Love this vet!! I moved from out of state earlier this year and was so happy to find a vet near me that works with rabbits. I have been in for many appointments, tooth trims, and urgent care for my rabbit. The doctor has worked with me to develop a plan to treat my pets chronic dental disease. The costs here are significantly lower than my vet costs in Wisconsin. I love that the clinic only treats small animals and exotics.

Thank goodness Atlanta GA has an AVIAN VET hospital, AVIAN doctors for all types birds. at For Pets Sake is my Sebastian Avian vet since he was 8 weeks old now 18 years old cockatiel. For pets sake now also has doctors for exotic animals. Dr Mimi Shepard AVIAN VET opened for pet sake.

Dr. Holly Burchfield is a delightful Veterinarian that handled my 23-year-old grumpy (at times) Macaw with tender care. She is very knowledgeable, kind and was able to answer all my questions. If you love your exotic pets as much as I do... For Pet's Sake they need to come here! (¬‿¬)

It's actually disturbing that I saw a similar review. My rabbit died after Dr.Hill saw him. He was in perfectly good health and I brought him in just to get nails trimmed and to clean some poop on his bottom. The doctor told me he was fine. Two days later- he started having lethargy and GI issues. I frantically called the office, and the receptionist said the doctors were at lunch. Ok? I was honestly wondering if they had dropped him or something. She recommended an anti gas med ( which I gave after research) and told me there's no reason to bring him in if he starts pooping and feels better. no vet return call. He did get better only to have issues again two days later, and I kept calling to demand to speak to a vet- the vets went home for the day is what the lady at the front told me, and to call 9am the next morning to see if I can find an appointment, but no guarantee they could see him. Didn't recommended to take him to an ER. I found out about the ER after calling St.Francis. My rabbit was having MOTILITY issues- pretty big deal for him man and no one listened. He passed away and I had to cremate him on my birthday. I left the doctor a message (since I literally couldn't get a proper call back) of his passing and asking her to educate her staff on proper recommendations. Also to avoid saying things like "oh wow the clinic is so busy" "oh we're so very busy" I'm a nurse in a hospital- I know what busy is, I understand But it's a life we're talking about. Anyway- I didn't even get a call back about the death of my rabbit I got a card in the mail though so I mean I guess they read my message ? It's their way of acknowledging it? I don't know how to get them to listen, or who else to complain to especially if they're not actually caring about our animals.

Roscoe, after the first instance of broken bone at vet clinic during routine annual exam.

I was a customer of this clinic for over 25 years, then my rabbit, Roscoe, suffered 2 instances of broken bones at this clinic, first one on 7/31/2017 at a well-rabbit annual exam, and a compound fracture on or about 2/5/18. I get that unfortunate things can happen to patients despite well intended efforts to care for a pet, but in trying (and failing) to have a civil conversation with Dr. Jason Hutcheson about these bone breaks, which led to over $4000 to treat the compound fracture of his leg at a better equipped facility, I've come to believe that this is an environment where care may be compromised due to the arrogance and inflexible views of this vet. Dr. H is unwilling to consider that a rabbit with two instances of his bones being broken ONLY AT HIS CLINIC, 6 months apart, has any suggestion of mishandling on the part of the clinic. He says repeatedly in my conversations with him that he didn't throw the rabbit against the wall. What? There can't be anything between perfect care and negligent murder? He is resistant to the idea that a 9 year old, 3 pound rabbit will have more brittle bones than a younger rabbit, therefore something more subtle than throwing a geriatric rabbit against a wall can still be attributable to these broken bones on the part of the vet or staff. In an earlier conversation, he laughed to my face at my concern that he wasn't open to considering that a rabbit Roscoe's age was more frail. Today, he cut me off and said if I think these bone breaks were anything to do with the care my rabbit received there I should just report him to the Veterinary Board and sue him. Again, only extreme views? Oh, the story they told me about the second break: they put him in an exam room on the floor for exercise, someone opened the door, he was behind the door and screamed, then darted across the room and over a floor vent. Everybody in the clinic heard the scream, they said. I'm feeling guilty right now because, in spite of all this and a few other concerns that I didn't take seriously enough, I let my past loyalty to this vet compromise the due diligence that I owed to my Roscoe, and he suffered, and then died. Dr. Hutcheson (who hung up on me today), was not willing to consider his role in this and was not willing to assure me of anything different to be done to ensure proper handling going forward. Dr. Hutcheson may have expertise in rabbit medicine, but I no longer trust him to care for my pets. It was never in my mindset to sue...whether or not he took any financial responsibility for this, but after today, with his arrogance and anger at the idea of having any level of accountability, his repeated excuse that he didn't throw the rabbit against wall, AND his unwillingness to even hear me out, maybe litigation is what it will take to get his attention. PS: Dr. Burchfield there is great! It's not 1 star on account of Dr. B and prior care of so many of my bunnies.

