After…read moreconfirming with an employee named Jj the date and time of our visit, we had reached out almost 2 hours prior to inform them we were running behind our scheduled meeting time. Upon arriving and hearing no reply via Zola, we proceeded to knock on the main house door as well as the chapel, and despite messaging again to try and confirm the exact meeting location we ended up waiting over an hour to hear nothing. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt as there wasn't clear communication of where we would meet, etc. While waiting we did notice the main house to be in need of a thorough cleaning. Despite the photos posted on the app, the actual building looked rather run down with rusty nails on the walkway and porch step, poking out of the bannister. After waiting almost an hour we ended up sending a goodbye message on Zola and let them know we were no longer interested in working with them. Anyone considering working with this venue for an event should remain cautious as they don't seem to have a good reputation with followthrough. If communication was improved and the buildings were better maintained it likely could have been a beautiful spot.

The old church is absolutely beautiful and had clearly been renovated and freshly painted. The detached former rectory next door held the guests for the cocktail hour and again, with the exception of the modern kitchen, this place had been renovated without losing its historic charm. The wedding and the reception were held in the old church space and the transformation from wedding venue to formal dining space that took place while everyone was next door for the cocktail hour was amazing. The best part of the venue? The lighting at the reception. I know this is a strange thing to highlight but I'm an amateur photographer so I notice these things. I'm not bragging when I say that I took some of the best pictures of my life and it was in no small part due to the fabulous lighting. It was soft and ethereal and super flattering on everyone. Anyway, the wedding was catered by a local restaurant bc I heard this venue didn't have a food option? I'm not sure if this is bc this is a new event business for the owners or if they're not going to offer catering ever so you might check on this. Bottom line, this was an amazing venue and I highly recommend it.

Jason provided strolling magic as the graduates waited in line for dinner. He had them mesmerized! Which isn't always easy with 18 year olds! While many companies have been more than understanding with clients and providing refunds at some agreed percentage, including wedding venues, it was unfortunate one of my girlfriends did not have experience that with private chef, Maureen. Instead of offering sympathy, Maureen instead declared the deposits were non-refundable (this was no where stated in the contracted) and since the notice was given less than 30 days, she was not obligated to refund at any measure (another policy that was no where stated in the contract or her website). While my friend continued to try and work with her, Maureen had went on to call her, "entitled", "close-minded" and "immature." I don't think it's immature to want to keep a group of people, including Maureen, safe from the virus. Telling us our only option is to reschedule within a 90 mile radius when we have no idea when this pandemic will end is not helpful. I've been in the hospitality industry for year and I've had a handful of clients actually yell in my face. In no situation would i EVER respond in such a such a way. I was speechless and incredibly disappointed. Many of us are faced in financial hardships but what I've always found to be true is you need to give in order to get. Would not recommend by any means.

However, I had time stamped photos of me waiting with my bridesmaids from later (5:05-5:10 pm) as evidence that in fact, no, they were not there by 5:01 pm as they falsely claimed. Moreover, management refused any means of reconciliatory compensation for the lower volume vehicle transport and the tardiness to the ceremony.
