Super friendly family run business. I have been bringing my 99' Acura TL here for the past 10 years for all my maintenance issues. Very reasonable prices and great customer service. I went in one day after a 30-hr shift at work and they let me sleep in the lobby. The connections to my battery were loose and caused my car to lose power for a second each time I went over bumps. Their mechanic showed me the problem and recommended that I replace the leads, but as a temporary solution he molded a penny to reinforce the connection for free! Great work. The AAA guy recommended them and warned me that my repair looked costly. Foothill Foreign helped me keep driving my old honda for a reasonable priced repair. Only downside is they only fix Honda's and Toyota's, so if you don't have one of those, they will not service your car. But conversely if you do own one of those makes, they do great work. read more

When the oil leaks in the engine of my old Toyota Celica gotten bad enough, I figured I'd go to the best place of I knew of -- Foothill Foreign Automotive -- even though it was a 90 minute drive to get there. In my earlier experience with them, they had identified a problem (missing bump stops) that another shop (and a fairly good shop at that) seemed to totally miss; they never charged me for any of the inspections they did on my car. The engine repair was going to be a big 8-hour job. Unexpectedly, it turned into an 18-hour job which was a result of my car being so old and the engine being completely caked with oil residue everywhere (even though I had prepped it by having it steam-cleaned elsewhere). In addition, various tubes and belts were cracked and had to be replaced. The amazing thing was, though the repair job more than doubled in time consumed, they did not charge any more for labor. They even offered to get me a rental car so I did not have to be stranded. It feels like my car's gotten a new lease on life. Lived here in Upland for the last 15 years and these are the Honda go to guys and gals. They are always friendly and compassionate about your your Honda. They treat everyone like they are top priority whether its an oil change or broken front suspension arm. Their prices are very reasonable and fair with all the care they put into servicing your vehicle. Just recently I took my 2012 Honda Pilot in for it's oil change and then a few weeks later I started getting cylinder miss-fires. I talked to Cindy and she told me instead of replacing the spark plug and all sorts of other repairs that I talked to Honda because there was something wrong with the V6 that I had. Well guess what, after I talked to them, Honda of America, it was confirmed that there was something major wrong with my engine and that I was fully covered under Honda's extended warranty for this issue. Cindy just saved me several several thousands $$$$ of dollars in potentially repeat repairs because it was actually a Honda design issue. These people are honest people doing what they believe in. As to Jana K. I believe that you may have mistakenly commented on FFA instead of putting your comment in for some other place. Akbar services vehicle like BMW and Mercedes, but Foothill Foreign Automotive only does Honda and Toyotas. If your repair was $3k they would have called you right away and tell you to take your vehicle if you didn't want to fix it without starting any work. But mainly, it sounds like you don't even have a Honda so there is no way that they would have agreed to even look at your car. Just to be fair, as these ratings are very important to them or any business. However, if you do get Honda, Foothill Foreign is the place to go for maintenance and repair. read more

They don't try to over-sell you or recommend services your car doesn't need, which is refreshing. I read the reviews which all sounded great. I even asked my family, my aunt and cousins who all have lived here in Upland for over 60+ years. They recommended I go to the Akbar on Foothill and Campus. Of course I did not listen because the reviews were so wonderful for this shop on 9th street. They call me right away and tell me it will cost $3,000 which $900 will be labor. I told them I cannot afford it. I have already paid over $2,000 just a few months ago, twice, and have had to purchase a new tire every other month since I moved here less than a year ago because of an emergency situation. After shops collect their thousands, my car is back in every 2-3 months. The Las Vegas BMW dealership put $22,000+ in to my car(3 sep visits) just last year after the car accident in which USAA would not total my car out(hit from back and front by a female texting!) I bought new tires(all 4) and new brakes before leaving Las Vegas to here. Which shop is "NOT" ripping me off? So I ask if I can make a few payments since I do not have it all after paying the high rent here in CA. They said nope! and that now they are going to charge me $35 a day since I do not have all of the money in the first place to get my car out. Since I was out of work, I got behind in everything. I phoned my lawyer in Vegas to see if they have received any money from the other ins co., State Farm, they have not returned my call in the past week so I guess that means, no. What is even crazier the shop said the repairs are $2,000 and that they only fixed some things that had to do with my steering and shocks and that the other things really weren't urgent to fix right now. Do they really think that if I do not have $2,000 today to run over to them that I will be able to pay an extra $35 a day? The guy, who called today with the message, said the Owner told him to tell me about the daily fee. The 2007 car is not even worth the $30,000 that has been put in to it in the last year. Everyone sees a single mom coming and they take advantage. Is anyone really fixing anything?? ? Times are hard for everyone. Give someone a break, with no car, I cannot go to work. This shop told me they would have my car ready by last Wednesday so I could get my son to his graduation instead, I never received a call. I had to go rent a car so that dipped in to $300 of the $2,000 I had to give the shop. Next time I will listen to the family. The other shop lets them make payments and they have gone to him 20 years. Robert, S& S Motorworks,(German Auto) in Claremont is also great, he even had my car filled up with gas one time which I did pay for. Those are the shops that are really "family oriented"! I just made the mistake finding someone close and thinking it would be convenient. I have friends and relatives who own business here in Upland and Claremont, Time to make some calls. read more

