Organic Jack cares a lot about ensuring that people are eating right and keeping healthy. It might seem a little high pressure when you first meet him but it's all in your best interest! I paid up front and now receive a "Jack Pack" about every 2 weeks and it is always filled with fresh organic fruits and veggies. All this delivered right to my door! You can also customize the delivery to only include the types of produce you like. Oh, and the main selling point for me was learning about all the benefits of wheatgrass, which I ordered seperately but is also delivered to me with the Jack Pack. I now juice the wheatgrass regularly and it makes me feel amazing! My daughter bless her heart wanted to make sure I was getting fresh organic fruits and veggies, she paid $200.00 up front for this service. What I received over and over was old veggies and fruit, carrots that were bendable, not firm, mushy spinach, old beets, and many times I received things I did not order and didn't receive the items I did order. I finally cancelled with Jack, I kept getting emails and phone calls after telling them to stop. Like another reviewer said, the farm was a big mess, a real joke. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS PLACE, IT'S A JOKE THROUGH AND THROUGH. A good friend she said she would have stopped me had she known I was considering this place, same thing happened to her.....there have been others since. We paid Jack, the owner of Foothill Organic Growers, $200 for a series of produce deliveries. We were led to believe that we would be able to select what we wanted in the deliveries and that all produce would be ripe, organic, and locally grown. All I can say is: WHAT A FARCE! Our deliveries never conformed to what we had ordered. One of our deliveries included supermarket-grade carrots packaged in plastic under the Bunny-Luv label. Nectarines, persimmons, and other fruit items were delivered unripened and hard as rocks. Many items were old, damaged, and even moldy, including a bell pepper that arrived with a large gash in the side and discoloration already setting in. After two deliveries we said "no mas." We asked for a refund of the unused portion of our $200 payment -- and we haven't received a single penny of it. Our advice is to avoid this scam like the plague. read more

I went to Foothills Organic Growers to see Jacks organic farm hoping to see a nice veggie garden. When I arrived he/Jack told me the he only grew wheat grass. He took me into he shed where he grew it. There were wheat berries every where and a big rat trap sitting on the growing containers of the wheatgrass. I commented on this and he said rats were part of a farm ,. That the rats liked to nibbled on the wheat grass and that he rinsed the wheat grass off with water and peroxide. He told me that it would cost $80.00 to purchase the correct amount of wheat for a month. After thinking about the rat trap, I emailed Jack and told him that I wasn't going to buy any wheatgrass because I had a problem with a rat possibly flopping around on the wheatgrass for hours and possibly putting blood on the product. I also told him that I like to do my own shopping and to not contact me any more. Jack has called me more than once and continues to email me. I don't answer. My friend ordered a box of food from him and said everything was wilted except the beets and didn't pay him. I will say that Jack carries a lot of knowledge although some of it is outdated. I feel the name Foothills Organic Growers is a misrepresentation since it implies that he has a farm growing much of his produce. read more

We ordered from him in June of 2011 with a clear understanding that we would get a delivery every 2 weeks for 6 months, and if we were not happy with his product or service we could cancel and get our money returned to us. After a delivery, we were not pleased with his product. We canceled and he told us we would get our money back. He still hasn't paid us back and he owes us over $600! At this point it's getting close to a year. Would a reputable business do this to anyone? Think about it. Here's an update for November 2012. Still no payment. With accruing interest charges, it appears he now owes us over $1,000. No indication he intends to pay. When we canceled after the first delivery of produce, he did pay us back $400 of our over $1000 initial payment, but even that was after a series of phone calls from us asking him for the money. We got to hear a bunch of excuses, then he just started calling us names and using foul language. We have it all documented, with dates and times, also, including his email where we calls us more names and tells us all about his money problems. I was treated so bad at Foothill Organic Growers that I still wake up with nightmares! I was repeatedly told how "FAT" I was by Organic Jack and my name was replaced to the "BIG FAT WOMAN" in my Excel order form issued by Organic Jack. In other words, everytime I attempted to fill out my name, the smart script was automated to replace my name with "BIG FAT WOMAN". I was supposedly given replacement Excel order forms to only be insulted again and again. What a dirty trick! He wouldn't refund our money and in our attempt to lesson our losses, we accepted second rate produce riddled with moths and knats that ended up migrating into our indoor plants... Produce smelled like tobacco and had to be soaked and soaking in iodine and variable vegetable washes DID NOT work. I was issued moldy wheat grass and Organic Jack insisted that it was fine and it would cure my breast cancer. As I continued to juice it, my extreme allergic reaction escalated to the point of immobility, but Organic Jack offered no apologies and took a strong stand that my allergy to mold and wheat grass had to do with my toxicity and poor health. I'm still upset and this is a year after the fact. Their customer service is not only poor, but was abusive! read more

SCAMMER!!! "Organic Jack" sells lies & lectures on cancer. One could say he's passionate, but I would not say he is well informed, well rounded or organized. He offered my family & me a "tour" of his farm. We drove from Sacramento to Newcastle/Auburn where he had no signs to let you know you were at a business, let alone a farm. Very little, horrible parking & we didn't see anything more than a sad vertical garden. He did have a lot of wheatgrass but after drinking it, my son threw up 3 times. We got no tour, no tips on gardening, no info on composting & no free box of produce. What we did get is a 2hr long lecture on how everything gives you cancer & how the dairy industry is the devil. He topped it off with a ridiculous sales pitch to give him $250 up front for the possibility of something being kind of delivered every 2wks (he said I could pick up my produce in Rancho Cordova some where). Any way, we said no thank you & left. However, he continues to email & call me even after I have asked him not to. I don't think he even knows who he's talking to. Extremely unprofessional! We get fresh fruit & veggies regularly through Foothill Organic Growers and juice as often as we can now using the wheatgrass juicer press we bought from them. Everyone in my family has experienced various health improvements so when we start slacking on juicing we are sure to get back on track again right away. I'm really grateful to Jack and Randy that they took us under their wings and have provided the tools they do for healthier living. I'm not at all offended that in addition to what they do grow they also get additional organic goods that they share with their clients free of charge. It just makes it that much easier to stay on program and yet enjoy a variety. He doesn't claim to grow the blueberries, avocados and other things seasonally available that he shares, but I don't mind getting them too. To me it's just an added perk. But of course, its not for everybody just like going to the gym is not for everybody. Everyone's got to find what works for them. And another thing is that Jack's personality might not be for everyone either, like if you offend easily you might not get him because Jack speaks frankly. But I happen to like that about him and would rather be around people who speak that way rather than just pretend they're a certain way to your face.
