesn't want to freeze outside in Idaho Falls. Excellent Karaoke bar. The list fills up fast so make it early. Has pool tables. Intermittent dance music sparks a crowd. Locals start the night here then head down the street for other entertainment. Other bars recommend here as thats where they come after they close. read more

A fun place to go if you want to see IF nightlife? I don't know, but we were thirsty and my wife wanted to sing karaoke, so we went inside. Friendly people, good music and good prices on beer and other drinks! Smoker friendly, so we felt at home! read more

It always seems like a good idea to go there...until we actually get there. I don't always make the best decisions after I've been drinking. This place is filthy, and reeks of urine and stale cigarettes. I'm afraid of catching something just by walking past the front door. Service is spotty, patrons are questionable. Seriously, would it kill someone to clean the mirror on that beautiful old back bar? Or maybe wipe some tobacco stains off of the lovely wood paneled walls? A classic, in the hole-in-the wall dive bars persona, with none of the charms. The bartenders are almost as unwelcoming as the patrons that seem to frequent this place. It's the place you end up too drunk to care. It's a bit sad, coz the building has some history, just like all of these holes downtown. read more

Looks like a fun little place from the outside! Once you walk in though... It is one of the dirtiest, nastiest places I have been. Frankly I'm not sure how they are still open. Draft beer is priced well but it kind of had to be being that the glasses don't taste clean and your first thought is; what STD am I going to catch from this glass. If you must go, I recommend sticking to a bottle. In addition there is so much dust and filth everywhere that you can't help but watch thinking that some areas are just going to get up and run away because they are so big. Highly not recommended. This place is awesome !!!!! Fords is the oldest business in Idaho falls. Established in 1906. This is a come as you are bar with the best drinks at the best price anywhere. They have a quality karaoke system with a huge selection of music. Free shuffleboard, pool tables 25 cents. opens at 9 am, bloody marys $3.00 10 am-noon. 2 for 1 happy hour 5-7.
