Pretty sad & embarrassing. Then add to it, the ref was locked arm-in-arm with this school's coach, haha, and literally had an arm around the waist at one point!! Suddenly it makes sense why there were sooooo many TERRIBLE calls. You know it's bad when you hear parents on the opposite team commenting about the bad ref calls IN THEIR FAVOR! This poor ref was so "proud" of himself that he refused to provide his name to the score keeper's table to put on record as having reffed the game, lol. Literally refused!! As if they wouldn't find out eventually, I mean, he would like to get paid, right?!... ------------------------------------------------- For football... if you're the opposing team & you're winning, KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE CLOCK!!! Whoever is in their scorekeeper's box/tower INTENTIONALLY starts the clock a few seconds after the snap in order to give their team more time to catch up, AND sometimes when the clock is supposed to keep running, they'll randomly stop the clock. It's insane! Then, when they're ahead, you watch the clock suddenly begin starting/stopping correctly. No joke! Also, same with other sports, be prepared for the refs to behave as if they're paid off... bogus calls & penalties for the opposition, while allowing dangerous hits (blindside, late hits, leading with helmets, undercover punching, aligator-twisting legs as they tackle, pass interference, & more) go "unnoticed." The refs fail to do their jobs so things get out of hand & injuries occur. Never fails at thos school's games. It's sad & disgusting.

The teachers and caregivers at Safari Kids have taught him everything from good manners to geography and math, and have returned him well fed, rested and happy every single day, but what impresses me the most is how attentive they've been to my son's individual development, even though they have many kids to take care of. The Safari Kids team knows my son well and genuinely cares for his well-being and development, even as far as working with us parents to achieve any goals that can support good emotional regulation and behavior. Now he's started attending school in the school district and he does after school at the Treat Safari Kids. They pick him up and take him there which is a HUGE life saver for working parents like me. I can't thank Ms Autumn, Ms Noura, and all the staff at SK enough for all the hard work they put into taking fantastic care of my son. I highly recommend both the Oak Grove and Treat schools from my personal experience.

From the very first day, we knew we had found a place where our child would be loved, nurtured, and inspired to grow. He moved through three classrooms--18 months to 2 years, 2 to 3 years, and 3 to 4 years--and at every stage, the care, attention, and kindness he received truly exceeded our expectations. We are especially grateful for the incredible leadership of Ms. Autumn and Ms. Neha. Their warmth, dedication, and commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment shine through in everything they do. Ms. Neha, in particular, is one of the most caring and involved educators we've ever met. She takes the time to get to know every child--not just the ones in her own class--and her attention to detail is deeply meaningful. There were so many small yet impactful moments that showed how much she cares. I'll never forget when she told me she had warmed up my son's lunch one day just to help him eat a bit more. It may have been a small gesture, but it spoke volumes about the love and thoughtfulness she brings to her role. Another example was how she was always there in the early mornings during drop-off--her warm presence helped ease the transition and made our son feel so welcomed and comforted each day. He grew so attached to her, and knowing he was greeted every morning by someone who truly cared gave us such peace of mind. We were also lucky to have the support of other wonderful teachers during our time at Safari Kid. Ms. Lynda brought such kindness and consistency, and always treated our son with warmth and care. And Ms. Janna, who was with the school for a year, made a lasting impression with her genuine love for working with children. She was truly dedicated and so engaged--I often found her reading to our son during pick-up time, completely tuned in and present with him. It meant so much to see that level of commitment and connection. A heartfelt thank you as well to Ms. Moji, our son's teacher during his final year, who played such a big role in his early development. Her patience, kindness, and joyful spirit made every day something he looked forward to. He would come home excited to share what he had learned, and we could see how much he adored her and his classroom. As our son transitioned to public school for TK, we had hoped Safari Kid's Oakgrove location might offer an aftercare program--we would have sent him there in a heartbeat if it had been available at the time. While we ultimately found a wonderful aftercare solution elsewhere, it speaks to how much we valued our experience at Safari Kid that it remained our top choice. We are forever grateful for the incredible foundation Safari Kid has given our child. The love, guidance, and sense of community we experienced here made all the difference in his early years. If you're looking for a place where your little one will be truly cared for, supported, and celebrated, look no further--Safari Kid is a very special place.

