David took the unit apart, and in removing the drain pan he found a buildup the was keeping the pan from emptying totally. He proceeded to remove the blower which definitely needed service and clean and reassemble the unit. He the checked the split system, put anti sludge that I had in the drain pan, flushed the drain and then clean both the outside units. We scheduled service for next year.

First American could not find anyone wiling to do the work and told me to find an electrician and they'd reimburse me. I called several electricians in the area - none wanted to work on a 24v line, until I called Roger L Newman, Their attitude was "no problem" and they were out the next day and fixed my problem with no hassle at a very reasonable cost. They explained the problem, offered me a couple of solutions, and worked efficiently to get my VERY old a/c back working. Knowing the Freon would cost more we agreed to the price of $165 per pound. Total cost for Freon was $400 plus the service call cost. A d Few days later a neighbor had service and their technician quoted R22 at $90 per pound. So we placed a few calls and found that two of the three business charge in the $90-95 range. I called back to Stanley Best and was quoted $155 per pound! To say we were upset is mild. I know we called them, we agreed to the price. But this much difference in the cost is taking advantage of their customers! Get quotes before using Stanley Best!