Having been told by the dealership that I needed a new water pump , I took it to Foothill Auto and they said it may have been leaking in the past, but not now. Thank you guys for saving me $600. Save On Auto Care did a tremendous job at repairing our Toyota Prius. Our vehicle had to be towed in, leaving us not knowing what to expect. They diagnosed the problem, gave solid, sound estimate and proceeded to repair the car as needed. Repairs were done quickly, accurately and with a very FAIR and reasonable price. I went there to get an oil change The staff was very friendly and nice The reason why i'm giving them one star is because 1- they told me that the waiting time was 45 mins but they kept me waiting for 2hours 30 mins 2- while waiting, the mechanic called me to show me oil and coolant leakage in my car I asked him to write it down with rough estimation of the cost to fix it He said i cant give you that, bring your car next week for inspection and i'll tell you the cost estimation As soon as i take my car it starts dripping oil on the ground Which it didn't before the oil change I took it to another mechanic and he said take it back here cuz while changing oil the washer was lost I took it back where I first got my oil change and told them what the other mechanic said They checked it and fixed it, apologized and told me to bring it next week for a check up And they said it never happened before! Honest honest honest! If you are a woman and don't want to be taken advantage of this is your place. Family owned and the office is run by women of family! They are honest and never take advantage. Often times they throw in free services because they felt you needed it but never asked so did it because they care. I have often been told by their staff they have your cars best interest in mind because if it not cared for the car will come to them and become their problem eventually to fix. Had my timing belt replaced here on my Toyota Tundra months ago and never got around to writing a review until now. I'd put them at 4 stars because they forgot to replug in my AC condenser so I had to go back with the check engine light came on. But back up to four stars for giving me a FREE oil change. Greased my rear brakes that were griding FREE. Fixed my check engine light problem with a master reboot FREE. Two other mechanics could not figure it out. Great service and fair prices. I live in Orange County now and really tempted to drive back just to go to this shop. They really do appreciate your business and have your best interest in mind. read more

Avoid. I trusted them because they were AAA approved but the car I bought needed $3,800 worth of repairs. I should have taken it to a different mechanic to have it looked at before I bought it but I was tired of car shopping and decided to trust these guys cuz they were AAA approved. My bad. Next time I won't try to buy an affordable car, I'll just go straight to CarMax and buy a car that does not need repairs. read more

I have been going to Foothill Foreign for a number of years now. They are fast, friendly, and go out of their way to make sure that your car is running perfectly. Just recently, I had a problem with my ECU which was making my car struggle to get into second gear. They quickly diagnosed the problem, told me what it might charge, then looked up a repair bulletin which stated that the ECU's were being recalled for cars under 80k miles. I was over this by 50k, but they still were able to talk a dealership into giving me a warranty replacement, saving me hundreds in the process. These are extremely honest people whom I am glad to be able to go to for all of my repair needs. read more

OK so Foothill Foreign Automotive sold, I wasn't sure what the new owners would be like but to my surprise the service was just as great as always! It's still the same family sort of place as always. Cindy & Jaime are still there YAY! So still the same great service. The only real difference is better for me though because of the American made cars I own. They now service a wider variety of cars. The prices seem to be about the same as before. And the new owner Dave seems to have that great work ethics as the previous owner Dennis has always had. My check engine light kept coming on & I was afraid it was going to cost me a mint! So like most of us do I kept driving it. Thinking I was making things worse, I decided to suck it up & take it in to Dave to check out the new owner. He was able to repair it the same day & the cost was next to nothing, the same price as before the sale. However I did get spanked from Cindy for driving it with the check engine light on! So happy "Foothill Foreign Automotive/SavOn Auto Care" still has the same great reliable service & prices as before. Oh and by the way I'm with you Samuel C., Jana K. has got to be off her rocker! Foothill Foreign doesn't work on BMW's! If you are going to write a review, Get It Right! Don't bag on a place that you obviously have never been to SMH! At least when you figure out that you wrote the review about the wrong place correct it! The small mom & pop businesses rely on Yelp. I used Foothill Foreign Automotive for a decade, but I think it has gone downhill - or it just took a long time for me to figure out that there was a problem. Great people, but it seems they are understaffed with respect to mechanics, and they have missed a number of things that other shops figured out quickly. In some cases this caused significant additional expenses and inconvenience. We won't be using them again. read more

I usually do not feel compelled to post reviews, but the service we received changed my mind. We took our car in for maintenance having taken it to the dealer up to this point. The maintenance light had come on prompting us to think we need an oil change, etc. After taking the history of the car and checking it over, we were told that no work was necessary and the light had come on because the dealer had not turned it off when we had the prior service completed a little early. The fluids were topped off, tire pressure adjusted all at no charge. It is refreshing to find a trustworthy mechanic willing to do the right thing. Also noted when picking up the car, that they are AAA certified. Kudos to this establishment. read more

I've been taking my car to Foothill Foreign for more than 12 years with total satisfaction. In fact, I started with a Honda Accord and then bought a used Toyota Camry, so they've worked on both. I can't say enough about the level of trust I have in the people there. They are personable and knowledgeable as well as reliable in all the ways you want with auto repair shops. There are so many auto repair places that will fabricate stories about what's wrong or try to sell you on something that isn't needed, etc. Not at Foothill Foreign.
