I came in for what should have been a simple follow-up: my HR department only needed an updated exemption form that my primary care physician had already completed in the past, connected to a heart valve leak that worsens under stress. Instead of reviewing my medical history carefully, Dr. Tong kept insisting he "didn't see anything" in my chart--even when I told him it was already linked in my patient portal and confirmed by my PCP. He dismissed the medication I take (which had just been confirmed by his own PA minutes before) and repeatedly implied that my condition wasn't real because he didn't see it in one set of notes. When I tried to explain, Dr. Tong minimized my concerns and spoke down to me. He even argued there was "no difference" between a 6-mile drive and a 60-mile commute, despite my documented anxiety diagnosis and heart condition. Rather than acknowledging he didn't have the full context, he chose to question and belittle me. The final straw was seeing the appointment summary later: he essentially admitted that my records were in the portal, but he personally didn't think it was enough to justify the exemption. If he had been upfront about that, I could have understood. Instead, he made me feel gaslit, disrespected, and completely dismissed as a patient.

Doctors, please hire better staff as they are killing you! Even your Office Manager has a bad attitude and doesn't care about the patients. She is mean looking and not approachable. Usually just for an annual physical or something minor, but every single visit to Benacare turns into a half-day event. I arrive early and without fail, I'm there for at least two hours. Every time. No exaggeration. Then there's the co-pay situation. Annual physicals typically include lab work and a follow-up to review results. Benacare charges a co-pay for that follow-up, whether it's over the phone or in person, which feels questionable at best. There's no option for a simple nurse visit and no online portal to review your own results. So you're basically paying just to hear information that could easily be shared another way. And to top it off, their credit card machine is somehow always "down." Paying becomes its own ordeal. Multiple attempts, repeated card numbers, long holds. I've spent up to 30 minutes just trying to complete a payment over the phone. The whole experience feels inefficient, outdated, and unnecessarily frustrating.
