Their unwavering commitment to creating a nurturing environment for children to flourish, grow, and gain confidence is truly commendable. Which brings you to my story. Earlier this year, I lost my adult son; he left behind my beautiful grandaughter, who now lives with my husband and me. Her world changed from one day to the next, and life as she knew it was different and absent. Being an only child who desperately needed structure and friends, we enrolled her at Guiding Light Montessori. It was a rough 1st week, and when I say rough, that is being softly put! Justine was a Godsend; she gently guided and helped my granddaughter feel safe, welcome, and loved! It didn't take long for that transition to happen because of Justine's genuine heart for the grace of children. These early experiences play a crucial role in shaping our children's self-confidence. My granddaughter has learned to trust that her feelings are respected, welcomed, and loved at Guiding Light Montessori. The education and daily experiences at Guiding Light are beyond measure. I do have to circle back to the tender care the children receive daily. Because of that, the children are open to receiving the teachings. My granddaughter comes home singing and sharing; she wants to do everything all by herself--a true reflection of a Montessori student. I am beyond grateful and feel completely blessed. Thank you, Justine, and every wonderful teacher who helps guide these little people. Your work is truly appreciated! With Sincere Gratatude, Jim and Michelle Service

I come to this as someone who has spent years running licensed care programs under the California Department of Social Services, so I understand both the standards required and how challenging it is to operate a care program well. Because of that, I have a high bar, but also a realistic one. From that perspective, Little Flowers Montessori has exceeded my expectations. What stands out most is the consistency and longevity of the staff, which is incredibly important in a care environment. My daughter is in the Daisy class and has had the same sweet teacher all year long. Ms. Fatima, who has been leading that class for years and is such a gem. She is loving, calm, patient and so nurturing. The children are clearly bonded to her, and that sense of stability has been so reassuring as a parent. The early morning staff are equally warm and welcoming. They always seem so genuinely excited to see the kids arrive each day. Anna, the assistant director who has been there for years and years, is also exceptional. She is friendly, approachable, and extremely responsive. Her communication skills are top-notch, which is enormously important when your child is in the care of others. She provides real peace of mind that everything is being overseen with care and attention. The front desk team is also kind and helpful, making daily interactions smooth and positive. And may I add they provide nutritious snacks and hot lunch at no extra charge! That is a priceless gift to any busy working parent. This alone makes their rates extremely reasonable for the area. While there are certainly newer fancier centers popping up what matters most to me is the heart of a program. At Little Flowers Montessori, that heart is clearly in the people. My daughter is happy, comfortable, and enjoys going to school, and our experience has been consistent and positive. For families looking for a nurturing, dependable environment run by people who genuinely care, I highly recommend Little Flowers Montessori.

We deeply value the school's commitment to core Montessori principles, the intimate class sizes, and their dedication to a holistic, screen-free, and no-sugar environment. Beyond the daily classroom experience, the thoughtful family events they organize have created a great sense of community. She is starting kindergarten now because we couldn't in good conscience move her to public school with kids who are starting to sound letter when she is reading chapter books. We didn't do anything at home more than take her to this school. And leaving TK our daughter is completely autonomous, has high self esteem, knows how to take turns, knows way more about geography and other cultures than most Americans, knows how to read probably at second grade level, and was starting with place value and multiplication understanding. Compared to other kids her age and even my own son who didn't attend this school, the difference is huge. Her whole class is at another level, so you know is the school and the incredible leadership of Ms Naveeda and Ms Noreen, who are not just management. They have been part of my child's education constantly, joining all may parent teacher conferences. My child loves math, science, dance, and reading because of them. Don't fall for bigger establishments or other amenities. Look for great educators which is what you get here.

I fully understand that being late was my responsibility and that the school may have had another appointment afterward. What disappointed me was how the situation was handled. The Site Director did not come out to greet me or speak with me in person. Instead, she only stuck her head out from inside and told me that I was late, the next family was arriving, and that I needed to come back another day. What confused me even more was that she said the tour was only 15 minutes, even though my confirmation email clearly stated that the scheduled tour would last 30 minutes (10:00-10:30 AM). I explained that I only have one day off from work and asked if I could at least spend a few minutes seeing the school since there was still time remaining in my scheduled appointment. Unfortunately, there was no apology, no empathy, and no willingness to accommodate even a brief visit. I respect the school's schedule, and I understand that arriving late has consequences. However, first impressions matter. As a parent looking for a preschool, I expected to be treated with courtesy and respect, even if I made a mistake. A little kindness and professionalism would have made a big difference. Because of this experience, I decided not to consider this school for my child.

This is more than reasonable for a toddler experiencing his first daycare and time away from us in a foreign environment. Before we even enrolled, Marnie and Alamo Montessori School went out of their way to help our son dip his toes in with multiple 15 minute morning sessions to help him feel comfortable with being away and with his new environment. We eventually enrolled our son and while he hesitant initially, Marnie had a great plan in place to keep my son entertained and distracted. After only a couple of weeks, he now loves going and can't wait to get out of the car. Highly recommend Alamo Montessori School! We enrolled our son at 18 months, the youngest age that AM accepts (which is lower relative to many Montessori programs in the area!) While I knew that it would be a big transition for him, I was comforted when Marnie asked us to come see the program in action and let him join in for two short visits prior to our first day. At the time, he was shy, attached, and was behind in his speech. Since then, he has grown into such a confident, personable, and intuitive little boy. I attribute so much of that to AM's approach to learning. They paint, do science experiments, read books, sing songs, and play outside every day. They let the child lead with their interests, but also expose them to experiences that I don't have the patience for (or the willingness to clean up!). He is constantly coming home with new skills, songs and words in his vocabulary. He gets so much focused attention and I can tell that he is incredibly well loved and cared for. We communicate and receive photos through an app, and there are twice yearly "parent teacher conferences" where we get an update on how he is doing. He has thrived under their care. I truly believe that placing him in Alamo Montessori has been one of the best things we have done for him. I am so grateful.

The agreement also states that the tuition deposit "is applied to your FINAL DVMS invoice." Before we paid, we had asked DVMS for additional time. They declined, telling us in writing that they had "a significant number of families currently in our wait pool" and therefore could not hold the space without the deposit. Our circumstances later changed and we notified DVMS approximately 30 days before Theo was scheduled to start that he would not be attending. He never attended the school and therefore never had a final tuition invoice against which the "Last Month Tuition Deposit" could be applied. DVMS refused to return the money. Less than 24 hours after we notified them, they told us they could not backfill the opening because wait-pool families had already committed elsewhere. This was difficult to reconcile with their earlier written statement about the significant number of families in their wait pool, our two years on the waitlist, and general community knowledge that most never get into DVMS. We pointed out the language in their own agreement and asked them to identify any contractual provision stating that the "Last Month Tuition Deposit" instead functions as a forfeitable reservation fee when a child never attends. We also asked them to preserve records regarding the wait pool and efforts to fill the opening. They did not provide that information or refund the payment. Parents considering DVMS should understand this policy and the language of the enrollment agreement before paying the deposit. Our experience was that DVMS retained the full $2,890 despite our child never attending, approximately 30 days' notice before his scheduled start date, and the agreement expressly describing $2,700 of the payment as a last-month tuition deposit applied to the final invoice. We also learned that four families from DVMS moved their child to our current school in moraga in the last 30 days alone. It seems this may not be an isolated issue with how they operate.
