What I mean by that is this is not the Red Door Spa of the late 80s. However, the work that is done here is incredibly well done. They clearly make every attempt at ambience with spa music and keeping things mostly quiet or hushed, although I'm not going to deny that the rooms are "curtained" rooms (areas sectioned off by curtains). Nonetheless, there's perfect privacy within those. Can you hear other things happening around? Yes you can. But I have to tell you that that did not bother me one bit. If you're looking for some exclusive situation, they do apparently have private rooms. Whether or not they are soundproof, I cannot attest to. However, the work that was done while I was on that table was terrific! The woman who worked with me was Yo Yo and she was utterly fantastic. From the time that I arrived until I walked out the door--which Yo Yo opened and held open for me out of courtesy-- I was pampered. I was escorted to the back, given a robe/drape, given a few moments alone to undress from waist up as I was partaking in the 60 minute head spa. Yo-yo checked with me before coming back into the space and then assisted me (not that I really needed it) with getting on the table so that I was positioned correctly. She was gentle. She was smiling. She was quiet mostly, but did stop to ask questions (water temp, pressure of massage, etc.). She began her work, which started with a dry run through of the hair with various tools. If you've seen the videos on social media that keep popping up for head spa you have the general idea of what I mean when I say the tools that they use. I was there on that table for an hour. I had a mini facial. My head was massaged multiple times both dry and shampooed (twice). I had my neck massaged, my upper chest, my upper back and then all the way down my arms to my hands. It was wonderful. I have no complaints whatsoever. The products that were used were very light in their scent, but pleasant nonetheless and they were not greasy. The steam and whatever conditioner that is on my hair has made my hair so shiny and soft. I have processed hair. My hair has not been this soft since prior to bleaching/coloring. I cannot say enough good things about this experience. I expected sort of what I saw on the social media postings by various other "spas" and that's exactly what I got and more. Yo-yo met me out at the table where there was the hair dryer (and a snack and bottle of water) and blew out my hair a little bit. Was it styled? No. That's not what she's there to do. I walked out with dry hair. I don't have a problem with that. I kept a hat in the car and a clip to put it in an updo if it didn't look manageable. It looked fine. I was 100% satisfied. I hope that if you're reading this review, you have the same type of experience. I thought it was worth every penny and I will be going back again.

I didn't mind that--I figured, okay, her time is her time and my time is mine. I understand completely that running a business comes with calls, but answering them in the middle of a service--with wet hair and gloves on--broke the experience. But the loud conversations continued in the same space where people were actively receiving massages. It felt disruptive. The staff assisting that client could have easily stepped aside to continue talking elsewhere. At that point, I was already struggling to relax. Then it happened again--another phone call. Gloves off, more time lost. I honestly thought she would make up for the interruption, but once the timer ended, she simply said she was done. I left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. What was meant to be a relaxing, thoughtful gift turned into an experience that felt rushed and unprofessional.

No one ever even asked me if I wanted deep tissue or a swedish massge. Here is how my experience went: 1. Upon walking in I was greeted and I asked if an 60 min appt was available today, the lady at the desk said yes but how about 90 minutes. I said sure. There were no intake forms to fill out I was never asked why I was there or what type of pressure I wanted I was just shown into a room 2. My therapist enters and starts on my back, no communication just starts in with a rigorous deep massage - I realized later she did not speak english 3-no music, no bolster under my feet and forget about modesty, by bare butt was exposed plenty and often 4- Both my upper arms are bruised very badly, I wish I could post a picture- the therapist ripped into my upper arms and I had to keep asking her for lighter pressure which she did not seem to understand 5- Checking out is what really inspired me to write this review. I was never asked how do I feel I was given postcards and asked to tell my friends - which I did and they will never come here. 6- The clincher was I handed the therapist that worked on me a $15 tip and the lady at the front desk started going on and on that I should give her "$20 because she worked hard for me" WOW she wouldn't stop she kept at me.