I love this Vet!! He knows his exotic animals from turtles to parrots. He takes care of my Cockatoo, Clara. My 12 year old son loves to go with me because we love to see what other animals are rolling in. One time a young lady opened her carrier and a sweet rat peeked it's little nose out. It was like Ron and his pet Scabber's from Harry Potter. Another time we saw an owl that had broken his wing (omg is this Harry's Hedwig?!!). For Pets Sake does NOT take cats or dogs. They are on time and professional. The Vet is very handsome and down to earth. He is a little scared of male cockatoos because one tried to gouge his eye out in the past. The Vet also makes these very nice soy wax candles for only $5. I had to use the clinic urgently when my bird cracked his beak and the other vet was also excellent. The bill to get my cockatoos foot examined (she was limping) and get her yearly visit done with wings clipped was only $80 I am heading over today to get my Clara some healthy pellets at a better price and selection than petco or pet supermarket.

Since it's due to Covid I wasn't allowed to get inside the clinic to be with my hammy but that did not stop me to give an excellent rating to Dr Holly Burchfield for that compassionate conversation we had re my sweet hammy...tho deeply saddened of my pet's diagnosis Dr Burchfield surely was so profesional to handle the situation with a superb personal care towards one's owner...KUDOS to Pet's Sake for having an awesomely professional vet Dr Holly Burchfield ... thank you for your professionalism in dealing with this situation... THANK YOU SO MUCH Maddie Evora & Marita Evora

Great customer service and care. It's amazing to have a non-dog/cat vet hospital for other animals nearby Atlanta.

Provided an unbelievable level of care for Trouble, our 30+ year old Amazon parrot. Hands-down the best aviary vet in Atlanta.

At Simmons veterinary clinic we got amazing treatment from the time we stepped in with front desk administrator, to nurse and Dr. Simmons himself. Really loved the intimate approach and made our visit smooth sailing and most importantly my pup went through with the visit without being stressed out and left the clinic a very happy dog, that is priceless! We live out of state but will be driving to Simmons clinic for routine check ups and vaccinations because they were just that great ! .

My super high-energy Frenchton, Miles, had an injury over the holiday weekend, which I thought was his back leg. I made an online appointment request for the next available weekday, which was approved first thing in the morning. The online appointment system is so easy and very efficient. The facility is adorable, spotlessly clean, and the staff is amazing. Sharif is an absolute angel, treating Miles like his own pet, and I really want to be his new best friend, Lol! Dr Simmons is fantastic and took so much time with Miles, explaining the injury and the required treatment. I feel confident he will be feeling back to himself soon once we get thru this rest period to heal what turned out to be a herniated disc in his lumbar spine. I have happily found my baby's new vet and feel very confident in the care my sweet boy received today! I was sent an email with the notes about the visit which was such a nice touch. I have never received anything like that with any other vet office. I am very thankful I was referred to Dr Simmons!

From Shu Shu helping us get in quickly, to Dr. Beach and Ms. Tyra making us feel completely supported during our first visit, we felt like Oliver mattered to them. The moment that truly changed everything was Dr. Irish's follow‑up call. If she hadn't checked in, and if she hadn't urged us to go straight to the ER, we would not have known how serious Oliver's condition was. His blood glucose was 590, he was severely dehydrated, and he ended up spending two nights in the ICU. That phone call quite literally saved his life. Oliver is home now and getting the treatment he needs, and we are overwhelmed with gratitude. This clinic listened, cared, and acted.
