Inside the building you order at the counter for any of the restaurants advertised on the exterior of the building which includes this one. In contrast to other reviews, yes, there are drinks on site available. It's just a separate order. Beers, sodas, water, etc., all available. The burger? We both got the Slowpoke smashee. Double burger with cheese and the slightly perfectly crunchy edges of beef, pickles that zing, a sauce that just makes it all MELT in your mouth, and the fries which are literally the PERFECT crisp! On man! They are seasoned well, and fried perfectly. The burger was a bit greasy as expected and the perfect blend of seasoned beef, toasted brioche bun, sautéed onions that are delicious and perfectly sautéed, and that melted real cheese and sauce. It was so good my boyfriend ate his and ordered another one of course he had a stomach ache after, but yes, he devoured two doubles. It was that tasty. My pictures do it absolutely no justice because we dove in before I took them so they look a mess. It came looking much better than these photos of burgers we had already tore into from the excitement from reading the reviews. Service was great at the counter. Friendly. I finally tried For Crying Out Loud Grill, located at 363 Church St. N. in Concord, at The Nook. It's a permanent food-truck-style kitchen with a casual atmosphere and plenty of seating nearby. It was too hot to sit outside so we got it to go. We ordered online so all I had to do as pick it up. I ordered the single smash burger on a buttery brioche bun ($7.00), and it was a solid burger--simple, flavorful, and satisfying. The fries were definitely a highlight! They were crispy, well-seasoned, and very good. Other burgers were 2 times the single smash burger. Located inside/outside the old Cabarrus Creamery, this food truck has you ordering from inside the tap room and then delivering to you once the food is cooked. Awkward for the uninitiated, but no problem going forward. Food was excellent. Ordered a Slow Poke Smashy double smashburger with fries. Nice crusty crisp on the burger, tangy pickles and sauce, and gooey cheese. A winner in my book. Mmmmm. On our visit their order site was not up to date and so all the chicken offerings were not available. Weird so I brought it to their attention and they quickly corrected it although too late for us. I ordered the BBQ Chopped Cheeze Friez which comes with "two locally sourced beef patties with paper-thin onions smashed into one, thick-cut applewood smoked bacon smashed into the other, both topped with melty smoked gouda, chopped up, and finished with their sweet-and-tangy BBQ glaze blended with Percent Peak Lager". The setup is very much a "if you know, you know" kind of place. When I first walked in, it wasn't immediately obvious where to go to order or pick up food, but once you figure it out, you're good. They're well known for burgers, spicy chicken, and loaded fries. Personally, I already have strong favorites elsewhere for burgers and hot chicken (hello SureFire and PoppyCox), so instead of setting myself up for comparison disappointment, I went with the loaded fries and I'm glad I did. Think McDonald's-style thin fries but extra crunchy, almost like they're double-fried, piled high with a mountain of artery-clogging deliciousness.. messy in the best sort of way. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth dropping in, just be prepared that the ordering/pickup flow isn't the most obvious when you walk through the door. Was excited to try this food truck as the reviews have been great. We were in the brewery and they take your order at the register and they bring you your food which is great so you don't have to hang around outside by the truck. We split the slow poke smashee ( they even cut it in half for us) and got the loud sauce on the side but when I tried it I loved. it and used it for the burger and for dipping my fries in. It was a big burger and a half of one was plenty for me. The fries have kind of a spicy seasoning on it which was so flavorful I couldn't get enough of them.