Things were not working out as planned at another daycare closer to me, and that is when a friend of my husband's mentioned going to Regina's instead. We were, and still are to this day, very fortunate for the referral. My oldest daughter spent about 9 months at Regina's until she was able to attend Kindergarten at Bancroft. I appreciated that Regina and her helpers created not only a positive experience for learning, but a nurturing environment for her growth on all spectrums. My daughter was a bit in-shock from changing daycare environments, and I appreciate the dedication and sensitivity to help overcome that. While I am impressed how much my oldest daughter was able to change and grow, my youngest daughter made some unbelievable milestones here -- and they are a reflection of how great this daycare really is. She benefitted greatly to receive about two years of care here before she moved onto TK a couple months ago. She was initially having trouble walking (late walker), and Regina recommended a type of boot to help her gain confidence with walking. Sure enough, she was able to navigate as soon as they were on her feet. The magic did not stop there. What sets this place apart, and this is something even my husband's friend mentioned is that Regina's place displays a strong outpouring of empathy. They teach the kids kindness, how to look out for each other, and how to be a good soul. That is difficult to find anywhere, let alone, something that is even remotely taught today. The empathy was mentioned by BOTH of my daughers' teachers; when I attended a parent/teacher conference earlier in the week. My oldest daughter is one of the top students in her class academically, and so is my youngest! My youngest daughter's teacher mentioned to me it is unusual for a 4 year-old to be able to know most, if not all of her alphabet, but have the ability to differentiate between upper and lower case letters. She is also apparently the only one in her class that can count past 5, and up to 100. I even enclosed the test results below this review, so you can see how she did. She did goof on one letter for each, but still... 25 out of 26 is amazing! I want to also add Regina taught opposite words, how to write numbers, alphabet letters, learning about the seasons/days/months, TONS of hands-on enrichment activities, music (Regina is an amazing piano player!), and private links to YouTube videos of their holiday celebrations. Regina paved the way academically, as well as leaving everlasting impressions that carried through that I am absolutely appreciative of. I am forever grateful and thankful. I really am. Regina's daycare is worth its weight in gold. The education, TLC, social interactions, carefully-crafted home cooked meals, and structure are truly the building blocks for the small group of diverse children under her care. You won't find a place like this. Regina was literally tailor-made to be here to get your child on the right path into a school setting.

Regina and her assistants have always made it their priority to keep the children safe and always kept an open line of communication with parents. My son enjoyed spending his day playing with his friends, music time, arts and crafts, practicing yoga, learning how to make cookies and scrambled eggs, and even started learning how to read! We really appreciate the support with his early education. We also appreciate the effort they made with celebrating holidays and special birthday parties! Regina even takes photos during these events and prints them for you! We loved having these memories! I would highly recommend this daycare to any parent! Thank you to Regina, Vera, Suray, and Irina for taking such good care of our son and loving him like your own. My son is now more than ready for TK this Fall and he will miss you all so much!

KLA was the place where all my kids learned to crawl, then walk and run. Its walls were privy to the earliest conversations and first friendships. Its yards were the source of a few scrapes, endless make-believe games, and new discoveries. The staff truly loved my children for so many hours they were away from home. Every year there were new rituals of playing in the hallway before heading to class and waving goodbye through the big glass windows. It was such a joy to watch all three of my kids thrive and learn new things daily. When I think of KLA, I think of finger painting and puddle splashing, cultural activities and the annual Halloween parade, Friendsgiving and field trips to the blue park. I think of Spanish classes, theater performances, and ASL. I treasure the amazing portfolios that our teachers put together for every child, every year. We left with friendships (for both the kids and the parents) that will hopefully last a lifetime. For all of this and more, I will always be grateful.

Expecting 4-year-olds to already be writing and recognizing letters feels academically misplaced for a Transitional Kindergarten level. What's worse is the inconsistency--it's clear the "rules" don't apply to everyone, as kids who can't yet write their names are accepted while the process remains a "black box" for everyone else. It feels more like a biased "who you know" system than a transparent evaluation of a child's readiness. We also noticed during our tour that the school's diversity is very low. In today's world, we want our children to learn in an environment that reflects the broader community, and we didn't see that here. Definitely something to consider if transparency and inclusion are priorities for your family.
